During the piano move, the two movers seemed to struggle a bit moving the instrument (just an upright spinet) 30 minutes down the road but didn't end up damaging anything--home or piano. You do need to be upfront about your move logistics so that Fretter's can staff and charge appropriately: length of sidewalk, number of stairs, etc. Rick is no-frills. Like other reviewers have noted, his communication style is direct. He has a bag of tools ready for anything in his early 2000s minivan. His tuning fork and his ear don't lie. He has years of experience leading to successful repairs and tunings no matter your piano brand. Rick's provided realistic advice to me on frequency of tuning and if maintenance is worth the cost, based on my specific instrument that I acquired from Facebook marketplace. I especially love that Jennifer not only works through lessons books with them, but she has been incorporating ear training as well and helping them play popular songs on the radio by ear. This helps keep things fun and balanced for them. She is also not afraid to venture into new areas with the kids as they show interest. For example, my oldest recently joined a band, and Jennifer has been helping him work on his band songs as needed. He is also showing interest in songwriting, and she has been happy to help and encourage that. Additionally, my daughter has shown interest in playing and singing, but she is a little shy about it. Jennifer has been great at encouraging her and giving her the opportunity to sing and play. We have recommended Jennifer to several of our kids' friends whose parents have approached us about starting piano lessons. They turned up promptly, managed to get their vehicle up my driveway (no other company had been able to do this) without causing damage and the crew worked diligently all day with humor and the utmost care. They even reassembled my daughters bed better than the original bed company. A couple of items were left off the truck since I had under estimated the amount of boxes I would have. Rather than cram them on and risk damaging items, they came back the next day at no additional charge. They also disconnected and reconnected my washer and dryer as part of the service. We were told that it was just "tools" Yes, we had a big house. No bedroom or living room furniture. Just an absolute ton of boxes. I can't tell you all of the things that we have found. We asked Lauren many many times if they needed to come and look. We were told repeatedly "no". After they were paid of course. One of their workers fell off of the ramp while unloading a piece of furniture. When they got their last payment, Tony asked me about a contract. I in return asked him if he was an honest man.
