An event space review: So, I've never been here for like a regular Saturday night and I've never actually hosted an event here but, I've been to this space for a few local Hoboken events and I've also been here for a private tour and the end result: It's aesthetically amazing. I've recommended at least one friend to get married here (and they are) and as far as event spaces go this one is damn fine with a max capacity of about 200 people. Mutli room all with beautiful wood floors, dark leather couches, dim lighting, brick walls. Wow. Definitely Prague in the 1940's. Definitely one of the hipper locations I've been in Hoboken. The cocktail list is extensive and is of the "mixologist" type. They are pricey $11-$13 or so but, that's how much fancy cocktails cost these days. Womp womp. I really can't talk about ambiance on a regular night since I've never been but for an event space, this place is truly dark, romantic and a super cool spot in Hoboken definitely a must stop and see when planning a special event, wedding, bday, fundraiser. (I have no clue on pricing/rental so good luck). read more

Had my wedding here 7.22.18. It truly was the BEST DAY EVER! I can't say enough about this beautiful place. The whole wedding planning went so smooth. Vince took such great care of me & my husband from the first meeting to the day of the wedding. Melissa was by my side from the moment I walked in on my wedding day, making sure I had a bite to eat & kept me hydrated. She was amazing! Our entire day was a dream. Vince had amazing surprises up his sleeve & we are beyond grateful for to him for answering all our questions & opening the venue to us whenever we needed. Anyone considering using this venue for any reason, I'd say YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Our guests couldn't stop raving about the food, ambiance & how attentive the staff was. RUN away - no attention to detail, no designated event manager, and if something goes wrong, you will receive no apology or explanation. Their glaring incompetence was shocking and unacceptable. We booked our October 22, 2022 wedding in May 2021. The event managers at the time were knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions and concerns, so the decision seemed right (sadly, they both ended up leaving before our wedding). After that, getting any answers from the venue was like pulling teeth. From March 2022 to May or June they had a new event manager named Kevin who was entirely non-responsive so I started including the restaurant group manager Adam on emails. Eventually, Kevin disappeared. In July 2022, I met Adam in person. He assured me that he would adhere to all the promises made previously and we went through a list of questions I had. I asked to schedule a tasting and finalize the menu/pricing for our October wedding and he explained that they should have a fall menu by mid-August. It seemed like we had turned over a new leaf and were moving in a positive direction. Mid-August came and went, and I reached out asking about the menu which Adam indicated would be ready by September 2-3. From 8/30 to 9/7 multiple emails were sent without anything being scheduled. Somehow, my wedding planner got contact information for another staff member from another wedding planner and was able to get us in for a tasting on September 22. We did not receive final menus, alcohol lists, or pricing until literally the week of our wedding. In multiple forms of communication, the venue assured us they had enough tables for our guests and that they could provide freezer storage for our custom ice cream cakes. On Friday 10/21, I personally delivered the cakes out of a cooler bag to a member of the Kolo Klub staff and told them they were ice cream cakes and they needed to go in the freezer. She took them into the back herself and made me wait in the hallway so I did not see where they were stored. Come wedding day, we had issue after issue. There were not enough chairs set up for the guests for the ceremony so people were standing all over the back of the room. The venue had promised they had enough tables to seat our guests, yet two tables were sat around coffee tables. The bartenders were all making the specialty cocktails differently. During the speeches, there was loud music BLARING from the Pilsener Haus downstairs so people could not hear the speeches. The buffet took forever to be re-filled. And finally, the venue RUINED ALL FIVE of our custom ice cream cakes AND DID NOT TELL US AT FIRST OR APOLOGIZE. These were gorgeous, custom cakes from Torico in Jersey City that looked like amethyst geodes. I only found out because I asked a server to have the cakes taken out so my photographer could take pictures of them before they were cut and I was told something like "there was an incident and there were no cakes." As you can imagine, I was irate. The venue had upheld ZERO of their promises and now had destroyed our desserts that we paid for out of pocket and hand-delivered. I had NO WEDDING CAKE. There was no manager or head staff member on hand handling this situation and no apology. There were no proposed solutions of how they were going to provide dessert for our guests. In fact, my brother-in-law went out to a bakery and purchased cookies with his own money. I demanded to be repaid the money I spent on the cakes, and my brother-in-law insisted a staff member retrieve cash to compensate us, which thankfully happened. At some point what looked like a supermarket ice cream cake appeared. I am not sure if the venue eventually sent someone to get the cake or one of my other relatives got it. It has been two months since the wedding and I still have received no apology or information on what happened, despite a staff member saying "someone would be in touch." If I could do it over, I would never have hosted my wedding here. read more

We came here for a friend of ours baby's christening. It is a very nice place. We had 90 people at the party and there was still so much available space. We loved the decor, it had a rustic, old warehouse feel. It really made the place look sharp. The bartenders and waitstaff were great. We really enjoyed them walking around with many different appetizers and kept coming back to us with the "extra good" food. If we lived closer we would definitely use this place for a party spot of our own. read more

My wife and I had our wedding reception here Sept 28, 2019. Vince and his crew crushed it. The customized menu was perfect (we went BBQ), the servers were professional - and professionally dressed, the bartenders were amazing (we had 3 I believe) and the drinks were better than any drinks you've ever had at any wedding. The venue was so well prepared and so well run - and unique in the best ways - that we couldn't have been happier. In terms of process, Vince loves his work and it shows. We asked a lot of him - and made a ton of changes weekly to the menu - and he was always helpful, responsive and accommodating. I couldn't recommend Kolo Klub and Vince more highly. Kolo Klub is one of those places you will never simply stumble upon and is a hidden gem in the back end of Hoboken. You will not see a storefront for the place; it is located above the Pilsener Haus. The Kolo Klub has a great atmosphere. Honestly I can not find the right words to accurately describe what its like. They do run with the bicycle theme (that's what "kolo" means) and it has both a classic and hipster feel, if that makes sense. The food tastes great. They mostly serve fancier dishes like pate. You can tell they take great care with every plate. Last time I was here, there were 3 beers on draft at $7 a pop. They also sell bottles ranging from $6-$10. However, the real draw is the cocktails the bartenders whip up. If you do not have at least one, you ignoring the best feature of the Kolo Klub. I have been here for small, unorganized birthday celebrations and just to hang out. I know they will also host special events for up to around 150 people. Also, there is a DJ on the weekends. DO NOT PLAN YOUR WEDDING HERE - If I could give them 0 stars, I would. My husband and I got married in August 2022, i wanted a low-key, budget-friendly, fun wedding, and the Kolo Klub seemed perfect. Working with this venue was genuinely one of the worst experiences of my life. I had no contact with the venue for months (I had a contract and paid a deposit, and they went radio silent) after my original events coordinator left- my event then went through 3 different hands who all gave me different answers to every question- I was given multiple different pricing and food/ drink package info- I eventually got in touch with the owner, who clearly does not know his space because he made multiple promises they were unable to uphold putting his staff in a very bad position- I did not know who would be there the day of my wedding assisting my vendors and me until TWO DAYS BEFORE- I showed up the day before My wedding (as discussed with them one day prior) to drop off decor and my wedding cake and there was no one there, and no one would answer the phone, and we could not get into the space. On the day of my wedding, they did not have anything set up (thank god for my personal day of coordinator), ran out of food for my guests, and were serving well liquor when I paid for the premium liquor package. The staff that worked on the day of my wedding were kind, understanding, and somewhat helpful, but this a very poorly run business, and I felt incredibly taken advantage of throughout this entire process. What a great venue. We attended a 50th birthday party last Saturday night in this really cool restored turn-of-the-century building. The staff was amazing, the waitstaff did a great job with passed hors d'oeuvres, interacting with the guests and doing the little extra things like bringing over some cheese bites after my wife declined some previous items saying she preferred fried stuff. The bartenders were quick and efficient, showing off the cocktail making skills and producing some great drinks. The buffet was well stocked and the staff made sure the chafing dishes were stocked and hot. Street parking was easy to find, actually parked right in front of the door. Heard there is a lot nearby put didn't need it. Great time was had by all. read more

I'd give this a 3.5 if I could. Let me preface the review by saying, I will be back. I went on a Sat night for a birthday party and it was packed. There were only two people working the bar, so it took a little bit to get a drink. Downstairs was definitely worse in terms of crowd and wait time. What struck me as odd is the bouncers stopped letting people go upstairs at a certain time. I mean, I had gone downstairs to try to get a drink because upstairs was packed, but that turned out to be a fools errand. The bar tenders seems to really know what they're doing and I definitely appreciate that. Most people were ordering beers and regular mixed drinks, so its easy to miss. I ordered the "Kolo Klub" drink and it was really good. Just sucks that its such a small quantity, and quite expensive at $14. Most specialty drinks were $12-14. DJ was alright. Had some questionable moments where he slowed the song choice down to a crawl, but otherwise, it was good. Update: I returned a few months later and had a horrible experience... The bouncers had stopped letting people upstairs and ruined a birthday party because many family members of the party went out for a smoke. I spent my 2.5E1 (25th) birthday here, and what a night it was! Upon first impression, the ambiance was amazing! Suddenly you lose track of the fact that you are in a deserted part of Hoboken (or above the Bier Garden even) because you feel like you've walked into a Kafka novel. Three terms come to mind specifically: vintage, artisan, and chic. Though it was difficult to reserve for a party of 20 ahead of time, I came early and was greeted by Jennifer (the events coordinator). She worked to secure a location for my large group and was able to comfortably accommodate us! Though I realize for some the difficult scheduling may be reason to downgrade a place, I feel that they more than made up for that in my mind. Throughout the night, we had staff coming over to take orders, meanwhile the bar staff continued to make incredible cocktails. Looking at either of their menus, food or cocktails, you will want to try everything. Luckily, this hidden gem is always a fun time, so give yourself a reason to come back. I definitely recommend Kolo Klub to anyone who wants to have a great time in a place that sets itself apart from other lounges/bars in Hoboken. Overall, a great place! read more

I hosted my fiance's 30th birthday party here this past weekend and we had a blast!! The staff were great..especially Jennifer (who booked our reservations). After playing phone tag a couple of time we finally talked and I was able to accommodate my event TWO DAYS BEFORE, holla!! Me and my fiance received a drink on the house because it was his birthday... She was definitively a great coordinator. Every once in awhile she would come and check on us, she made sure we were happy. I can't tell you how great the decor was.. Old Prague with a modem flair. We order a platter of sausage and it was good. I'm not sure what the negative review was about the drinks because our drinks were awesome! I was a little hesitant while reading the menu what was in the drinks but they were perfect. Music was upbeat and went with the decor and atmosphere of the place. Found out there's a new space upstairs from the Pilsener Haus beergarden, where we are regulars. Same old-school look but a loungey feel, with leather chairs & couches and some tables scattered about...it's also a large space, broad curving wood ceiling and expansive. Long bar with a hand-painted glass front and cool old-fashioned pictures. You access thru a stairwell, kind of secret-club & cool feeling. I saw a small menu of food but didn't try anything, so I can't comment (the food is really good in the beergarden so I would expect the same here). Now, the drinks: this is a real NYC-style cocktail bar and the drinks they offer are pretty special. There's a short list of the classics (Manhattan, Old Fashioned etc) and then a longer list of their own specialty drinks. Wide array of liquors in them...bourbon, vodka, gin etc. I had one that was called Kolo Klub, with Maker's Mark, and it was very good. Balanced flavor, a good strong drink, and it looked perfect. The bartenders here have skills. This is a serious bar! Tried another whiskey drink with pineapple, don't remember the name but it was delicious. Also tried a sip of my wife's tequila cocktail, foamy & fruity and she was loving it. Would definitely go back. Music could have been better; DJ played some low-key funky/moody stuff I liked but other tracks were clubby. The music should be more distinctive with the feel of the room. BEST TUNES IN ALL OF THE NORTH EAST! The beats on Friday brought me back to when house was good and not dubstep or remixed top 40. Solid deep and sensual house. You could feel it running through your bones. The drinks were by far some of the better ones I have had in years. All of the creative cocktail places in the city have become so generic. Not here. I had a tequila and coconut thing. Delicious. My friend ordered and paid so I dunno how to be more specific on that front. Room to dance! Seats were cumfy and they were pretty available. You do need waiter service though for them. They have a nice atmosphere here just to sit back and pose a little. read more

The place is pretty spacious. The food isnt that expensive considering the amount of beer you get for the price. There are a variety of beer selection from local to commercial. Their pretzel and sausages were really good is a great combo with the beer :) It was kind of hard to find, but just ask the workers on the first floor since the first and second floor are connected despite the different names they have. read more

I came here for my 5 Year Highschool Reunion. Awesome spot for that sort of occasion. The drinks were amazing and the bartenders really hooked it up with some crazy drinks I have never tried before. The event was held upstairs where it was spacious enough to fit about 150 guests that attended. There were also couches and tables around to sit and chat with everyone. I love this venue, it is gorgeous. When you go upstairs to the Kolo Klub and enter it's as if you've entered into a time warp back to the twenty's or thirties. The drinks are incredible. I love the Kolo Klub (the drink). Dont be afraid of drinks with egg whites, you dont even taste the egg because they are mixed so well. Drinks take a bit to get because they have Mixologist and average bartenders just making jack and cokes, but it's worth the wait. I worked with Jen to plan my event. I had a great experience with her. She made sure that we always had food and was really on top of things. I would defiantly plan another event there. Just went to this place for my birthday Saturday night. As soon as you walk in you are shocked at how spacious and lovely it is. It has an old speak easy prohibition type vibe. The mixologists are dressed to the nines with their newsboy hats and white collard shirts. The place is huge and has couches and sofas for your seating. I started the night with the Magic Latern I think it was called and it was Deelish. This isn't your typical bar where you order a vodka soda. You want to enjoy the full experience and order from the menu. This allows you to watch the mixologists do what they do best!! Only reason I knocked off a star was because the drinks are pricey. Cocktails run you $12 a pop which definitely adds up. If you're in the area for a cocktail or 2 I highly recommend this hidden gem in Hoboken. read more

I can't express enough how instrumental the Kolo Klub and the entire crew was in making our wedding day the most amazing celebration! We met, planned and executed a wedding in under 90 days (a Hoboken record?) with the on-going assistance of Vince and Melissa. Melissa did an amazing job of managing all the details, including outside vendors leading up to and all the way through the reception end at 11pm. Vince completely accommodated our culinary asks, including creating an amazing lamb meatball and tzatziki sauce appetizer and ending the night with Port, accompanied by dark chocolates, as a night cap for our guests. The entire event exceeded any expectations we had for our wedding - so much that I want a "do-over" as soon as possible! (Our guests called the next day to echo these sentiments - EVERYONE thought it was a party for the record books). Thank you!! read more

The venue is a good option in the area as there are few spaces of the size that allow for flexibility of set up. Had previous events with the prior owner and the experience was much better. The new owners/management are lacking in customer service and experience. The experience in the contracting process is very one-sided toward them. That does not get better once an agreement is signed. Deadlines for arrangements are required weeks in advance which is uncommon in event planning. In most cases you can provide details approx. 3-5 days prior to the event. They require 2 weeks without ANY flexibility. The food is average, at best, as it seems to be store bought items that are warmed up and plated. The staff at the event were good but may not receive the correct information from management. In our case we contracted and event for 3 hours. The staff were told the event was 2.5 hours. At 2.5 hours, they turned all lights to full, began cleaning up and folding up chairs while all the guests were still present. Appreciating that was the direction they were provided, I hold the management team responsible. Overall, a bad experience all around. Having been in corporate events for over 20 years, I cannot recommend this venue for a positive experience. read more

Far exceeded my expectations. Melissa the Event Planner was so easy to work with and knew exactly how to give me what I wanted. The venue looked gorgeous, the candles and the lighting were totally on point. The food was GREAT- we did a cocktail reception and the food was constantly overflowing. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The owner VInce was on site the entire party to make sure every detail was attended to and perfect. I cannot say enough great things. I would give this more stars if I could! This past week, we held our wedding at Kolo. We both work in the music biz and have big Italian families - so, much like us, we wanted to throw a party in an unconventional space. From day 1, Becky made everything seamless and easy. The venue is perfect! We had about 100 people total and there was so much room to move around and be comfortable, it was beyond perfect. The cost is VERY affordable. We were surprised on how well they are put together and the pricing packages. The venue doesn't need a lot of decor because it's so well put together already. We brought in some greens and flowers, along with cafe lights.. it was perfect. We had Todd at Hoboken Catering put together our 'cocktail party' for the entire reception. He works closely with the venue and made it really simple. Our guests had great reviews about the food as well. Oh, and the bartenders; they super served our guests and had amazing personalities, along with professional pouring skills! We held the ceremony on the patio thanks to Becky's willingness to give us what we wanted. The staff ran security outside to ensure all our guests were seated and comfortable before the ceremony began. Our party was then held in Kolo and, Becky was on point for every single detail imaginable. We went back the following day to gather our decor and lights; the staff had done everything for us. All we had to do was pick up the box. Between Beck, the bartenders and the staff made our day pretty damn amazing. This is definitely a well organized, brilliant gem. And, it's cost effective on a tight budget! Can't say anything beyond super positive about everything at Kolo. read more

We had our October 2017 wedding here so it's hard to think about Kolo without getting all the good feels! Becky helped us plan the day and night of our dreams at the rustic upstairs bar. It was the perfect spot for our 120 guests. Everything from the drinks to the food (which we brought in from Skyline Catering) and DJ Joseph from Aria Melody (recommended by Becky!) was perfect. The energy of the bartenders was one of my favorite parts of the night, everyone there made sure to keep our guests happy (and it was so clear how happy they were to be working there!) highly recommend for anyone planning events or looking for a different experience on a night out! read more

This weekend marks my one-year wedding anniversary, and the casual ceremony/reception was at Kolo Klub. To sum up: the space was lovely and the event management was poor. The big one: my phone was stolen during my wedding. The phone was in a side room provided for our use that was also shared by the event/catering staff. Even though it was obviously stolen (immediately shut down making the tracking device useless), the event manager questioned no one but me, the bride, and started riffling through the bag I packed for my wedding night without my permission. She suggested we check with our close family to see if they took it, and then gathered staff and told us - in front of them - she would make them "turn out their pockets" if that is what we wanted. It was very uncomfortable and humiliating being put in that position. I lost all the pics from the morning of and rehearsal dinner, and I lost the last half hour of my wedding trying to take care of the phone business myself. The event manager did not check in with us in the next few days. It took a while for me to track down a person, and they decided not to cash a $250 check for incidentals. The cost of replacing the phone was $750. I submitted copies of my police report, phone contract, etc. to K.K. as they requested so they could submit them to their insurance company. They said they would get back to me and I have not heard from them since. I kept holding off this review hoping they would contact me but they never did. Aside from the stolen phone, the event manager made such a big deal about holding the wedding cake we brought (even though we asked weeks beforehand), that I had to empty my fridge the night before and take care of it myself. We also had to ask for a copy of the contract no less than FIVE times spread out over weeks, and ask for all the details of the cocktail package because they weren't ever presented to us. In short, I am thrilled to celebrate my first anniversary, but won't do it with a cocktail at Kolo Klub. read more

time travel, mixed drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere - "what are three things Mike B likes?"...and, well, Kolo Klub delivers! knowing how awesome Pilsener Haus (the beer hall/garden downstairs) is, I was not surprised at how good of a job the owners did with their upstairs event space / cocktail lounge. came here last night for a birthday party and was very impressed! this building being an old factory, there is A LOT of space. a big main area, and then more secluded corners with couches, tables, chairs, and even movable partitions so it has a more intimate feel. dim lighting and candles on the tables too. the furniture, lighting, and artwork all keep with the early 1900s feel of Pilsener Haus. hell, there are even parts of random industrial/factory machines mounted on the walls. good thing I refueled the TARDIS before time-traveling here! dieselpunk all the way! the drinks are costly but solid. they have that whole "mixology" thing going on here, but it's not douchey or pretentious like places in New York. the Bohemian (Beefeater, Saint Germain, and some other stuff) was light and refreshing, but the Dark and Stormy was my choice drink - probably one of the best D&S I've ever had. there are wine options as well, and a few beer taps. HOWEVER - you can always head downstairs and order beer from the Pilsener Haus' amazing draft beer selection and bring it upstairs. service is fantastic and they accommodated our party perfectly. the DJ was great and played a good, laid-back mix. no fist-pumping here, it was more of a chill/ambient vibe. not too loud that you had to yell to have a conversation either, but good enough to get people dancing. the 126 bus from Port Authority stops just two blocks away so getting here from the city is nice and easy (though the last one comes at 1:30, just an FYI). you could also take a cheap cab ride to/from the PATH/NJT hub if necessary. Do not book an event here! They have no idea how to run an event! The space is great but they are understaffed, overpriced and inexperienced. Don't be fooled. They had 2 inexperienced bartenders for an event with 150 people. It took over 30 minutes to get a drink. They served well drinks and offered 3 "signature" drinks that the bartenders didn't know how to make. All this for $100 per person. Look elsewhere! read more

I will say this, 5 stars for the bartenders. 1 star for the DJ/Prom night this place is on a weekend night, ergo 3 stars. They are obviously going for a speakeasy feel as there is no signage really to speak of and we had to ask the bouncer at the front of the biergarten how to get in. Which is kinda cool. We went for a friends birthday on a Saturday night. We got there before everyone else because as we were up that way for dinner, so we bellied up to the bar. There are no TVs here, which I like. Believe it or not you have to talk to people....OH THE HORROR! The bartenders here are the highlight. The are quite literally masters at their craft. The cocktails are $12 a piece, may seem pricey but you are getting works of art not vodka tonics. There were 2 bartenders there that were just damn fun to watch. I didn't want to leave the bar because I was memorized at the effort, care and finesse they put into EVERY drink they made, even when swamped. All the drinks I sampled were amazing, especially the ones that involved fire. I asked one bartender to surprise me with a strong drink, he did, it was excellent. I asked what it was called, he said he made it up and hasn't named it yet...damnit how can I order it again??? One of the best cocktails I've ever had. So if you enjoy spirits and craft cocktails you will be pleased. If you wants shots of Jager and vodka red bull, this won't be for you. They also had a limited beer selection, but you could go downstairs and get a beer too. I down grade because they are obviously trying for a cool, swanky speakeasy feel and they have failed at the vibe (except with the bartenders). I have been to the speakeasys in the city, they are chill relaxed and classy places. Alas, we live in Hoboken where bros and woo girls invade our weekend nights. The DJ there was HORRIBLE, he kept screaming "where my alcoholics at" and "where my single ladies at" he sounded like a prom DJ and he kept going despite no one responding. There were a fair amount of bros there who my wife almost smacked because he kept bumping into us, we had to tell him to leave our are of the bar. I'm not anti "getting wasted", anything but, but there are places for that and this really didn't seem like one of them. Because the bartenders didn't appreciate it, they even ignored these idiots and kept serving the wide variety of normal people there. This DJ just ruined the night so we left. I really felt as if a jazz band, or something a little bit better than Katie Perry and Kanye remixes all night. I mean this guy took Wedding/Prom DJing mixed it with top 40, then threw up on it. The dj on 4/15/17 was horrible at kolo club! I requested a song and he yelled at me. What type of dj does that ?! He was so rude and disrespectful towards me it made me never want to come back . What an awful experience. read more

If you are a hipster, you will love this place. If you are not, read on: Recently my friends booked this event space for a large Holiday party (100+ people). We paid $25 per ticket and some of the proceeds went to charity. Hors d'oeuvres were promised, but the spread was extremely minimal. It seems like every drink on the special cocktail menu had egg in it, and a major complaint from the attendees was that it took a very lengthy amount time to get said drinks. The bartenders were literally cracking eggs and separating them for each drink. This made the lines at the bar back up to 10-20 minute waits for drinks. Even though we spend a lot of money to rent the space, apparently this only allotted us two hours of use as non-attendees of the party were allowed up after 9pm. (our party started at 7). So basically if you showed up after 9 you didn't have to pay for a ticket (even though we were all told to buy tickets ahead of time). Lastly, and most importantly, they will NOT play top 40 music. If you hate top 40 music, great. If your entire goal for the night was to enjoy some dancing with friends, forget it. The DJ would NOT take requests as he was told not to take them by the owner of the establishment. At 12am, after everyone from our party had left, a friend had finally talked to the owner about lifting this rule, but by this time it was too late and we had all given up. My thoughts: if you're paying to rent a space for a party, you should at least be able to choose the music that you want to listen to. Extremely disappointing experience. I gotta be honest, I wasn't here on a regular night. I came here for a wedding. It was awesome. The servers were all very friendly, and the food was great. The venue itself has a very cool barn/industrial vibe going on. The night, however, was really made by the bartenders. The two gentlemen working the wedding, John and Joe, were straight up superheros. They were mixing drinks like master craftsmen. Both John and Joe were serving up the best old fashioneds, and the best manhattans, that I've ever had. They were also serving up an awesome drink called The Kolo?, maybe, I forget, but it was awesome too. There was also many delicious German pilsners on draught which makes sense, being that this venue is atop the Pilsner Haus. I would definitely go back here to party if I knew those dudes were bartending. read more

Looks like this place caught on, and not in a good way. Went back on a Saturday night and couldn't get close to the bar to place an order. We also tried sitting at a table and flagging down the waitress but she looked completely overwhelmed. The Muzak was really loud and again, not real music that you could really dance or sing along to. We left and went to Carpe Diem down the street where we got served easily and could hear each other talk. Might give it another try but won't be rushing back. read more

For a different than usual Hoboken bar this place actually has a nice cocktail menu. (which is good to have near home if not wanting to trek it to NYC.) Prices maybe a little too high for Hoboken but beggars can't be choosers. Antique-factory-lofty looking space above the Biergarten for us non beer lovers. Place does get jammed packed as it is only open from Thursdays-Saturdays. Ideally not the best spot for a quiet date (Saturday nights) as most good cocktail bars can be. If not you'll find yourself shouting over your date. Nevertheless, If you are looking for mixologists in Hoboken this would be one of the few places you can find them in. read more
