As you may know, I am spoiled rotten! I have really gotten used to the atmosphere and services of a Day Spa Retreat! A"Spa" like this is a quick stop, where you might be able to have services done without the need for an appointment. I didn't have one on this particular Sunday afternoon. I had been at a coffeeshop with a friend, closeby, and as I was leaving, I decided to check out this facility for cleanliness, prices, and service. Well, the prices sure are inviting! You can get a mani and pedi for $40 or less, depending what you want. My upper lip needed waxing, and they charge only $5 for that, so I tried it out. It's not a huge place by any means! It resembles one long hallway: at the front is the friendly receptionist presenting a chalkboard of services and prices. Beyond that, there are 4 or 5 chairs for pedicures on the left, facing the same number on the right. You pass this gauntlet to reach the manicure station where there are 3 or 4 spots to have your hands done. At the back are 2 rooms for waxing and presumably for massages (if they offer that? I don't honestly remember...) There was no discernible smell in the salon, but they don't offer hair services at all. And the front door was wide open to let in the fresh air. But there were a couple of incidents that knocked points off for me: One staffer was curled up in one of the pedicure chairs reading the paper. She looked really bored! It's summer, and it's the first hot weekend we have had. You still have to look busy and engaged when you're at work!! Secondly - and really, more personal to me - when I got to the waxing station, and the aesthetician invited me to make myself comfortable on the bed, but the bed looked rumpled as it had already recently been used! When I mentioned it, she removed the wrinkly paper and head towel. As for the waxing itself, she did this in an interesting way which I have not had done to me personally previously, although I've seen it done this way on TV: she put the wax on, then covered it with paper, got a grip, and ZIP! it was off!! Other locations don't use the paper. It did work, and she did pluck the occasional stray hair. Unfortunately, my lip was red and raw for a little while after the service. Been to this place twice, mediocre at best both times. First time I went for a mani pedi, decided to upgrade to shellac for my mani and regular for my pedi. The girls are nice, but sometimes service is lacking. They did just fine for the colour on my toes, and it came out looking great (but you have to work hard to mess that up). The shellac on my hands wasn't amazing however. The girl didn't seem to be very good at it beyond being able to put it on my nails. I opted for having a different colour on my ring finger and she ended up putting it on very thick in one area so it looked slightly lopsided after it dried. Then it ended up peeling within a week at the edges (I don't use my hands for a lot so it should have lasted a lot longer). I think the whole thing cost me between $60 to $70 so not worth it in the end. The second time I went I opted for the $40 mani pedi to give them a second chance on something easy. They did a good job, however after everything was done, I was left under the hand dryer with the girl not telling me how long I should sit there for. I asked her and she gave me this look like I should know and brusquely said ten minutes. Both times I've been in I feel like right when it gets to the end, they're not interested in helping you anymore since it's 90% done and they move onto another job. The only reason why I opted to write a review is that I ended up having to take the nail polish off my finger nails since my nails seem to be breaking and peeling easily. I have fairly strong nails and right now I've had to cut them down to the shortest they've been in a while. I'm obviously not 100% sure if it's because of their techniques there, but I would assume so. I will not be back. My recommendation to everyone: If you only wanna spend $40 doing a mani pedi and really don't want to do it yourself, KNT Nails is fine for that. But don't expect much and it may be the cost of your nails in the end. read more

I went to KNT nails and foot spa They did Gel nail for me and mini Mani and Pedi for my daughter the whole reason was to make her busy while I was there. first they put me into another room that I couldn't even see her. second the whole Mani and Pedi for her was 15 minute. they just put nail polish on her. and my Gel nail the girl damage my nail so much that I had to put my hand in ice water at night to calm the pain and Advil to sleep. I do not recommend this place to anyone read more

Went there with my teenage daughter to get pedis and nails done, guys treated is like royalty, very nice and friendly , we absolutely loved and recommend KNT Nails Orleans !!! Best experience ever! Ive been getting pedis for over 20 yrs read more

15 min for a pedicure???? We expect less time if no colour is being applied but this was the worst pedicure I've ever seen. When we complained they dropped the fee to $25. But even at that it was too much for the quality of the service. Won't be back. read more

Literally worst place ever, went in to get short acrylic nails that look natural & the guy doing my nails was upset because of how short I wanted them & the entire time would take a deep breath out and roll his eyes. Another lady brought up the colour of my skin and told me that "this colour looks great on your because you are white" I'm not saying anything that she was racist or anything but imagine if I said that to her ?? I'd be in a lot of trouble .. also was over charged and treated like GARBAGE read more

I've been going to KNT for a few years now and I like it. I was a bit surprised to see the reviews below. It's been my experience that when comparing apples to apples KNT is better than most....Now let's be clear, KNT isn't a spa, it's a nail house. They do nails. You don't get the spa experience and you don't pay for it either. The staff who aren't working are kind of casual and can be found reading, or lazing but I would prefer that over some nail houses that seem to make the girls run like crazy and are always trying to upsell. I've enjoyed KNT and will keep going there until something changes for the worse. read more

The worst ever! Save your money - rude and terrible service. I took my daughters and mom for Valentine's day today and we almost cried. I wanted it to be a nice thing for the 4 of us and I work hard to be able to afford something like this as a special treat. The pedicures were awful and one lady was so mean to my girls - they were so excited and she was so rough with them - yanked their legs off the chair to put them in the water - so so rude and nasty. I was so sad by this experience I signed up for yelp just to write a review because I feel sorry for anyone who would go to this salon - do yourself a favour and don't go! No one should be treated that rudely! And the pedis were just horrible 15 minutes tops and terrible polish - basically we got our feet washed for 113$ read more

I use to go here often for manis or pedis since it was cheap and when they first opened they were pretty good and friendly. After awhile, the service went downhill. The workers who arent working are always lazing around like they're bored out of their mind (which im sure they are!), one girl was using up a manicure station to do cross stitching infront of customers which i didnt think was professional at all. i find they don't really care much about their clients and do crappy jobs that i dont go anymore. last time i went i got shellac done and the girl botched the one finger (she got another paint color under the nail so there was streak) and she kept trying to argue with me that it was ok because she didnt want to redo it. my nails were pale pink and there was a black streak, it was very obvious. After arguing that i'd like her to do it over she finally did it with a heavy sigh and then rushed it to get me out of there. They're just unprofessional and although you're not paying much, i still expect more. Also if you go at the end of the day, they're literally putting on their coats and pushing behind you to leave so they can close up shop even though the one time they did that, they were supposed to be open for another 45 minutes. Price is the only thing this spa has going for it. Arrived for my appointment no one at front desk One of the girls called from the back how can we help. I said I had an appointment and sat down. Someone came and asked me to pick my nail colour from the wall. I then went to sit down at the pedicure station. No introduction no smile. Only question was do you want then trimmed, I said yes and I can tell they are uneven on each foot. The whole pedicure was rough and uncomfortable and lasted a total of 30 minutes from sitting down to the completion of the polish. When she was done put the fan on my feet and left. No words, she seemed to hate her job. I then saw her at the back sitting in a chair eating talking to another employee who was doing a manicure on someone else. 30 minutes later someone came and took the fan off my feet and walked away. I took this as my signal it was time to leave. Got up waited for someone to come to the cash. Worst pedicure ever. I have been to many places in Kanata and Stittsville ranging is prices from $30 to $70 and this is one I will never return to. I have been getting pedicures for 15 years and this is the first time I never left a tip as I felt like I was bothering them by being there and they have no idea what customer service is. Definite no! I called and made an appointment and was told to show up at a certain time then told better make it 15 mins later. When I arrived for my appt I was advised to take a seat in the waiting room (old magazines and bottles of polish strewn on the coffee table.) 5 mins after my 'appt' was to have started I was led back to the manicure chairs where there wasn't an empty one! (Passed the pedicure area that looked very dirty and cluttered) There was some discussion btwn employees over the appt book and I went over to ask if my name had been registered and she said yes but better go back to the waiting room. I sat there for 15 more minutes before getting up and leaving! In the time I was sitting there I observed the shop to be busy but very disorganized, looked dirty to me and cluttered. The women offering assistance as customers came in were brusque and not smiling, One employee went right outside the front door to smoke (in an esthetician setting?!?!) the prices seemed reasonable however I know of other places that you can get a nail fill and gel colour in one visit for one price- here they charge each one separate and you will pay almost $60 with tax for a fill ( a new set only costs $70!!) so that is another definite no for this shop. No one apologized and in this day and age of customer service I found the entire experience completely unsatisfactory from cleanliness to organization to service to pricing!!!! I've been trying them out after finding the one I used to go to was leaving me mid work to help another customer and taking a lot longer at the work with not great results. My first few experiences were ok although they sit on their fanny between people and clean nothing - ( dust on lights and around tables never decreases) The one with the shortest hair is aggressive and rough she never talks and grabs at you flipping your hand or twisting it so your not relaxed or enjoying it. She burst out yelling something in whatever language that sounded like she's angry rarely smiles or says hello. Once I gave money to my daughter to tip both our pedi girls and she didn't say that when she gave it to the first girl ( ya right 10 dollars for what? My heel wasn't even smooth) and the manager followed me out and told me: " where is the tip?" Demanded it!! In cash too they take offence otherwise. Its crappy service from start to end. They even talked about a lady who came in asking for refund when the nail polish chipped three days later on two nails. They actually laughed and made fun of her after. read more
