Green Goddess

A M B I A N C E This cozy watering hole with a hipster vibe has been one of our favorites in PSC since it opened about 2-3 years ago. It has amazing drinks and yummy food! Love the summer time oysters specials as well! Great place for a first date or to catch up with friends. It gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so if you want to be sure you get a table, call and make a reservation in advance. C L E A N L I N E S S This place is very clean. The bathroom situation is awesome as it's not gendered so there is never a wait! It's great! O V E R A L L Q U A L I T Y They changed owners recently, the famous Knox fries with Parmesan cheese and truffle is no more... But the fries are alright... As previously mentioned the drinks and oyster specials are on point. We ordered a plate of fries to share (6/10, good, but not the Knox fries we love). I got the Green Goddess salad, I usually don't go for a salad but this one seemed good! It really was, but I wish there was more cheese! Maybe bigger curls of cheese? Just more cheese in general. My partner got the Fried Pork Ribs and honestly 10/10. Those were amazing. Very different than regular ribs, but they were super yummy! Would recommend! C O S T $$ ~$30 per person for food and drinks W A I T T I M E S We went on a Saturday early dinner time. There was barely anyone there, but after an hour more people started showing up and most tables were already reserved! There was barely any wait times for us, we started off with a drink, try the Knox Gin and tonic! P A R K I N G Free parking located on the streets, but it's a busy area. L O C A T I O N On Center Street in Point-St-Charles. Great area, lots of little cafés nearby. This place stands out as it has a terrace on Shearer. H E L P F U L S T A F F Literally everyone who was working today came to our table. It was kinda nice.

Dining at Bar George was one of the highlights of our quick 24-hour layover in Montreal. We stayed…read moreat Le Mount Stephen Hotel without doing much research on dining options, assuming we'd just find something nearby. But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

Review for their Quartier Dix30 location, 2025…read more.. Horrible ending to our night, false accusations by their staff... My friends and I went to this pub as a portion of our celebrating one of their birthdays this evening. For context I and my friends are in our late 30s to early 40s, and we had beforehand gone to another establishment but the temperature was unbearable as they did not have air conditioning so we sought out an alternative and chose Mckibbin's. Funnily enough, Mckibbin's didn't have AC either but we ended up staying for a few drinks regardless, mostly to appreciate the live music which was quite good. The waitress was good as well, quick and friendly, we had a minor snafu with a couple of the drinks which were not to our liking but the bar graceously replaced them which is yet another solid point in their favor. Why, you might ask in that case, would I be rating this establishment one star then? Well it all comes down to how we ultimately exited the establishment. We all paid our tab at the table, and finished up the rest of our drinks, still enjoying the music playing. It was a great band by the way, I just have to say. We all ended up leaving after 10-15 minutes and all seemed well, except it was only once we're outside that I found out that apparently one of our group who had gone to the bathroom had been victim of a rather apauling scenario. He had been in the stall for 10 or so minutes (he was doing what he had to do .. sometimes nature calls), and was interrupted by a knock on his stall only to hear the bouncer tell him he had to pay and get out of the bar immediately. The bouncer aparrently had heard him "sniffing" his nose in the stall, and found that to be appropriate reason enough to accuse him of doing cocaine in the stall, and to force him out of the bar. Of course it did not cross his mind to think that perhaps it had something to do with the bar being at approximately 29 degrees, perhaps my friend simply had a stuffy nose, or perhaps he had allergies, no he heard a few sniffles and that was all he needed to throw out allegations. Needless to say, I'm completely and utterly disgusted having learned this. Ultimately we left and let things be, we weren't about to bust back in there and cause disruption for no reason we were already on our way out anyway, but to think that this man, employed by this establishment, could be so outlandishly shortsighted is a true injustice. Suffice to say, my friend has never done cocaine in his life, we quite literally made jokes about this man's accusations the whole ride home. Still, I will never go back to this place, because I shudder to think of myself in his situation and what I might do, how it would make me feel to be on the bad end of this kind of person's shortsighted and unfounded accusations. That said, I urge anyone and everyone to beware of the types of people this establishment has working under its payroll. Most of their staff (everyone else in-fact) were excellent, but unfortunately it only takes one completely rotten apple to ruin the bunch.

Horrible service. They didn't let 3 of my peers with REAL ID in the club. And when my friend…read moreconfronted them, the next time she came in they told her she was "the bitch with the attitude". Tremendously rude bouncers. Don't recommend.
