As you increase the pulling capacity, so does your bill. I watched one man guess a max hauling weight for his truck and his fees (Highway Use) came to almost $950. The next guy dropped his weight to as low as possible and said he was only hauling wood for the winter... It is not a motorcycle, and the designation creates a whole new level of complications, when all I have ever wanted to do is ride the scooter around the neighborhood, and enjoy being out in the fresh air. I have just successfully concluded the effort to re-register the scooter as a moped, which it very obviously is. It has a 49cc gasoline engine, has no external shifter device, and has a top speed under 30mph. The office personnel in the Waynesville license plate agency office have been most helpful in this effort, which involved an inspection by an agency inspector, and re-registering the scooter as a moped. The effort has been successful, thanks to the endeavor of all of the state agency personnel involved, and I wish to thank each of them for helping to straighten this situation out, and get the scooter registered as the moped it properly is. Great team effort, nice people to deal with and a successful conclusion. Win, win, win!

I've have visited 3 other shuttered prisons over the years and they all are pretty neat. This one was physically the smallest but was very impressive. We did like most folks and did the self guided tour. Took us about 2 hours and I think we visited everything that was open. They claimed that former staff or guides would be around to answer questions- sadly I never seen anyone. Now reasoning for my rating was based on not seeing staff for questions as well as the price. I know it's a neat historic place but $25 a person was a bit high. They did offer a small discount for military but again a self guided tour for $25 was a bit much. So I do recommend this historic place. But be aware of the cost and that your questions might not be answered.
