Other tongue-tie specialists were "booked" and were giving several weeks minimum before we could get an initial appointment! As a parent with a child in pain - this is a brutal thought! Dr. Baxter reserves appointment times for parents in these sort of emergency situations. He cares deeply and has HIGH integrity with his patients while also exhibiting strong leadership skills with his staff. The entire office experience from start to finish is one of compassionate care. I always had enough time to comfort and nurse my little one before and after my appointment in a private room away from everything. I could easily access our medical records at any time and all my questions were acknowledged and answered. oh, I almost forgot. We received a phone call the afternoon after our tongue-tie surgery from Dr. Baxter himself checking-in on our child's status and he gave us insights and alleviated any fears about post-op procedures. We also could text a phone number at any time, as needed. The Stadium Trace Pkwy area of Hoover is local to Hoover, Bessemer, and Pelham. The Valleydale Rd area of Birmingham is located within Pediatric Dental Associates' Medplex office and is local to Pelham, Hoover, Alabaster, Calera, and the Pelham side of Chelsea. I have been driving from the Ballantrae community in Pelham for over a year. Each location works well due to their proximity to I-65. As an adult patient whose needs were not as complex as others' I never anticipated I would be treated as their most important patient, though that is what you experience with Samuelson Orthodontics. From the moment you speak with them you are cared for no less than they would care for their own family. The treatment plan, along with the financial aspect of it, is plainly explained. There were zero financial surprises along the way or near the end of the treatment. I was new to the world of braces since my formerly straight smile was becoming V-shaped and teeth had started to shift. I selected metal braces and had fun with the jokes from my friends and family. They also offer Invisalign and clear braces. I maintained my oral hygiene and had no staining of my teeth when they were removed. Dr. Samuelson and his assistants beautified my teeth to be straighter than ever before and brought back my joy in smiling. With braces appointments you get to know everyone quite well and you see how patients around you are treated. Every single interaction with every person was filled with kindness, concern, empathy, efficiency, appreciation, and knowledge. Dr. Samuelson is, by far, the most approachable and humble doctor I have encountered while also being on the cutting edge of Orthodontic Technology. I'm a micro-manager and he gently and clearly had an answer or reason for my endless questions. He and his assistants are patient and kindly educate while continuing to stay on task, no matter the interruption. When scheduling and rescheduling appointments you will speak with helpful and friendly Scheduling Managers who will do everything they can to accommodate your needs. Everyone is proactive. This practice can be trusted with your teeth and your family's teeth. I observed their outstanding care of other adults and children, including those who have different or special needs. The kindness and expertise were apparent every moment. They deserve and have earned the business of each person reading this review. It is so rare to be able to give a 5-star rating, and even with such a rating the business typically has some room for improvement. There truly was nothing that I experienced that could be improved. He argued with me over it, unbelievable, he could have pulled my sons tooth in the time it took for him to have his say with me. Let me tell you it is obvious he is not a patient dentist and is very rude and obnoxious. He told me that my appointment was for an exam and that I would have to schedule to have it pulled. Then he proceeded to tell me that he had 14 other people to attend to and slammed the door as he left the room. Unprofessional, and unbelievable, what a terrible example of showing to me that we were not wanted in that office and it showed. He showed my son no respect and me no respect. So I would definitely expect for him to do the same to your family. He is terrible and I would never recommend him to anyone. My 6-year-old and 10-year-old do not like their dental appointments, but today, they were put at ease. Dare I say, they will probably not be apprehensive of their follow-up in the Fall. The lobby caters to kids of all ages. There are tablets mounted on the walls with games that kids will like, a tv playing children's programming, and toys the smaller kids would enjoy. The office even has WiFi so us parents have something to enjoy. When my kids went to the back, Dr. Crawford-McKendall and her assistant made sure to explain what they were doing each step of the way. They also talked to the kids about the importance of brushing and flossing in a kid-friendly, positive way. The doctor also explained any concerns she had to me and told me what I steps I can help the kids take to ensure they continue to have great teeth. I then went back to Anglin Pediatric to inform them about my insurance coverage, and they filled the claim with my insurance provider accordingly. However, I never received my refund for the out-of-pocket payment, and despite several attempts since October, I have not received a refund from them yet.
