We've had a wonderful experience with Eun-Jin Chae these past two years. Both of my children…read morestarted as beginners, and Ms. Chae did a fantastic job of introducing them to Suzuki music. She was extremely patient, had a good sense of humor, and seemed to know how to motivate young kids to practice. She was also very consistent in her teaching and emphasized concepts routinely so that children would learn good habits. As a parent, I particularly enjoyed the group lessons and seeing my kids playing with fellow students. They learned how to constructively critique themselves and each other, as well as lead songs effectively. My kids also enjoyed the camaraderie they had with the other young students and it became something familiar that they looked forward to. We found the studio very organized and we enjoyed the studio recitals immensely. Ms. Chae is a very warm teacher and I would highly recommend her studio to anyone --particularly beginners-- wishing to learn violin.

Joy of Music School provides music lessons and instruments to children of families who cannot afford such luxuries. I use the term "luxury" because in most public school systems, the music and orchestra programs have been removed from the budget. I have personally visited Joy of Music School and have seen them in action. All the teachers are volunteers. The program has been life changing for many kids. Some students go on to major universities on music scholarships. For others it is an outlet from their daily lives, and for some it is simply a way to stay out of trouble. In any case, this is a cause worth funding. I would highly recommend The Joy of Music School on multiple levels. I am a proud supporter.
