Angel Rose Bed & Breakfast Inn - This was after a guest had left so the bed isn't made but looks really comfortable!

The owners were so sweet and gracious! We spent the first night in the downstairs master. The bed was huge and comfy! I was thrilled to see that the ac in the house was powered by window ac units! I could die, I love love love Window units! I always sleep so well in rooms that have them. The room was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. On our second night we moved to a room upstairs, this room was considerably smaller but still really comfortable and nice. We had a great nights sleep, and we awoke to a amazing breakfast! They served us coffee, juice, a beautiful fruit bowl and eggs Benedict. Now, y'all know I am picky about my eggs! These eggs were poached to perfection. Breakfast service was elegant and a feast for our taste buds. One of the owners gave us a detailed history of the area and of the house while we ate our beautiful breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Angel Rose , we will visit again soon. As of now, they are making plans to continue the restoration and to make several upgrades. They are in talks to add an elevator, two extra suites and a sunroom. Upon arrival we asked about any ghost or haunting stories, the owner informed us they may or may not have a friendly ghost! I am happy to report that not only did we not see any ghost, but we also did not experience any paranormal activity! Enjoy your stay and enjoy the surrounding amenities in Rockport!

What a wonderful piece of history and elegance smack dab in the middle of Duval County. Lunch was…read morean unexpected slice of heaven (we had the Tuna Sandwich, the Chicken Salad, the house salad, the Chicken Breast Sandwich, their signature pasta, and the tiny single serve gourmet cheesecakes, and didn't leave a single morsel behind -- even with our normally finicky brood), and with an ever-changing (and reasonably priced) menu, we just may have to return a couple of times before we leave to see what else Chef Fermin has to offer. The building itself is right out of a Jane Austen novel, from the wrap-around porch to the white picket fence, with each of the rooms individually and tastefully decorated by Anne herself. Just stepping through the doorway is a million miles away from San Diego and a decadent escape for anyone for an hour, a girls' night out, an awards' ceremony, or a romantic weekend. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. You'll feel like you just got home and just went on vacation all at the same time. Congratulations on your grand opening, Anne & company! We're so proud to have you here and wish you all the best.

The Bluebonnet Inn has seen a decline over the past few years. It is a shame, because as others…read morementioned, the building is fabulous and the furniture is lovely. But Ann appears to be in need of help. A good maid and part-time cook would serve her well. Here is what we found: dirty floors and rugs, dust bunnies under the bathroom cabinets, broken A/C (on a 100 degree day), "amenities" that consisted of items left behind by previous visitors (shampoo, body wash, etc.). There was more, but suffice it to say it was disappointing. I hope she can find it in her to hire a couple of part time people, or perhaps a B&B manager because the Bluebonnet has great potential.

I have been traveling to the quaint fishing town of Port Aransas Texas all my life. I went and camped on its beach by myself the first time at 18. I thought I'd explored the entire area and knew every nook and cranny. That is until about twenty years ago,I spotted an interesting structure on top of a dune, casting a glint of sunlight at dawn. I wound my way down a quiet street to where I thought the structure should be. After some searching I found it. Tenetively, I walked a path going behind a house up a grass covered dune. To my surprise it was what looked to be a small church. There was no marker or sign, the door was locked but, I could feel something special about this place. Over a period of years I began to find out about it's history. Originally concieved and built by two Texas woman almost 90 years ago. The tiny chapel has withstood dozens of tropical storms and hurricanes. While other parts of the island have been destroyed and rebuilt many times, just in my life, the chapel stands. In 1972 an artist and University of Texas professor was hired to paint the interior walls. Let me say,Wow! The photographs don't do it justice. In its own simple way I truly place it in the same class of painted churches I've seen right alongside the Sistine Chapel. There's something about this place. Undiscovered by the masses for so long. Perfectly positioned at the highest place on the island. The first few times I visited and " re- found" it,my love for it and amazement grew. Unfortunately due to recent national awareness and exponential growth of Texas,it's no longer a serene visit as in the past. A small parking area has been built and you're likely to run into one to several people. However,if you find yourself in Port Aransas... Go!

I very much enjoyed my visit to the chapel. The guide was very informative. He know so much and…read more gave us lots of information about the chapel and artist. Definitely worth the drive.
