If you are looking for clean lines and detailed work then Kodak Paint is not for you. We had hired Kodak Paint to paint our staircase spindles and rails along with the kitchen cabinets. The painting method was spray painting which we were not informed in the beginning. Not only we weren't informed but the paint technicians did not create a barrier between the kitchen and living/dining rooms (we have an open kitchen floor plan). By not creating a barrier, spray paint "dusts" were literally all over our living room, infant toys/high chair/bouncer- pretty much EVERYTHING in the house (sofa, wall decors, walls, you get it...) The owner apologized after the technicians probably expressed how livid I was after coming home to paint dust everywhere. The owner said he didn't realized how dusty it was going to be (really? like is this his first job?). The mess were cleaned so moving on the stairs. For the stairs we did a white/black look for a modern feel. With the contrast, I was unease when no painter tape were used when painting the spindles. Since no painter tape were used, obviously we did not achieve the fine, clean lines that we hired a professional paint company to accomplish. With that said, you can look at the pictures below. Imagined every other spindles looking like the pictures. Enough said. Once again no barrier was created from the stairs to the loft so everything in the loft were covered in spray paint dust. The worst part was the carpet. We didn't get to kick back and enjoy the work that were being done. I mean you would think so after hiring a "professional" paint company and spending thousands of dollars right...? We are happy that the job is done but when time permits, we will have to fix some unprofessional painting. Overall, Kodak Paint achieved uneven paint lines, not detailed oriented and semi-unprofessional. The work looks great from a distance but up-close the unprofessional painting shows. 2.5 rating for getting the job done and trying to fix the uneven lines. read more

Nate was responsive and got the job done on time even though he had a couple of emergencies pop up last minute. He painted our rental house, so we weren't looking for perfection and he was priced right. There was a little overspray on the brand new tile and he turned the old refrigerator on its side and used it as a table which was a pain to get back upright. His drywall repair guy was good and also reasonably priced. Nate said he could fix my doors, which were pretty beat down by the previous tenant, but the repairs were not any better than I could have done. read more

This guy was awesome! He did a really good job on my house. Great price too. He did most of the work himself with some help. He liked making sure it's done right. He did a lot of above and beyond work for no extra charge. He took a little longer then a normal painters do. That's okay though!! It's done right and the lines are excellent. Nothing to come touch up after, he didn't over spray anything. Super cool dude and he works his tail off. If you want it done right and not just painted cheap and ugly, you have to go with Kodiak. I'm very impressed and honestly the paint quality and look (3 coats 4 in some other areas) are better then any other paint jobs in my neighborhood. This is the paint company you are looking for! I asked for several quotes from the top Yelp review companies. Nate (Kodiak Paint) was the only company to quickly respond via text (preferred method) and was the only company to provide a detailed PDF quote with pictures. This also explained everything you were paying for and included a couple of additional options (such as updating your gate with synthetic wood). The other companies felt like they were pulling quotes out of the air - Kodiak's quote was VERY reasonable. I was able to go to work with no worry about meeting Nate for a quote and did not have to be home for the painters. They were very professional, took time to prep properly, and always left the house cleaned up. Other homes in our area had wavy lines on the exterior. Not these guys, perfect lines and properly taped around windows, etc. Throughout the process Nate was great with communication and they even did a final walk around in case there were any touch ups needed. His crew caught a couple little spots that I didn't even notice. 10/10 would recommend. Painting is a big project and I'll use Nate/Kodiak paint for the interior of my house as well. I hired Kodiak Paint to paint the entire interior of my 2800 sq ft home a brighter white than our builder grade ivory- nothing complicated, just one paint color on walls/ceilings/doors/trims. I knew going into this project that it would be a huge undertaking, but Nate (the company owner) seemed confident that his crew could handle the job. Unfortunately, the work and follow-through was merely average, not outstanding. The crew was friendly and worked hard, but made mistakes (which I understand can happen on a job this big): imprecise edges, paint on the floor/cabinetry, missing an outlet cover (was replaced) and toilet paper holder (was not replaced) etc. The job was mostly completed with a sprayer which left a massive mess (paint dust is still being found months later). However, my chief complaint had to do with a repaired ceiling crack located dead center in my great room. The repair job was particularly poor and Nate agreed during our final walk through that it needed to be re-finished. He set up an appointment for the repair, but his worker didn't show up once and cancelled another time. I felt I was patient, polite, and understanding, but unfortunately Nate has chosen not to complete the job as promised (and is no longer responding to my texts). Now I am stuck with a botched repair in the most obvious and visible part of my house. I am disappointed in his lack of follow through and professionalism. The price was right, but I would only recommend this company if you have a small, simple job, and even then, buyer beware. read more
