What a beautiful venue for planning an event!! I was here on Saturday for my friends bridal shower. The venue was gorgeous and the space was perfect for her shower. Tons of space and can be decorated however you like. From what I understand, the space is very budget friendly and you can select your own caterer. There's an on-site staff member to assist with serving and cleanup. Max capacity: 90 ppl First floor: Two restrooms for guest. A bar area with a fridge. Area for a setting up a photo booth & cocktail tables (or whatever you like). My friends bridal shower had a dessert table, full bar, photo booth, and cocktail tables. Upstairs: Big space to set up tables, chairs, couches etc. Plenty of room for a dancing area and food. My friends bridal shower had rented couches and glow in the dark cocktail tables. Let me begin by saying that Franca makes all the difference at this venue!! She is so hands on and takes a personal interest in her clients and making sure all of their needs are met. I wanted to set up more of a lounge theme and Franca went above and beyond to find a furniture company that was within our budget. The pictures don't do it justice! The venue itself is gorgeous and located in a perfect area! There is parking available right next to the building which is very convenient. The two rooms are spacious and my guests kept commenting on how nice of a place it was. I can't thank Franca enough! This venue is definitely worth checking out and I plan to do events in this space in the future as well! read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our event at Venue 845! Franca was an absolute joy to work with and she and Tina made my Husband's surprise 35th bday party go smoothly. I just had my baby shower here and it was just perfect! I worked with Franca and she was beyond helpful. She helped from beginning to end, corresponding and working with me with planning, decorating and pretty much every single detail. It was obvious she cared and did everything with love and genuine care (like it was her own party!!). Decorations were beautiful and every time a guest walked it, they would say nice everything looked. There are 4 tv's, and I did a slide show which was a nice touch for the baby shower. The day of the event Franca and her crew made everything easy for me. They served drinks, helped with my guestbook, took care of food and were very professional. I just had an event at venue 845 Newark jersey city NJ 07306, the place is very nice but the person I was dealing with didn't explained everything in detail I had to put down 500.00 deposit 1,750 two days before the event a linked was sent to me for insurance, I was charged 100.00 to for me to decorated 150.00 to clean up 150.00 for chair rental 25.00 for delivery and 85.00 gratuity. And the people that worked there are they allowed to eat and drink your things that you prepared? read more

I recently had a baby shower for my wife. From the beginning it was all about money money money. The manager was nice but she insisted on adding services for additional fee. When it came to returning the deposit. The owner and the manager were unprofessional . Did not want to provide me with phone numbers after numerous attempts via email. The manager was always dodging my request for her number due to I lost my cell phone days prior. No communications between parties . Giving false information about the events the occurred with lies. And was not able to receive my deposit entirely back. Even though the venue is nice I won't use this venue again due to unprofessionalism of management. read more

FRANCA! Simply stated, she is the one to work with when planning your event at Venue 845. The level of service and professionalism are remarkable. As an events professional, I was impressed at the attention to detail and cleanliness; this venue is such a welcome addition to Jersey City - just a quick walk from the PATH station. My fiance hosted a 50-person surprise birthday party in May 2017. The existing decor and multi-level access enabled guests to have cocktails in the front, dinner in the main room and gaming at the top level. Scam scam scam!!! If I could give a zero I would, recently went to a baby shower, and was not happy my brother spent a lot of money for a controlled environment. Workers were complaining and unprofessional. They were complaining about plates holding them hostages. Texting and calling throughout the whole ordeal. Now my brother not getting his deposit back because they saying there were more than 60 in party. Place is all about money. Save your money and go elsewhere!!! read more

I hosted my baby shower at Venue 845 and it was amazing! We had so many compliments on the venue & the staff. The venue is perfect with the three rooms they offer; one to set up all the food, another for dining & the upstairs with entertainment for kids with the Playstation and Xbox. The best part about having my event here was Franca. She is unbelievable!! She went above and beyond to help us with everything; from the food, to decor, the layout and much more! Every step of the way she was there to help and she immediately makes you feel like family. The staff she has to help serve drinks & food were also incredible and a huge help! My experience working with Franca at Venue845 was amazing. I planned a 30th gatsby themed party and made and brought most of the decor myself. I was able to decorate however I wanted and Franca helped pick up whatever supplies I needed. During the party she and the servers were kind and respectful to my guests and everything went ridiculously smoothly. Franca is there for you the whole time and made me feel very at ease through the whole process. We had our son's 5th birthday party here back in November and couldn't be happier with the experience! We are still getting compliments on his party from other parents and family friends. The secret to the party's success was Venue 845's coordinator, *Franca Piperato*!! Our son's party was the first formal event we ever hosted and, needless to say, we were nervous about it. Franca was wonderful from the start of our process thinking through themes to the very end at clean up. She helped us with every single detail from ordering party decorations to hanging up streamers, from coordinating the entertainment to giving cost effective suggestions on food, from setting up a dessert table to putting together party favors. She helped us think through *every* detail and we knew she had our best interest at heart. That was what set her apart from any other coordinator - she had our best interest at heart! In addition, the venue was stunning. It has a very modern, sleek look with clean lines and neutral colors which was great for nearly any themed party. The venue was clean and spacious but the set up encouraged conversation between guests. There is even parking for your guest next to the building (unheard of in JC). I had a 4-hr family event here a few weeks ago and everything leading up to it was a mess. The event was a cultural ceremony & family-catered luncheon, so things had to be done a particular way according to tradition. It was also part of my wedding weekend, so I had a million other things to worry about. Working with Franca was extremely frustrating. She was unprofessional, absent-minded, and a complete amateur in event planning. We met in-person twice and emailed several times, but each time she unclear about the details. She was late the second time we met, and insisted that she had told me a later time. I knew exactly what I wanted from the beginning, but she kept asking for clarification over our months of planning. She'd ask how many tables, what time guests would arrive, etc etc... She asked for such clarification even though we had things in writing. Additionally, she did not provide the additional table for the ceremony as we had requested, so my fiance ended up bringing a folding table that we had in our basement to ensure that we'd have one for the event. There are also a lot of charges that are not discussed upfront. And since she does not get paid by the venue to help with the event (you have to tip her), she kept pushing extra add-ons (seat covers, to see if we'd want to use her caterer, additional time for her to help with set up) even after I insisted that my family would be providing everything. She also charges per-hour for set up, which was not mentioned to me until a few weeks before the wedding. I also kept insisting that my family would be setting up for the ceremony, but she kept "offering" to provide her services. During the actual ceremony, she inappropriately pulled me aside to discuss payment. DURING THE CEREMONY. Not before or after, but during the ceremony. It had to have been one of the most stressful parts of planning my entire wedding weekend. I would not recommend this place if you are having an important event, and I will not be using them again. read more

I just threw a party here about 2 weeks ago and I couldn't have chosen a better space! The space is large and open and super trendy. Nice place to host birthday parties, corporate events, baby showers etc. While the space is beautiful, what put this place over the top for me was Franca. She manages the space and she is AMAZING! This woman helped me with everything! From meeting with me to discuss details, to helping decorate, setting up and serving the food, she really handled my party so well and it gave me and my family the freedom to actually enjoy ourselves! Shes perfect! Make sure you're good to her! Everything was so perfect but Im giving a 4 because it needs some serious updating - AC needs to be enhanced and the entrance needs to be fixed, the door sticks when you walk in. The owner needs to take better care of the small stuff. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER ! I must say this venue could care one bit about your event . All they care about is money money & more money . The manager at this place is the worst ! For one thing she promises everything to you, if you use her as an event planner. If you do not she can care less about you & your event & wants to charge you even for breathing. This past weekend i attended my best friends baby shower & she wanted to control every single thing . When it came to decorating she didn't even give us a hand to decorate like she promised . All she did was watch & walk around . She even was showing the venue to other clients as we were decorating, which i thought it was rude due to the fact that my bestfriend pay for the time. but if she was the event planner she would have been all hands on and not doing what she was doing . She also let us borrow some plates for decoration for the center piece & to put under the serving plates . However, she thought it was okay while the guests was eating to go around each table & collect them interrupting them from eating . That to me was the worst . People were just looking at her like what is wrong with you . Also, my best friend bought extra plates just in case people wanted to take extra food home or for any other reason, but the manager decided to keep the plates hostage. When asked for the plates she refused to give them . The moral of this review is to save your money & time & go some where else where they can provide you with great services & not try to steal your money & keep your deposite for what ever reason. read more

If you dont go threw the staff they provide to decorate or to do your other services you will get treated differently a lady by the name of franca,will be a nightmare to you and will be someone you want to forget by the time your party is over, please i repeat read the contract and make sure you are willing to get Ponzi schemed for every little dollar you have i felt like i was in francas party and she will try to control everything your trying to do in your event.Mind you her famous line as she speaks to you and threw out the hole time your waiting for your event and she will say im only making 100 dollars please dont let her fool you stand your ground and be on point with every single detail because you will get charged for anything and everything and they will tell you its on the contract so good luck trying to get your deposit back the owners monitors the camera and watches your every move and supposedly counts how many people are there and if you are over they keep your deposit mind you they till u the deposit is for the game consoles and you have to get event insurance also but you have to do all of this and you cant even go up to eat when u want franca aslo controls that and you will have a problem getting your deposit back if you even get it back i didnt get a penny back they emailed me saying as a good jesture they will give me a 125 credit and i owe them 500 so they just keeping my deposit because of to many people from the cameras lol so good luck.mind you they tell me to get the insurance and add a extra 10 people just in case more people come its unbelievable they can just get away with this im goin to better business bureau. read more
