I came with little clothing in hopes to find some cute things to wear in Memphis for the weekend. Of course, my first stop was The Loft. I will be honest and say that I have gained a few pounds this year and was looking for a size XL top and 16 jean. Again, never a problem finding these sizes....EVER. To my dismay and surprise, they did not have these sizes. I asked a store employee for assistance. This particular employee, whom I hoped would be friendly and helpful, began to tell me that "we do not have enough square footage for those sizes at this store". Okay, that's fine...I guess? I was a bit taken aback. And of course feeling very embarrassed and insecure when she announced this to the ENTIRE store....meaning, she was not quiet about it. Needless to say, I left my FAVORITE store in TEARS. A store who has been there for me for years and never steers me wrong....disappointed me. Shame on your employees. If anything, she could've had a little more respect for my feelings and have the decency to show some compassion. But alas, she did not. She was also not apologetic or anything and just said well you can just return it and get your money back. The people I dealt with lack customer service and any type of assistance. Horrible! We had 4 pair of shoes for the kids and when we got to the register the cashier says "you know that these aren't part of the sale?". Nope, didn't know that... When I first walked in, the first staff member was not very nice. She was quick and snappy and really made me want to walk out; however, the other lady that was there changed the mood quickly. She was pleasant, patient, and very kind to me and my little one that was with me. This is the reason I'm giving them a 4 star. In the end, I was very satisfied with my purchase. The value is great!
