Awesome studio! We stumbled upon this place after one of our hikes on the way up near Hopi house. A nice place to shop and browse their art collection that is focused around the Grand Canyon (of course). There's a gift shop here that is very cute and has a lot of fun little mementos, great staff, and you can stamp your national parks passport here too! Would recommend coming here if you're in the area!

This is more of a gift shop than art gallery. The downstairs has memorabilia and historical information. Some landscape painting were on display. It would have been nice to see some of the brothers' work. It is a hop skip away from the Bright Angel trailhead. Nice canyon views.

My husband and I stopped here as we were making all the stops in the Grand Canyon. Most have the same merchandise for purchase. This stop was cool to see the old cameras.

An interesting museum to visit for a quick, free, 20 minute stop. Little-known history about the park, as well as good history info for photography enthusiasts.

Artwork on display on loan.

Neat little stop on our tour of the Southern Rim. Free admission to the studio exhibit in the downstairs is totally worth the time.

It features a huge plate glass window with a better view of the canyon than Mather Point (my personal opinion) without the hassle of Mather Point crowds. There are exhibits explaining the layers (and associated timelines) of the canyon, and the unique features of different parts of the canyon and how the power of the Colorado river has shaped the Geology and life of the canyon. It is located on the "Rim Trail" and hikers stop here frequently. It is also on one of the shuttle bus routes from the main parking lot. Part of the building houses a nice, but compact, gift shop. Prices are the same as other gift shops in the park. There are handicapped parking spots down the hill from the museum, near the bathrooms (a free standing building). The only challenge is that is a steep paved grade from the parking lot to the museum, so my friend with a walker had to work pretty hard to push her walker up the hill.

Despite the crowds, everything was fairly well organized considering the number of visitors. We enjoyed the short walk from the visitor center to Mather Point. The views are absolutely incredible and it's one of the best places to admire and photograph the Grand Canyon. The parking lot is huge, but signage indicated it definitely fills up during busy times. Thankfully, we arrived later in the day, so parking wasn't an issue for us. Overall, even with the crowds, it's a well-run visitor center and a great place to begin your Grand Canyon adventure.

It's actually funny - the visitor center itself is pretty sparse, but large. I think the message is…read moreto get out and enjoy the Canyon instead of reading about things. It probably also helps with crowd control - the Grand Canyon is in the top 10 most visited national parks. Go to the center for help at the ranger desk, get your passport stamp, and for the film. There are informational boards outside with information about hiking, trail conditions, and maps. The bathrooms are in a separate building, as are the gift shop, and bike rental with a cafe. It's clever to separate all the amenities so the buildings don't get flooded with people; rather it's all split out with a central outdoor area. Just a little far out are the stops for the shuttle system.

I believe it does include some older IMAX footage but you couldn't tell by the image quality. The sound design is excellent and some of the scenes were quite exciting. The seats are in great condition and so is the screen: no tears or damage. The sound quality is amazing. This is in better condition than the Tempe IMAX. My teenager said it was better than expected (high praise). I am an A/V nerd that watched a lot of IMAX in CA in the 90s. This show and theater are worth the money. During your visit you are probably going to see what the canyon will look like in one day, this presentation shows the canyon in all seasons, top and bottom. The restaurant and gift shop are in good condition, too. I am not a Native American; my opinion is that the discussion of the people that have lived in the canyon wasn't disrespectful or condescending. There is one line that says, "this is an unfortunate part of our shared history." I am writing this review because I almost didn't go because of some of the older reviews. I'm glad we did. It looks like the management has been appropriately reinvesting in the Grand Canyon IMAX Theater.

The center has been here for 15 years and exists primarily to display artifacts recovered from a single site in the area. This is extremely rare as most sites have been pillaged by pot hunters over the last 100+ years, and this site was privately owned and protected for many decades. I was honored to received what was basically a private tour of the facility by the executive director Monica Buckle. She took her time and provided much detail to give an excellent overview of this facility. Thank you so much Monica! The entire Verde Valley area is a much overlooked archaeology gem in the history of our country & this facility champions the learning and understanding of this unique place. If you're ever in the area, I strongly recommend a visit. Please note the visiting hours change for the summer season so be sure to research this first.

We chose the guided free tour which lasted about an hour and was quite thorough. I really enjoyed the quality of items on display and learning about the artifacts.
