The service and seating process were in total disarray. We ended up waiting for a few minutes, then being seated, but no one was coming to take our order. I was already at my wit's end driving all morning and wanting coffee, so I had hardly any patience to spare waiting for them. They finally noticed that we hadn't been addressed (with the help of my waving them over) and got our drink orders and food orders in. After they dropped off the food, we didn't see them again until we had to flag them down once again to pay. That being said, my chicken sandwich was incredibly delicious. I enjoyed their Massaman Curry, it was quite favorable and authentic. The fries are particularly good here as well. Our service was excellent, even though things were crazy busy. Nice selection of local beers. Sophisticated cafe feeling. Great setting, and perfect for eating outside. read more

When I mentioned to them that I had been calling to make a booking and for hours the line was not connected, I was told the phone had been disabled accidentally but they still could not serve me at any point the rest of that evening (Maybe 6pm at the time I walked in, and again this was a mostly empty restaurant.) Maybe one of my favorite lunches in Ireland. I ordered their meatball sandwich with sweet potato fries, and my beau ordered a pulled pork sandwich that came with chips. Both sammies were flavorful and plentiful, definitely good value. I also have to say that they nailed the sweet potato fries which I always appreciate. read more

Very nice environment and service. We had charcuterie and cheese board, goats cheese, chicken tacos, Atlantic cod and prawns. The board is very well served and there's plenty of food for two. Cod and goats cheese I don't think it was worthy or at least not at the same level as everything else. Prawns and chicken tacos were definitely the winners. Strongly recommend the restaurant, although 3 dishes are enough for two people. read more

Four stars for a gourmet lunch at the super hip Knox in Sligo. I ordered a Pulled Ham Hock Sandwich that came with Sweet Potato Chips, and the lady went with a Meatball Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. At that point of our trip in Ireland, we had had enough regular potatoes. So while the sweet potato is also a potato, it felt like a vacation from the other potatoes we had consumed on a daily basis there. Both sandwiches were packed with flavor and worth the price of admission--7 to 11 Euros each. We also shared a brew brew from a local craft brewery that was pretty solid. An amber ale if I remember correctly. Cool spot, definitely worth checking out. read more

Got a turkey ham and stuffing sandwich, it had one thin slice of turkey, a tablespoon of what looked like pulled ham, a big slab of tasteless stuffing, and a tiny bit of cranberry sauce. BLT had a weird and unpleasant flavor. Chips were stale. Quesadilla also wasn't that great and was too spicy. Prices also seemed a bit high.

We sort of stumbled onto this place and we're extremely happy that we did. It's a delightful tapas restaurant, that's sheik and trendy without being unpretentious -- it's just really well done. We started with the artisan bread and dip which had one of the best pesto's I've ever had. Then onto the Goat cheese and fig with beets and pears! The goat cheese spread was adorned with generous portions of nut brittle that melt in your mouth. The goat cheese spread was delicate and decant - not over powering at all. Paired with beets and honey roasted pears it was to die for. We finished off with the smoked beef short rib and it was perfection!!! It melted off the bone and came with a beautiful BBQ sauce and light arroz verde. Amazing!!!!! When you're in Sligo come eat here!!!!! read more

Amazing burger! I didn't get the pineapple chutney on it though. The sweet potato fries were amaazing! They forgot my cappuccino, but it's probably just cause they were busy at lunch time.
