    Smoked meat mac n cheese

I haven't managed to visit this pub when they have entertainment but on my most recent visit they had some nice 80s music playing while the football game was on. There was a new small menu and I tried the Mac n cheese with smoked meat, some of the best I have EVER tasted. My husband had a spicy chicken wrap and onion rings he enjoyed very much. Best of all is the excellent service we always receive, it really means a lot to us. I have been to other pubs in Montreal where your drink is completely empty and no one cares... :-( This place has a lively vibe and employees who clearly enjoy their job. The restrooms are on the same level so no stairs! I love this. My only complaint would be the fish and chips... the fish was breaded, frozen kind and so fishy tasting.

    Lamb and barley soup

We were looking for a place to grab a late night dinner and this pub served food until midnight so we found ourselves here at 11:40 pm, starving. It was a typical pub with plenty of tables and table tops in addition to a long bar. We sat a table top and a server immediately brought us menus and took our drink orders (Guinness, natch). I had a French dip that came with fries and a cup of lamb barley soup. Pretty decent pub fare; everything was tasty and not greasy. The place got really loud when a cover band came on and busted out with some Pretenders and U2 tunes. It actually got a little too loud for my comfort level but then again, I'm getting old. Surprisingly, it never really got crowded in there, even though it was a Saturday night and all the surrounding bars seemed packed to capacity. Well, I guess not everyone likes cover bands? If I lived in the neighborhood, I would likely frequent this pub as long as they took the band's volume levels down just a notch.

The kind of pub you feel at home the minute you walk in. Visiting from the states found this pub across street from hotel, became our favorite go to for a pour or three. Kilted staff are great - Mike the manager offers up great stories and humor - and makes this Irish pub authentic. Did not eat there but food looked real good. Music on some nights.

Service was friendly but the food was absolutely awful! Came here for a French onion soup and it was truly the worst soup I have ever had.

Review for their Quartier Dix30 location, 2025…read more.. Horrible ending to our night, false accusations by their staff... My friends and I went to this pub as a portion of our celebrating one of their birthdays this evening. For context I and my friends are in our late 30s to early 40s, and we had beforehand gone to another establishment but the temperature was unbearable as they did not have air conditioning so we sought out an alternative and chose Mckibbin's. Funnily enough, Mckibbin's didn't have AC either but we ended up staying for a few drinks regardless, mostly to appreciate the live music which was quite good. The waitress was good as well, quick and friendly, we had a minor snafu with a couple of the drinks which were not to our liking but the bar graceously replaced them which is yet another solid point in their favor. Why, you might ask in that case, would I be rating this establishment one star then? Well it all comes down to how we ultimately exited the establishment. We all paid our tab at the table, and finished up the rest of our drinks, still enjoying the music playing. It was a great band by the way, I just have to say. We all ended up leaving after 10-15 minutes and all seemed well, except it was only once we're outside that I found out that apparently one of our group who had gone to the bathroom had been victim of a rather apauling scenario. He had been in the stall for 10 or so minutes (he was doing what he had to do .. sometimes nature calls), and was interrupted by a knock on his stall only to hear the bouncer tell him he had to pay and get out of the bar immediately. The bouncer aparrently had heard him "sniffing" his nose in the stall, and found that to be appropriate reason enough to accuse him of doing cocaine in the stall, and to force him out of the bar. Of course it did not cross his mind to think that perhaps it had something to do with the bar being at approximately 29 degrees, perhaps my friend simply had a stuffy nose, or perhaps he had allergies, no he heard a few sniffles and that was all he needed to throw out allegations. Needless to say, I'm completely and utterly disgusted having learned this. Ultimately we left and let things be, we weren't about to bust back in there and cause disruption for no reason we were already on our way out anyway, but to think that this man, employed by this establishment, could be so outlandishly shortsighted is a true injustice. Suffice to say, my friend has never done cocaine in his life, we quite literally made jokes about this man's accusations the whole ride home. Still, I will never go back to this place, because I shudder to think of myself in his situation and what I might do, how it would make me feel to be on the bad end of this kind of person's shortsighted and unfounded accusations. That said, I urge anyone and everyone to beware of the types of people this establishment has working under its payroll. Most of their staff (everyone else in-fact) were excellent, but unfortunately it only takes one completely rotten apple to ruin the bunch.

Horrible service. They didn't let 3 of my peers with REAL ID in the club. And when my friend…read moreconfronted them, the next time she came in they told her she was "the bitch with the attitude". Tremendously rude bouncers. Don't recommend.

McKibbin's is a proper, good-sized Irish pub with two floors inside, but those of us with four legs are restricted to the outdoor patio. Luckily, there's a street-side seating area where dogs are welcome, so I settled in for one of my favorite Montreal activities: Human watching. Mum and Dad each ordered a couple of beers. I ordered nothing because, unfortunately, there was no dog menu. There was also no water bowl service, so McKibbin's has some room for improvement in the canine hospitality department. However... I had fans. Not one, but **TWO members of the staff came over separately just to say hello to me. They did not need anything. They were not bringing food. They simply wanted to meet me. At this point, I can only assume word of my arrival in Montreal has gotten around. I tried to remain humble. It was difficult. McKibbin's isn't a fancy dog destination, but that's also part of its charm. It's a comfortable, casual pub where Mum and Dad can have a couple of beers while I relax outside, watch Montreal go by and occasionally receive attention from my growing Canadian fan base. Dogba's verdict: 4 paws out of 5. Cold beers for the humans: Dogs welcome on the patio: Excellent human watching: Staff stopping by solely to admire me: TWICE Dog water bowl: Dog menu: Paparazzi: Surprisingly restrained Would return. Mostly because I feel it's important to stay connected to my fans.

It's a fairly large space with seating out front as well as a downstairs bar area and an upstairs area that then opens up to a small backyard area! The music was pretty ok, nothing I wouldn't expect from a local bar. However, on the Sunday night I was there, there was a live singer/guitarist in the main area, which candidly I could have done without. Lots of TVs with sports on to watch. The staff was nice as well and I enjoyed wine, an espresso martini and a very large glass of cider. I'm writing this review mainly because this might have been some of the best poutine I've ever had, flavor wise. The curry was really something and we ate every last fry and piece of cheese. I would come back here just for their poutine.
