We finally gave in to the HOA and started the process of selecting a highly rated exterior painting Co. PAL Painting floated to the top based on their Yelp rating and their competetive bid and also being local to our location in Chandler. Once we selected our color scheme and got approval from the HOA, the guys at PAL got to work. The house was given a proper power wash first, then the painting started a couple days later. Adam, Nevada, along with Bernie the job foreman, and the rest of the crew, did outstanding and professional work completing the job very timely. As the painting progressed, an issue on our roof came up due to a past microburst that swept through the neighborhood that we were aware of but had not yet addressed. Nevada assessed the issue and quoted a very reasonable fix and completed the fix along with his son, and now our roof looks and functions better and we are ready for anything the monsoon season throws at us. We needed my mom's house painted (interior) because the old color was fine but a bit dark. In order to spruce it up for sale, our realtor recommended we consider painting it. I reviewed multiple painting companies on Yelp and google. I got quotes from 3 in person and PAL Painting stood out from everyone else. Their rate was actually comparable to the others but I think what stood out for me was Nevada's approach when he came to our house. He later described it as being a straight shooter and that's actually right. There's no bull -- he does what he says. He's not going to pretend in any way and honestly he was super nice and he seemed to understand everything on my plate with getting a house ready. He suggested the paint color, brand and finish and gave me a rationale why. Other companies just deferred to me (which is nice) and suggested I go to a paint shop. Honestly, I just needed a hand with things -- Nevada recognized that and just got 'er done. But he wasn't pushy and I'm certain that if I had a specific color in mind, he would have proceeded with that color. In my case, I just appreciated the help. He and his colleague Omar re-arranged schedules to get the interior areas that were most visible, ready for an open-house. They made sure the darker color was covered, did a walk through with my realtor, sent me pictures throughout the process and honestly did a phenomenal job and got everything done in a reasonable amount of time for the price they quoted. Adam answered my call on a Saturday morning and came out early the following week to give me a quote to paint our house and stucco'd block wall. I received two other quotes of recommended painters from my neighbors as well. While Adam didn't provide a formal written quote like the others (he did confirm everything in writing via text messages which I was comfortable with), he agreed to make any necessary repairs, use quality paint and ensure I was happy with the results...which I was. I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was with Pal Painting! My stucco needed a lot of TLC, and the price was more reasonable than I thought it would be to prep and paint my home. From my first contact with Adam, I knew it would be good. He was one of two people that actually gave me an estimate over the app before scheduling an in person free estimate. I really don't know what to make of Adam. During the first 6 months of 2024, he's been to the house twice for exterior paint estimates, yet we never got anything from him in writing as far as an actual detailed estimate. He provided dollar figures via text, but that doesn't cut it with me when it comes to selecting a contractor. I have come across several contractors that operate in a manner to provide a price and then say if they're selected they'll provide a written estimate. That doesn't cut it. I don't operate that way. It's my project so it's my rules. Written estimate first, then I make a decision. I went to the trouble of preparing a scope of work with photos, sent it to him and allowed him to look at the property when it was convenient for him. He seemed to get his panties in a knot about a specific brand of paint and went silent. I asked him to bid the work with whatever paint he proposed. Still silence. He wasted our time, twice. He may be a good painter, but he'll never paint anything for me. read more
