A majority of my closet is clothes from Kohl's. I love their selection and price. What really impresses me is their coupons and incentives. When you have Kohl's cash, and their coupons, and use their credit card, you can leave with some real bargains. At this location you can return Amazon purchases but their signage needs improvement. It's solid spot for shopping. The store is clean and well-organized, with a good variety of clothing, home goods, and seasonal items. Prices are reasonable, especially with coupons and sales, and the Kohl's Cash program is a nice perk. Do not return Amazon items here, they claimed to have scanned all four of my returns but I ended up only getting a refund for 3. I kept asking the young male employee if he correctly scanned all 4 QR codes because I could see he was struggling. I called back the next day after not seeing the refund and the lady gave me attitude saying it was my fault for not reading the confirmation receipt but I assumed they would've done it correctly The lady on the phone was super rude, had an attitude the entire phone call, cut me off and said "let me talk" and then proceeded to say it wasn't their employees fault but my own. DEAR LORD... Be prepared to self check out unless you want to wait HOURS in a line where there are literally 5 registers manned by 1-2 people. I am SO done with Kohl's and their deplorable customer "service." Seems as though this chain perpetually promotes their "Biggest sale of the year!" and "Lowest prices of the season!" My Missus found an outfit she wanted to purchase, but it was too small - she needed the next size up. Riffling through the disorganized racks, she could not find any in a larger size and there was absolutely no one in that department to ask for help. We spotted a worker in a nearby department, but her "help" amounted to pointing us towards the Customer Service desk. Once there, we waited in a long line that moved glacially. Finally, a rep grudgingly looked up the item on the computer, told her they had no other size in stock, and no other nearby store had it, either. But ... it was available through Kohls.com. Now, if Kohl's cared the least about customer retention, the rep might have said, "No problem, I will be glad to order one for you, and I'll text or email you when it comes in." Nope! Instead, she suggested that my Missus go on the computer and order it online herself. At the full non-discounted price PLUS shipping. Today's experience gets ZERO stars. I had a very bad experience today returning some luggage I purchased online. I had my phone which provided all the info from purchase to delivery. Their computer wasn't recognizing the Order # no matter how many times they scanned the item. A manager and the store manager were of no help. They asked for my license, phone #, and the order # multiple times. Finally the store manager was going to give me a refund for less than amount paid. I refused. He claimed he could not change the computer. Mind you the info regarding this purchase was on my phone. He knew exactly the total amount I paid. Bad customer service is an understatement. I've worked at Kohl's and shopped there since they opened in the Chicagoland area. No more. I'm done. They could have easily done a proper refund. Supposedly a refund was done with Kohl's customer service over the phone. I did not get a receipt. I have a reference #. I will be confirming a refund has been processed. I should not have to jump through hoops to return and get a refund on Kohl's merchandise bought in store or online. read more

Over the years, I've shopped at Kohl's for shoe purchases, as well as casual clothing and shirts for the workplace. As time wore on, the pricing has climbed and the availability of those items has thinned. So on that basis, they're not too reliable and I don't stop by as often. These days, I go for the occasional bedding or bathroom item. Product selection is hit or miss and you may have to walk around a while before finding the item you need. It's worth noting that Kohl's accepts Amazon returns free of charge, and you don't even need to package a box for it. That's a good service to offer, especially since this store is right down the road from me. I recently went in to process an Amazon return, and I received 5 dollars in Kohl's cash to redeem on my next purchase. Customer service is ordinary, the associates don't necessarily go above and beyond. But it's a clean and quiet environment, and my needs are usually met. read more

Older department store with aging entrance and ambiance. The atmosphere does not entice one to stay and shop. What is worse are these awful and dated digital black/gray price tags - who thought it was a good idea?! They make the atmosphere degraded, bleak, unwelcome, and just unpleasant. The only saving grace is the Amazon returns, obviously located all the way in the back of the store. I was hoping that these people had more sense that they actually do!! I was expecting that DANGEROUS shiny tile that you can see in other peoples posts to have been replaced with SLIP RESISTANT flooring thats MUCH SAFER. Il bet a lawsuit when someone is seriously injured will convince them. When I was in high school I slipped on a floor like this, was knocked out & had a concision from hitting the back of my head on the tile that was laid on a cement slab. Ever since then I have been aware of dangerous floors like this. I couldnt imagine if an elderly person fell on that floor like the one I did FYI. read more

I came here with my friend, Imelda. The first area that we go to is the Makeup section. While she was choosing I will go to another area in the makeup section. I'm in the lipsticks station. I would like to buy a matte colored lipstick. After that I went to the makeup kit. They have new brands and sets of makeup. It was pretty and it had nice colors but the price was expensive. I would like to try it but it costs a lot. So Imelda purchased one and I just borrowed it from her. After we paid our purchase we just roamed around. Then we bought a dress, skirt and blouse. We spend 3 hours here after we go home. We bought everything we needed. Well definitely come back here again. read more

REVIEW DATE - 11/06/2008 They have very good customer service. Although the store has been designed with many narrow area's that a wheelchair or power wheelchair may not be able to fit in. The bathroom stalls are very accessible. Fine if you are in a wheelchair and mostly do end cap shopping. A bit troublesome if you are the dig around in the nooks type of person (which I don't shop much to begin with!) The shoes are heavily overpriced along with the electronics and appliances. Although it's not as big as some of the other Kohls locations, their quality is good and they always have sales. It helps to have a kohls charge card. I don't shop there for shoes though and sometimes the checkout lines are long. All in all, I do 90% of my shopping there. Also they are very good about returns. read more

I asked if she could please call someone as the line was to the door. As we're the only 2 cashiers with 50 or more people in line. Great location. Store is usually well stocked, clothes neatly displayed. I can always find something stylish that fits pretty well, and pull an ensemble or two together, without breaking the bank. I had a great time shopping in this beautiful store. Clean, great staff & bargains! The staff was the most welcoming, friendly and helpful I've ever encountered in a chain department store. I like the relaxed atmosphere of this store. Quick to the point, when my wife was checking out, the lady tricked my wife into signing up for a credit card. She said it was signing up for there points card and nothing else. When I checked the paperwork , it was for a credit card. We went in to complain why she has lied about the points card and actually being a credit card. She said she never said anything like this and told my wife about the apr and credit limit. She just denied everything and was like "maybe you can't understand because I talk fast?" So because I'm asian, I can't understand you? I don't really shop at Kohl's much. But I ran in here to pick something up, and it's a fairly nice Kohl's as far as Kohl's go. It's a large store. Seems to have a fair amount of stock. They seem to have great sales. This location was bright and clean, and there were enough people working the checkout counters. And the hours are great! read more

I've shopped at this location a few times and every time there happened to be a sale in progress. Who knows, maybe Kohl's runs sales all the time. When you need a quick gift and looking to spend money on quality clothes without the department store prices, Kohl's will do. FYI if your looking for shirts for Dad, the easy wear, front shirt pocket they have got them here. Not specifically this location, but at Kohl's in general. This location I like because it doesn't look as rough as other higher shopped locations. I.E the HIP in Chicago, which used to have the highest rate of theft from customers and employees. . Fitting rooms normally messy, they don't give numbers for customers to track clothing so people just leave their stuff in there. Competitive prices and staff is nice. KOHLS-ARLINGTON HEIGHTS is a NIGHTMARE!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, STAY AWAY!! Shopped at another Kohls location on Sunday by my house. Spent $140, so I got $20 in Kohls cash ($10 for every $50 spent) which I could use the next day. The cashier lady advised I bring back the receipt to get a price adjustment on the items that took me over $100, so I could use my Kohls cash on those. Went to Arlington Heights location next day to do the price adjustment. The man kept telling me it was against corporate policy to do the adjustment without the actual items. I told him to use the barcode on the receipt, and he kept arguing with me. Then another lady stepped in, and was trying to say I would lose my Kohls cash if I did a "return" on the items, and I kept trying to explain that the items were within the $40 overage, and I would still retain my $20. These people were morons and couldn't understand simple math and logic. I don't like to waste my time on stupidity. They asked if I wanted to speak to a manager, I said "No, I'll just go back to the location by my house, because they NEVER give me problems, you people are just RIDICULOUS!" I went back to the location by my house, and they did the adjustment, hassle-free, WITHOUT THE PHYSICAL ITEMS, no problems! WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE IN THE WORLD!! Oh, and I also told them I used to work for Kohls! They're Company Policy is "YES WE CAN", they never are supposed to say "NO WE CAN'T" to a customer, THAT IS THEIR POLICY!! What a s..tshow!! Cashiers are rude and fighting you against all discounts possible as if they were paying for them! The manager that came, he doesn't care about the customers. I payed for all my items except the one in question, I sent my wife to start the car thinking it will be just a moment fixing their mistake, instead this guy shows up and says I need to look at the prices more carefully, even though the displayed price was in big letters right there on the shelf above all the items!! I spent only $100 because I was in a hurry and was planning to come back Monday to stock up on spring clothes but I can find much better service elsewhere. read more

Kohl's is one of my favorite places to shop for clothes. The prices are great and they have a good selection of everything. I usually get shirts and pants here. The sales are frequent and they even send out great coupons. I like how it is self serve. You can try on any clothes you like and no one bothers you unless you ask for help. I find the selection is pretty good for the most part, but sometimes they don't have certain items in my size. Overall the store is well kept. I highly recommend it if you need some decent clothes for a good price. read more

Fair to shop, horrible to work at. Overall we all know where Kohl's sits as far as quality. It's somewhere between Target and stuff like Nordstroms....probably on par with like Old Navy and the likes. You'll find Lee, Levi, stuff like that. As with any clothing store if you come when it's crowded everything''s going to be a mess. If you come when it's not, things are expectedly kept pretty tidy. Kohls itself can be a good value if people watch when the sales are going on (just check the ads, reserve your stuff every week until the sale starts, and come early, cause the crowd will be there otherwise). Really if you continually put your stuff on hold, they can't stop you and you have it secure until the next big sale of like 10-30%. Note that Kohl's will never really offer more than 30% off and they will drop things to clearance given enough time on the shelves. Stay away from any and all forms of appliances and electronics as they are way overpriced at Kohls and marked up. Now, from a workers perspective, its horrible. The pay is at or below minimum wage (most likely below), and the benefits are non-existent except for one significant one: that they (back when I worked there) gave you company stock starting after a year. Meanwhile, I don't think my pay even reached 7.50/hr after a year, thats how bad it was. It's also very "performance based" and that takes into account 100% of the amount of days you missed regardless of emergency/validity. Also hours completely suck. Be expected to come in before the store opens or stay after it's closed, because thats retail and how retail works. Management positions on the other hand, pay pretty well from what I understand, and have a bonus for the profit the store makes. So expect management to be cashing in pretty well beyond being compensated well to begin with! I also should add that as any retail store, you'll have a lot of hot customers and generally some/most of the people that work there will be pretty attractive too. I ordered a pair of sandals online to be picked up at this store. I needed them for my trip that is coming up in 5 days. Drove 50 mi one way for them (since this was the only Kohls in my area that had them), picked up a box, and at home discovered that they were wrong color! Called the store, and they said that the right color was out of stock! No apology at all! They were completely unhelpful as if it wasn't their fault that they gave me the wrong product. I have to keep these shoes for my trip because I have no time to shop anymore, but I hate the color, and I feel ripped off. read more

This location is a little bit slow in service otherwise the store is clean and the selection is pretty good. Since it's right next to a Portillos, it can be a bit busier than other locations at times. After some remodeling, they do look a bit more like something between Sears and Macy's now but with better prices. read more

What on earth is going on in this store!? I shopped on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm. The store was in total disarray. I have never seen such a mess in a store that wasn't having a going out of business sale. (Maybe shades of things to come). I was browsing in the ladies clothing area and was all but pushed out of the aisle by a store associate who was putting clothes on a rack. I went to the lingerie area where I usually browse the sale rack. It was absolutely impossible to even look. There was a pile of underwear at least a foot high on the floor. The racks were no better. From the looks of the area, it has been some time since this area was attended to. The shoe department was much the same. With other big name department stores closing, this would be the perfect opportunity for Kohl's to step up their "A" game and cater to a whole new group of customers. read more

This store has been remodeled since the last time I shopped there. The store is bright and clean. However, some of the areas are somewhat messy, but what can you expect when you're shopping at a retail store? The particular pair of socks I was looking for was not out on the floor and I couldn't find someone in the department so I just ended up buying another kind. My only complaint with my shopping experience was that there was an employee by the front of the registers acting as a line monitor. It wasn't like the store was SUPER busy (like during the holidays) when I think it would be needed. In my opinion, he would have been more helpful if he was working a cash register! Also, just listening to the interaction by him and the cashiers, I found out that no one was working in the lingerie section (presumably also the accessories section where I was) so that explains why I couldn't find anyone to help me with my sock problem. But eh, what can you do? Overall, decent store and would come back. read more

This Kohls has terrible service but all kohls pretty much do. It took me about 10-15 minutes to checkout because the cashier did not know what she was doing. There was a long dispute over my Kohls Card. I did not have the Kohls Card with me as I've generally only had to tell Cashiers my phone number but for some reason she didn't know what I was talking about how to handle it. The cashier stated that she accidentally cancelled my transaction and I had to enter my SSN multiple times which made me feel uncomfortable and made me believe that I was being double charged. The cashier laughed at me every time I expressed discomfort to her and asking her simple questions. I then wanted to pay my card in the store because I did not want it to be put on my statement. The cashier required assistance from the manager because it seemed like she did not know what she was doing. When the charge was done, I wanted to speak to the manager about whether or not they can check if my card was cleared and paid out due to the fact that the cashier had no idea what she was doing. They did not help me at all and just said "no." Ultimately, the customer service in this store was just absolutely pathetic. And Kohls in general just doesn't care for its customers. Even when I sent them an email of my dissatisfaction they told me they'd respond to me in 5 business days and they never did. I had to call multiple times and none of them could help me either.
