You feel that they want you to be comfortable and do what they can to make you feel so. The first cleaning was hilarious. Our back and forth wasted 15 minutes of her time. The first crown was intimidating. But he inspired trust in me. I broke my tooth! they looked at it IMMEDIATLY and scheduled a same day root canal. The 2nd crown was easier as she and her assistant were angels. my oral surgeon was..... OK. UAB or some shit.

When I return in Jan.for the root canal Dr. Luna did not numb me well , proceeded to drill when I opened my eyes he knew something was wrong he proceeded to tell me that he was attempting to save the tooth by filling the tooth, however I paid a root canal(suspect to say the least). I said Dr. Luna I paid for a root canal? He proceeded to do the root canal. He placed me on an antibiotic after the root canal and a week later the top right side of my mouth and face were in a pain I can't began to explain, I went back to Dr Luna and he looked at the X-rays and told me there was nothing wrong other than he needed to adjust my bite ( drilling again). I left and that night the pain came back even worse, I called the office a lady answered and I explained to her the issue , she said let me look at your chart , guess what ? She saw a cavity and a filling that needed to be replaced ( that's the lie I spoke of earlier that Dr. Luna lied about). I asked to have my records transferred and they gave me this spill about no we don't want you to go anywhere else come back in so we can rectify( excuse me I most certainly will not). I had already set an appointment at a different dentist( amazing chair side manners and experience). The new office informed me they would have my records transferred and not to worry. I have to return to Dr. Luna because I have paid for my procedure already and they have to place my crown , but when I tell you I don't want to because of the experience I had it's just not enough explaining I can do. I would not recommend Dr. Luna to anyone , they claim to be so Christian beware of wolves in sheep clothing, when you are a true child of God you don't have to speak it The ACTIONS WILL SPEAK FAR LOUDER THAN WORDS..

I'm new to Hoover & very happy to have found the pediatric branch of Brocks Gap Dentistry!…read more I scheduled an appointment for my oldest child, as a follow up to having a tooth extracted in our previous state. Upon entering the office we were pleasantly surprised to see his name displayed on an a-frame sign, welcoming him as a new patient. How thoughtful! I've since returned with my younger two children for cleanings & for follow up visits for my oldest. My entire crew enjoys visiting this practice! Staff has been consistently friendly & helpful. Hygienist and doctors are skilled & knowledgable. They have provided quality care and ongoing clear communication. Paperwork is complete online prior to appointments or in-office with a tablet. The waiting area are child friendly & fun -- complete with arcade style game machines (Pac-Man, Stargate, Galaga, Multicade) and sit-on monster trucks. If you're looking for a pediatric dentist, I highly recommend scheduling with Brock's Gap Pediatric Dentistry!

Not many people understand what it's like to parent a special needs child. In our case, every day is different and many times good oral hygiene is a struggle, leading to many, many teeth and gum issues. We have taken our daughter to over 20 dentists in the Birmingham metro area (yes, early on, we called UBA and the wait was a year for anesthesia), and Brocks Gap is THE ONLY DENTISTS who were willing to save our daughter's teeth. THEY CARE. Dentists, hygienists, DAs, managers, receptionists, etc. are there to help, but this is how they feed their families and they must be paid (this is a finger shaking to the negative reviewers who are angry that they charge a late or no-show fees). They went above and beyond to help a middle-class family who did not have all the funds to give their daughter a new start with her teeth. They are working with a new company that doesn't focus on credit score allows patients to make monthly payments for dental work, so if you think you can't afford to go to the dentist, give them a call. They have so many options for struggling families just like us. If you have a fear of dental work, you can even request anesthesia, which is a must with our child, who has extreme anxiety and could not tolerate the time sensitive and lengthy dental care she needed. If you have a child who is autistic, you will be in VERY SAFE HANDS at Brocks Dental. We will be letting families everywhere know that there is a dental facility that can care for the whole family, but ESPECIALLY our autism babies who need the kind of care that they give. We will never, ever forget the compassion and empathy given by each person who makes Brocks Gap what it is, a place where parents are not judged, and a true love of children and their well-being is so very apparent. Thank you to everyone who has greeted us with a smile, understood when we needed to reschedule due to melt downs or blown tires (we drive over an hour to them, because it's worth it). given patience to a very sensitive 16 year old and still helped us when Mom has had stress induced breakdowns. We would not trust anyone else with our daughter. There's a special place in heaven for those who care about children and who are humbly gracious with the struggles of others. We are so blessed to know them! Lisa Dolce

May 20: My consultation was scheduled for June 24, and I provided my insurance information at that time. June 24: My appointment was canceled by the office due to staff being out, with the next available appointment not until July 6. July 6: I was informed only after arriving that my insurance could not be verified, despite having been submitted 47 days earlier. After my consultation, I spent approximately 20 minutes locating my policy number and watched the information be given to Vickie. I asked if I should wait while my coverage was verified and was told there wasn't time to complete my treatment plan that day, but that I would receive a call the following day. July 8: After not receiving a call, I contacted the office. Vickie asked if I had found the policy number, although I had already provided it on July 6. I was then asked to contact my insurance company. July 9: I confirmed my insurance was active but still under my maiden name. I accept responsibility for that oversight; however, it could have been addressed well before my appointment had I been notified when my insurance was first submitted. I provided the updated information and was told I would receive my treatment plan on July 10. July 10-16: I received no follow-up. My multiple calls on July 15 and July 16 went unanswered, and when I finally reached someone by calling from a different phone number, I was placed on hold for Vickie and never received a return call. I understand that only one person prepares treatment plans, but repeated promises of follow-up without any communication are unacceptable. It is frustrating to feel as though I have to repeatedly pursue a practice with which I am prepared to spend thousands of dollars. Timely communication and honoring commitments to patients should be a basic expectation.

I woke up 3 days ago with an extremely swollen face, pain & inflammation in the area of a bridge…read morethat was done late last year. I should go ahead and state that I have a balance at PDC at this time of about 280.00, which was the balance of the bridgework that my insurance did not pay. I had to pay quite a bit out of pocket before that work was even done. Due to a death in the family & caring for another elderly parent, money has been short. We called PDC 3 days ago & told them my symptoms, which were all concurrant with an abcess. The office then told us that I would not be seen, nor any antibiotics would be called in until the balance was paid. I have been a patient at this office for 13+ years & have never had an outstanding balance. Dr. Turner, who originally founded the practice, retired a couple of years ago & it was purchased by Dr. Kentros, who I've found is a more cosmetically centered dentist. I decided to stay with the practice, as I had been there for so long, but I'm sorely regretting that decision. I had to go to an emergency dentist since all the clinics nearby had no openings. After X-rays and examination, it was found that the bridge that cost well over 1,000.00 was installed with a gap in it, which exposed the root and caused an abcess. Thank God they gave me a prescription for antibiotics. I was told by the emergency clinic that the bridge would need to be removed and replaced. They suggested I call PDC, who did the work, to either repair, or to be given a refund so the work can be done elsewhere. Upon calling said clinic, I was told they still would do nothing until the balance was paid. Maybe I'm wrong here, but why would I pay this amount when the work was faulty to begin with? I'm furious, sick, and do not have an extra 280.00 in my account to spare. I was told it was an insurance issue & not an ethical one. It was allot of money and pain to have this work done. Beware!
