When I met the owner, Mr. Irwin(Jack), I knew that he was that guy. Jack's experience coupled with the efficiency and quality workmanship of his conscientious crew quickly proved to be a winning combination. Of the 3 companies that we contacted for an estimate, Knox Fence had an estimator on site the next morning, with their estimate to us by end of the day. When comparing product quality/warranty and project cost (which included removal/haul away of existing fence), Knox Fence came out on top. Once awarded the business, Knox Fence worked to confirm utility lines and had the project done in 4 hours. The end result is a beautiful, smooth-functioning fence which looks great! The workmanship of our fence seems great. The team was able to get it quickly installed. I would just caution you against expecting anything like reliable communication from them. Ben was late to our estimating appointment (over 30 min late...) and then after we signed the contract, he was basically impossible to pin down to an installation time. Be warned - he will take hours to reply to you. When we finally got a two day time period for installation from him, he got angry with me for asking when I should expect his installers. "Look I don't know what time they will be there." It must be hard to have such a lack of control over your team and business. Like I said, the workers did a great job but if Ben is supposed to be a salesman, he needs to go to a sales and communication seminar. To his credit, he did call me and leave me a voicemail and then immediately text me to collect payment so I guess he does know how to communicate when it's important to him. Also his team left cigarette butts all over our yard. Disgusting. I would recommend a different company. Julie's reply below indicates that Ben replied quickly to my texts - I would disagree. I just think that asking for a more definite time than "Wednesday or Thursday" is not unreasonable, but apparently Knox Fence does. read more

I called to have a quote with Brandon who is on this companies sales side. I shared with him some concerns about my 7+ ft green giant arborvitae trees and if the company can accommodate pushing the limbs of my tree through the fence so as to not damage them. He assured both my wife and I that this would be the case. On the day of the fence install. First thing I did was to talk to the foreman and make sure he can push the limbs through. He came across as unsympathetic and said it needed to be cut. He gave me an alternative to move the trees but I declined because these are 7 ft trees (they have no way of knowing how big the root balls are as I've seen how difficult it was to install these trees). So my first point, there is a disconnect from what they promised or said to when they installed the fence. The owner (Jack) came onsite next day as I had called to complain but he was essentially unapologetic. During the conversation out at my property the owner believed my trees would grow back. This is not the case if you read the literature on the tree types and I felt like he was lying to me because he just wanted to protect his company. At the least he was misinformed. Finally a bunch of my sprinkler heads were damaged but he did mention that this occurs frequently. He offered to compensate $125 for this damage. I didn't show him all the damaged sprinklers as I felt the owner just wanted to leave (I had to leave a little early on the conversation as I had a meeting and left him talking to my wife). Again no mention about this damage that could occur during the sales process nor apologies from the owner. Summary: Fence install: Yeah the fence is fine. It looks good and it's straight. Care for your property: This is the issue. Presents unsympathetic and indifference to your property. Seems like they think: "You wanted a fence we come out to install a fence. We don't know about trees or your property, we don't care". Basically no due care for your property. read more

In 2021 I purchased a home that was built in 2018. While mowing I noticed a section of fence leaning. The fence had a 'Knox Fence' sign, so I called them. Ben got me scheduled, came out, took a look at it, and fixed it at no cost under their warranty! Ben said the post shouldn't have failed so quickly, and that his team would take care of it when doing work in the area. In about a week I got a text, and later that day a team showed up and replaced the post. All work was done professionally, and I'll be coming back for future fencing needs. read more

In 2022, Knox Fence installed a picket fence in my front yard and a privacy fence in my back yard. They did a great job. Move forward to 2024, I was having issues opening and closing the gate in my front yard. I called Ben and told him the issues and asked if he could stop by and take a look and then quote me the cost to fix it. Within a few days, it was fixed and at no cost. It had been 2 yrs since the install and I in no way expected Ben to fix at no cost. It's working so much better and I couldn't be more appreciative. Thank you Knox Fence. read more

Not sure if this is the same company??? Same name but never dealt with a "Jack." ...Same estimate as another company but no fees for cards. OKed it and then all the weirdness began. Multiple awkward and unnecessary calls from Ben, (the "owner") that I won't quote here to save him some dignity. The second on-site meeting he admitted he had measured wrong, but it'd be "good for me", less materials (spoiler: he still charged me the same as the original estimate.) He contracted someone to remove the old fence. Then contracted someone else to build the actual fence. They showed up 3 days later than he told me. Glad I didn't have plans...? He was never actually on the job site. Not a huge deal but his "crew"? also left trash all over my property (food, broken tools, etc.) Then he immediately called wanting payment, that night, while I was at work. Then OVER CHARGED my credit card. All of this has been at the very least, unprofessional, if not suspect. Frankly, I can build a fence myself but, I work a ton and I just wanted this done quickly and was willing to spend the extra money. I'm still debating disputing the charges since I just want(wanted) this to be over with. Overall the fence is fine; gives me the privacy I wanted. Nothing spectacular. Would highly recommend Knox Fence for any fencing needs! I called Ben for an estimate and he was literally at my house within the hour to give me a quote and measure everything out. While he was at the house he gave me quotes for a variety of fence options and even educated me on the various types of materials and finishes I could go with. After hiring him I let him know that I was renovating my entire backyard and had to coordinate a variety of services from tree work, landscaping, and the fencing. Ben was able to be flexible with my schedule to remove my old, dry-rotted fence so the tree company could work without issue. He was then very attentive to the scheduling updates as I provided them and installed the fence 2 business days after I gave him the green light to start the project! Prior to the install he came to the house and marked all my new drainage systems so that workers installing would not interfere with the previous landscaping work that had been done. After the workers left he came by and checked the quality of the fence and did a thorough walk-around to inspect the job. The workers cleaned up after themselves, came to the door to ask if I had any concerns and provided updates as they worked. I am really surprised to see some of these reviews. They were so professional, on time, conscientious of my newly installed landscaping, cleaned up their messes and did an outstanding professional job on my 6 foot wooden fence and two gates. They were so quick as well. The workers looked like machines, never stopping except for lunch. It was fascinating to watch. I called Knox Fence to give me an estimate to remove my 20 year old fence that was rotting and leaning pretty bad. Ben came by and went over the details with me and said they could haul away my old fence and put in a new one that would be the same style but stronger than my current one. He explained the ways the new fence would prevent the sagging around the gates that my current fence has (aside from it being old and rotten). The team that came over was very courteous and hard working! These guys literally removed, hauled away, and installed the new fence within 24 hours. It's supposed to rain all week so I think they were trying to knock it out before the weather hit, but they did an incredible job. I am so shocked and excited, especially since I have dogs that love to run in the backyard. We can't thank you all enough for all of your hard work!
