While I am 11 years removed from my own wedding, I can still speak to a great boutique! I came with my friend, who is getting married. What I really liked that you could look at the dresses yourself and pick out what you wanted to try on. A lot of salons don't let you do this. You tell them what you're looking for and they pick out the dresses. I'm sure this requires more work on the businesses end, but I do appreciate it. The dresses are gorgeous and there's a nice variety. I saw all the styles you'd expect to find including mermaid, silhouette, a-line, fit and flair, ball gown and some trendier choices like non-white dresses. THEN the real show stopper - a traditional cut strapless fit and flare dress covered in a sequin underlay so it sparkles like the sun. It was truly breathtaking. That's the special one my friend went home with. There's a room you can go into to get dressed, and the attendees will help you. They also provide strapless bras if you didn't bring your own, nice touch! Again, the people working couldn't have been nicer and were so patient and answered all our questions. It was a truly pleasant experience. Prices seem to be very much on par with most boutiques, I think you just have to come with a budget in mind. My daughter chose her dress in February of 2023 and it was paid for. Her wedding date is May 25th of this year. We were able to pick the dress up yesterday!!! My daughter called over 2 months ago and was told "waiting to be shipped". I called a month later and was told the same thing and that there was an issue with another bride's dress whose wedding was before my daughter's . That is not my concern or should matter. I was also told by the owner MaryBeth that "we are cutting it close" and she would see what was going on. I made sure she knew that I would take further action if needed. The tracking number for the dress was provided within 2 days and was not even shipped priority but took a week to get there. My daughter had to call them to set up a fitting. I truly believe if she did not call, they would not have contacted her until after April 1st ( the shop is closed 3/22 until 4/1). When questioning the time frame for fitting and alterations the second time, MaryBeth stated " there is plenty of time for that" ,contradicting herself. We picked up the dress and chose to not have the seamstress, (who was a lovely lady and helpful, more than the owner), do the alterations. Marybeth was there and did not offer a single apology and did not speak more than a few words. The service received here was the worst experience I could imagine any bride going through. My daughter did her research prior and the reviews were good. Ladies do not choose this retailer unless you plan on staying On top of them each step of the way and want to listen to BS . Did I mention that I myself was able to contact the company that the dress was ordered from once the tracking was provided and was told by a great representative there that the dress was only recently ordered and paid for!? Whether you choose to pay $500 or close to $3k like we did, keep your eyes on the prize with this company ! Don't let them add extra stress to one of the most important days of your life. Shame on you Koda Bridal and MaryBeth. How in the hell have you not gone out of business yet? SMDH that day does not seem far off for you. read more

Thank God I found this place. These ladies helped me so much when I was in a bind at the last minute. When my dress came in that I ordered from another bridal store was not correct and they basically left me without a dress for my sons wedding Koda bridal was there to help me. They even went so far as to look at the dress I already had to see what they could do to help me. They spent so much time with me and were so kind and professional!! As a busty, but not quite plus size girl, shopping is always a struggle for me. When I called ahead to make sure they would have dresses for me, they politely assured me they would and made an evening appointment to help with my packed schedule. Mary Beth greeted us and was so nice and knowledgeable. She has TONS of dresses, I did not feel like I was trying on plus-size anything. I have been all over the city looking for a dress to wear for my Vow Renewal. Being married for 25 years is a huge accomplishment and I needed a dress for this special occasion. Being a Plus Size chick makes the search hard. Designers only like to design for single digit sized women. To say that section is limited is an understatement. Then the heavens opened and I found myself at Koda. The owner of the store, Mary Beth, greeted me and asked the occasion I was shopping for. She then showed me a wall of gowns. I selected several to try on. I would slip into a dress and Mary Beth would use clips to make it fit my body. Having the dress fit correctly makes a big difference when trying them on. Mary Beth quickly saw the style I was leaning toward and started pulling dresses for me. Her choices were better than mine! It was very nice having such a big selection to choose from and amazing to have someone working one on one with me. Mary Beth and I talked color choices and we were very much on the same wave length. She also showed my undergarments to help smooth out my figure under the dress. I didn't go upstairs to the bridal gowns but Mary Beth said she had lots of accessories up there. On my next trip I'll be checking those out. I DO love bling! If you are a curvy girl and need a wedding dress, brides maid dress(se), mother of the bride dress, special occasion dress or even a cocktail dress, this is the place for you! Koda has it all! Mary Beth and her were the best of the absolute best! I can't thank the staff there enough for helping me find the dress of my dreams back on 9/27/14. The two women that were there that day were so much fun and they both were unbelievably helpful, honest, and accommodating. They were also patient and understood that my visit to Koda was the first time I had ever tried wedding dresses on. My mom, godmother/aunt, and my cousin were there as well and we all had so much fun. Visiting Koda was extra special for me and my family because my mom grew up right around the corner of Koda on Peermont Ave (my godmother/aunt and cousin still live there in the house that's been in my family for over 50 years). My parents and practically all the couples in my large Irish family worked, met, and fell in love at the Red Bull Inn Restaurant that was only a few blocks down from Koda on West Liberty Ave. They ripped the building a few years ago and replaced it with a Kia car dealership I think. lol All of those couples, including my parents, were also married at St Bernard's across the street from Koda. I was baptized there as well, lol. My experience with Koda was absolutely magical not only because of your wonderful staff but because as I was standing on the circle platform upstairs in Koda, wearing the dress of my dreams, I got a glimpse of where the Red Bull Inn once stood. That building/area holds so many fun memories and stories that I've grown up with and cherish so much. I knew in that moment that Koda was perfect, the dress was perfect, and that's exactly where I was supposed to be. A few family members that met/fell in love in those few blocks have since passed away and in some small way, I truly felt that they helped guide me to your boutique to help me find the dress of my dreams so I could experience that surreal moment. That might be overly dramatic but I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating such an awesome place for women of all sizes to feel at home while looking for the dress that they've dreamed of all their lives because that's exactly how I felt when it all came together as I stood on that pedestal. Koda bridal is an amazing and wonderful shop!!! From the moment I walked in I felt so special. Being a plus size bride comes with its challenges because a lot of gown shops don't have plus size samples; however that was not the case at Koda!! The ladies made me feel so comfortable and found me the perfect dress! I worked with Sari and Christine. Both of the ladies were cognizant of my price range and offered up great suggestions for my dress!! Also, Jenna the seamstress does amazing work. She took her time and really did a fantastic job making sure everything was perfect!! I'd highly recommend looking at Koda! They have a ton of different styles and price points!! read more

My experience at Koda Bridal was quite UNDERWELMING to say the least. I don't know if MaryBeth was having a bad day but the customer service left a lot to be desired. She treated me as if I was wasting her time, when i am spending $1600 dollars on a gown I at least expect to be treated like a human being. I actually ended up ordering the dress I tried on at Koda but from another bridal shop. The building the store is in is very choppy and the building has a very musty smell to it. I will say that the store does carry some very beautiful gowns but if you are a larger plus size bride its not worth the trip. read more

I had to deal with koda bridal as a bridesmaid. I am very unhappy with the service and experience. I do not feel they are "reasonable" or "affordable" the place is in a busted up old building on the inside and their selection is about as big as my personal closet. The gown the bride chose did not come in my size so koda ordered more fabric in case it did not fit. Turns out dress fits and yet I still had to pay $60 for the extra fabric. Which looks like bolt extras that are ripped up on the ends. Neither one of these prices are the same size nor a yard in length. Not sure how the whole dress costs $210 yet they gouged me for $60 on shreds of fabric. Had these shreds actually been decent cuts I wouldn't have had a problem paying for them. Alterations are also outrageous. I am having to pay $95 for shoulder tuck and hem. Making this whole dress $376 dollars. Not affordable at all. Plus I live two hours away and they don't seem to care. I asked if I could pick up my dress early bc I would be in the area and owner called me and said no. Very very unhappy with service and I would not recommend this dive to anyone. read more
