I called KOA info a few days before my stay, to get all the details that wasn't listed on the web site and make sure all charges were correct. *The lady I spoke to was nearly rude and didn't have any patience with me, as I was asking basic questions, trying to write the info down. By conversations end, took 5+ minutes (some 2 min. of info, 3 min. ON HOLD!), she tells me there's no vacancy. Ok. Bummer! Thinking my plans might have fell through, I got to thinking about the nearly rude customer service I received from the lady. As an avid camper/event patron, not to mention my years of customer service experience, I didn't want to let the one sour employee win. I went right back on the KOA website, navigated through a reservation, and booked for my one night stay. Whew! Simple camp site with water, electricity, & table. How convenient was that! **Water worked. Electricity worked (box cover was blown off/broken, and showed signs of an arc blast). My picnic table was totally useless: it was sitting at such an angle from the tree's uprooting, stuff just fell right off. I was so pressed for time to set up & get to my planned event, I didn't have time to hunt down a grounds attendant to fix it. I really didn't realize the inconvenience of the inadequate table position till I got back some 4 hrs later that evening, to BBQ! I had to improvise with a bucket & ice chest, & I was only able to cook half of what I planned, with my small improvised set up. That table had to have been like that for a looong time, months or even years. Why nobody/other camper didn't mention it before, is beyond me! It's been sitting at such an unfunctional angle. The MAJOR QUESTION IS: why the grounds keeper didn't fix it sooner!!! It shows a lack of common sense on the grounds staff, and a total negligence on the facilities upkeep and accommodations !!! I told the lady at check out, and she did not want to compromise one bit. I asked for coupon for next stay, then maybe an item from store, like drink or ice cream. Nope! Nothing! She was stubborn, and basically told me "that's too bad, thanks for letting me know." Again, I was pressed for time upon check-out, and didn't have the time to speak to management. . . . .I'll be damn if she put on a manager hat, if I did. I hate to feel I got the crummy,bum end of the deal, but that's how I left feeling, with the lousy service & accommodations! FYI: Tent check in is 1pm! The tent camp sites are 16' x 22 '! Finding an RV Park in LA with extended stay is difficult. I live full time elsewhere, however I am staying at Fairplex on an extended basis for employment. I am giving Fairplex 2 stars because it's available for what I need, decent location, Manager is friendly and the facilities are kept fairly well. First issue to address is the lack of enforcing rules. The Laundry room is 600 square feet, staying distant from people is difficult. There is a huge sandwich board sign at the entrance with a stop sign, instructions, rules about entering, wearing a mask. A sign stating L.A. County code requires a mask is on the door. On 6 occasions I asked people to please get their mask, 3 of those people were confrontational. I am exposed to high risk people daily and if I get sick, they get sick. I approached the office staff, nothing has changed. Dogs are required to be leashed however many of the large breeds are left unleashed. Many times these larger dogs will run unsupervised throughout the park. Yesterday I witnessed a Brown German Shorthair and Herding dog running through people sites, sniffing and urinating. The shorthair was confrontational, his hair was standing up the entire time. Playing fetch with your dog is ok, but unsupervised, unleashed animals are not. The Management ignores this. Noise isn't terrible, people are within close proximity and do pretty well. However there is an annoying group of Lineman (Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) who clearly don't have respect for others. The sound of a diesel pickup is expected at 5 AM, but the blasting stereo is not. All these union brotherclowns have motorcycles, dirt bikes, ORV's etc. It's one thing if they start and ride them away. But on nearly every occasion engines are being revved, they are left running and the noise is loud and disturbing. They drive fast, especially the Harley MC owners. Most all of these clowns have dogs, my neighbor saw a dog off leash and made a comment to me about it loud enough that the dog's owner walking behind could hear it. Two days later my neighbor was confronted by the dog owner who asked how long they had been at Fairplex and claiming the rules meant nothing. This is the same dog that trotted into my site and urinated on my stairs right in front of me. There are a number of these lineman living here, they are arrogant, disruptive and disrespectful. Fairplex won't ask them to abide by the rules. My spot was filthy when I pulled in, there was straw/hay, nails, screws and other garbage. The dirt on the asphalt was thick and full of hardware. I spent a lot of time trying to get all the screws and nails out of the mud that I hosed into the street. I keep finding fasteners of all types in the dirt that was once grass that still waters the dirt, so wasteful and you can imagine the muddy mess. I have seen the Manager drive the property one time, I have seen the staff drive the property less than 5 times. They stay in their office and have no idea what is happening. It wouldn't take much to make this a great place for everyone, even the union brotherhood bozos who are more of the problem than not. read more

We are RVers who find Pomona convenient from where we live and work. It's true that the sites are very small, but we were able to use their picnic table at our site, and have our chairs outside plus open out two side-outs. The RV park itself is not rowdy. Yes, there is some traffic noice -- White Avenue is very busy -- but it didn't disturb us. The staff were friendly. We were able to walk around regularly with our dog. The tent sites are right next to a parking lot where there are often RV shows (sales), and there are also a few cute cabins there. There are nice trees at the park, but we were still able to pick up satellite service. read more

I was there this past weekend for the Irish Festival and I saw this crazy dude try to throw his packaged pitch tent against a tree and he literally fell over a wooden fence and broke said fence. Quite hilarious! He looked pretty hammered. read more

It works if you need a spot and don't care about much else. Spots are pull through, but good luck being able to read the numbers in the dark (or the light). The spots are very skinny. There is barely a strip of dead grass between you and your neighbor. There is one bathroom a long way off. Hopefully you have a bathroom in your rv. I don't know whats up with the clientele but both mornings the bathroom was disgusting. What the hell is wrong with people? read more

The only good part was that it is close to the Fairplex that you could either walk or ride the tram for the NHRA drag races. Spaces are tight and 4 people had to help direct us and another person while parking so we didn't take out the ones next to us. We literally could not use our awning or our bbq as you open the door and there is your neighbor. Staff was rude and not helpful. They only have so much free parking and you have to pay for the other spots. But if someone parks in your spot that you have paid for guess what oh well because they don't keep track of license plate numbers. So we left a day early and got ripped off on parking. They also gave all the better spots to the permanent people there now. Not happy with this KOA at all and will not be going back. read more

This was the worst experience we ever had we were abruptly kicked out due to the manager saying they had complaints funny thing we were asleep . Earlier that afternoon husband and friend helped out employee becuase there was a sewer spilled and still the manager Vaughn was ungrateful we had children and still made us leave at midnight I would never stay or recommend not family friendly also I intend to go further based on watching the owner of KOA he would like the poor manners who does this especially with children read more

It's 90 degrees outside and the pool looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. It cooled down enough to use the jacuzzi at night but it was full of kids, right beneath the sign that says no one under 14. $5 deposit for pool key? Really? I stayed here because I was traveling for work and didn't want to stay in a hotel. It's a giant parking lot right on a busy street but it is conveniently located to the fair grounds and the drag strip. If the pool had been clean I probably would've given 3 stars. read more

Found this camp ground after being turned away for not having a newer camper. The staff was friendly. They had a big screen movie playing of Dumbo in the pool area which is so fun. The store was a bit sparse, however, they serve complimentary breakfast to all the happy campers. Met some fun people from Germany in the Jacuzzi and socialized with them way past the time the pool was supposed to be closed. For being in the middle of the city, this campground is perfect. I would like a little more selection in the store, you know, spontaneous purchases but over all, I'm happy with my stay. read more

Late getting in. No problem what so ever. Helpful customer service from Deanna and other employees. ALL very wonderful ppl. They left an envelope based on trustworthiness. And code for bathroom. Paid following morning when we woke up after long drive. Everything had been smooth and don't know what we would have done without these great ppls help considering our truck had broke down the next day. Even though truck that wouldn't start in someone else's parking place no one yelled at us. Haha. They patiently helped us get our truck fixed and was able to finally move the truck without any dilemmas. read more

Clean washers and dryers, bathrooms, showers, and a small general store. Close to all the fairplex concerts and shows. Two week maximum stay limit and plenty of shade. Lots are tight but they can accommodate large rigs like mine (42'). read more

This is a decent place to camp for a few days. We were there for a horse show at the Fairplex and the spot was perfect. Everything is fairly close together, but our neighbors were hospitable. I would not recommend the tent or cabin area as the bathrooms are on the other side of the campground, and the spots for tents abut the fair parking lot.(that part is not a problem if the lot is not in use) Showers and bath were clean, store well stocked, and check-in was done by a sweetheart of a lady. To visit areas of interest on the north side of L.A./Orange County this spot is well situated. If I wanted to visit in this area I would stay here again. read more

KOA Fairplex - Recreation Centers Near Me - Pomona, California

There are aspects of this park that are great... clean restrooms, big showers, great laundry room. However... for folks staying in the early spring, there was waaaaay too much advertised on their site that they didn't have available for us during our three part visit over the course of three weeks in March/April. No breakfast, no pool, etc. Additionally, I had asked each time that we be placed near the bathrooms and each time, their staff didn't hear that request and placed us pretty close to the end of the aisles. read more

We have stayed in over 35 KOA campgrounds across the country on our family trips. We had no problems with the staff as some others indicated. Very friendly. Stayed in 1 room cabin - nice and clean. Just a couple issues for us. 1. No showers/ bathrooms near the cabins. Have to walk across camp to get to them from cabins. (showers were nice and clean, contrary to some other reviews I've seen) 2. Can't park next to cabins. Have to park a few hundred feet away after you unload your stuff. Kind of a pain. We only stayed one night passing through LA, so it served it's purpose well. It was nice and quiet at night even with air port nearby. Might be a different story if the NHRA drag races are going on across the street. read more

This was the worst experience in a KOA Kampground we have ever had. We unwittingly drove into a campsite of young adults and teens there for a summer rave concert series. We watched underage drinking, pot smoking with obvious apparatuses and people intoxicated to the point of jumping on tables and being loud in large groups for 2 solid days. We never saw security, but we were told they controlled these groups and checked the grounds hourly. Plus, we also had our RV rocking to the concert we didn't really go there to see. Our complaints to management were in vain. We were told we would receive one night compensation. We've yet to see it. If you go here, I hope it's for the party experience. They had nothing to offer but lame excuses. BTW, 2 people died from OD first night of concert. We should have called the police since the park couldn't be bothered checking IDs or activities. read more

The septic hookup was overflowing when we arrived. Spaces are so narrow, a tree branch literally was in our doorway every time you opened the door. The neighbors were so spread out we couldn't use our own space. When we asked to move to a different site, we were told no, they were booked up. Ha. Really bad experience. We paid in advance for four days, 98 dollars a day. On our fourth day we found out early in the morning that our oldest daughter was in a car accident and we had to leave right away. The kid at the front office told us coldly that we will not be getting a refund. I understand this was the cancellation policy but we were expecting some flexibility, especially since it was an emergency. I guess not. Some permanent residents told us the management recently increased rates and from 680 to 1800 a month. And they recently got some money back because they were grossly overcharged. We are not going back. Shady business, inflexible and way too expensive. read more

If you value your property you will avoid this KOA! I've been camping at KOAs for years and this is absolutely the worst. The check in person barked at my wife for attempting to check in at 11 AM. We were willing to wait and never said anything other than "we would like to check in." Our site was so small that we had trouble extending our slides which went into the neighbor's property. Extending our awning was impossible. However, these things were not bad enough for us to give the KOA a low rating. The real problem was they have thieves on the property. The management knew this and did not tell us. My bike was stolen from under my slide. When I reported it I was told by the KOA manager: "We know we have a problem and we've had four other bikes stolen this year. We are going to beef up security and try to buy a new fence." We were never given a warning when we checked in and assumed the place was safe. Wrong! We stayed here about four years ago and the sites were tight but everything else was fine. I'm not sure if they are under new management but they do not seem to care what happens to campers. When I called KOA national I was told there was nothing they could do because this KOA was independently owned. Aren't they all individually owned? I just asked if KOA national would call the local franchisee and ask what was happening in terms of my bike theft. Nothing else, just show a little interest. I got a "Sorry, we can't do that but we'll make a note of your complaint." Oh good. Make a note and file it. Too bad -- too sad. read more

We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and the laundry room was a great amenity as well. However, it is a bit of a hike to Los Angeles and any of the beaches and there is basically no outdoor space at your site at all because the sites are ridiculously close to each other. read more

It fit our need for a one night stay but any longer and it wouldn't be comfortable for our small family. We stayed in a tent and the site was backed up against a large parking lot which made it a little less cozy. The tent area was cute with a fence which was very handy to dry towels and swimwear. read more

I have been staying at this gem of a campground for years....and this is my first complaint. There are men walking by my front door in dark clothes and backpacks. The first morning I was very frightened. I spoke with the staff. It happened the next morning, I spoke with the staff and the offending campers. I came back after a long day at the show to find my electrical plug had been pulled out half way. I spoke to the staff again and still this morning they march so close to my window I can reach out and touch them. I spoke to the manager this morning, she didn't offer to move me to a different site or help with that move. I am still frightened and now very angry. read more

Stayed sept 11-14, worst experience ever in a KOA or any rv park. We had sewer smell every night due to their sewer air vents throughout the campgrounds. When I went to dump during our stay their sewer line backed up and made a mess, I had to plunge their line to get it to drain. Wifi is nonexistant, best speed was 8mbps but usually more like 3. Sites are very close, park was built in 1986 apparently when trailers etc didn't have pop outs etc. I told an employee about my sewer problem and instead of him saying he would take care of it, simply told me to go to the office and let them know. No cable but that's not uncommon. Only positive is that the way they have the utilities set up you can pull through or back in so if you are traveling with another rv you can set up with you doors facing each other, but here then you have to smell the sewer so you end up going inside anyhow. read more

OK park. The staff can take some time to warm up to, but were overall friendly. They seem to get stressed out when more than one thing is going on at a time. They have an age restriction on 10+ year old coaches for 30 day or longer stays. Free WiFi was unusable for my iPhone and computer. Not really a campground. We reserved a tent site and the sites are small. They are divided by a wooden fence all around your spot. It reminds me of the pig pens that are shown in the cartoons. There are trees surrounding the wooden fence. Which takes space away from your cubicle-like spot. They don't allow a BBQ in your tent site, so you have to take it down to the street. There's no camp-like visuals. Your spot is full of wood chips, there's no grass, no hills, no "wild" animals (rabbits, squirrels). Even the trees didn't grow naturally. They're all is a man-made pattern along the sites. I was very disappointed with this location because it wasn't very nature-like. When we thought of camping, I thought of roughing it a little in an obvious controlled environment. But how can you have that bonfire, camp-like experience if they have a laundry, a market, and a pool on premises. Might as well campout in my parking lot. read more

Each year we go here. Park the 40' rv and take the shuttle to the races. Can't beat that. Seems to be run down more than years past.

Please don't let one bad review turn you away from this place, it is beautiful! I'm a travel nurse traveling with a fifth wheel and was having difficulty finding a place to stay. The staff were kind and helpful, and were able to get a spot for me for a few weeks while I waited for a monthly spot elsewhere. The place is quiet, clean, and great for families with a pool/hot tub area. I felt very safe here, and would have loved to stay but their monthly spots have a long waiting list too, and for good reason! The convenience store is great for times when I just needed some eggs or milk, or a nice ice cream treat. They see lots of international visitors who RV across America for vacation, and are very helpful with recommending good places to eat and tours of Hollywood as well. I met the owner when applying for a monthly spot and spent an hour and a half just talking with him. He's a great guy who is passionate about his business and the safety of his guests. In regards to the slow front desk- there is only one person working at a time and they are responsible for a LOT, please be patient with them and they will definitely return your kindness. You might be on hold for a bit making reservations, but its worth the wait. read more

Friendly staff, very nice updated bathrooms, great laundry room with very reasonable prices. We have a 38 foot fifth wheel with one slide out. We had plenty of room. All of the sites have nice big shade trees. The pool area is very nice, however the pool was not heated and was too chilly to get in in March. The pool is gated and requires a key to get in and out. They do ask for a $5 returnable deposit when you pick up your pool key. Campground store has all the necessities, plus some nice to have items. We were a fair distance from the main building, but the wifi still worked reasonably well. read more

We just checked in today, and we're very disappointed. They put us in with long term RVers. The site is not clean at all cob webs all over where you hook up. There is no grass at all. Went to the office to complain, and Deanna was nice enough to come clean it as best she could. The sites are really close together. Due to the big RV show at the fairgrounds they didn't have another site we could move to. For the price you pay to stay here the sites should be clean with grass. The long term RV'ers should be required to keep their site, and rigs clean. read more

I have stayed at the Camp Ground for the second time and it was great , the staff were helpful and kind . When I read about other people saying that the staff was rude I have the feeling that the people writting the review were not doing the right things and were called on it and they are just being mean for the bad things they have done . I went there on Saturday and Sunday with my friends.When we saw campground all my friends said "oh my god so did I".That place was the worst campground we ever saw. Right next to campground there was(I has no idea what kind of business there) so many cars coming in and out, really noisy there, and it open at 7am I thought I was on middle of freeway. Rude people in the office should of kept me away from this place. I had called to make a reservation, and was put on hold twice by the woman at the desk. Finally when I called the third time, she took my call. But she answered the phone and said, hello? I wasn't sure I had the right place, but then she said KOA. We pulled in about 8:00pm and found the rows so small, and it was difficult to get around the ends of the rows. We passed a bunch of drunk people talking loud and yelled at us when we went by them. We had nothing but trouble staying there. The internet only works some of the time, and talking to a few long term people, they said it has never worked right for years and that KOA wont fix it. The next day, there was a rude woman cleaning the women's bathroom, and she mopped over my foot when I was in a stall. I said, hey, and she said I should move them out of her way. When I came out she just made a face at me and walked away. I went to get a few things in the KOA store there, and when I got them back, found the sandwiches were moldy, and the can goods were out of date. When I brought them back, they laughed at me. Who does that? Well, one women told me that the leave and sap from the trees have ruined her roof on her RV over the past 6 months and sap gets all over their vehicle. We left on the third day, and won't be back. What a nightmare. Barb read more
