Having heard wonderful things about the service and with a recommendation from a friend I had high expectations. Joe arrived right on time, which I appreciated, and he was friendly and took care to review everything with me, especially since the charges were quite high. For this appointment, I had a couch, loveseat (both with loose back cushions), two chairs, an ottoman, and an area rug cleaned. Joe spent about an hour and a half on the actual cleaning process, though he was here for a total of two hours. At the end of the visit, he explained that some stains, particularly those caused by my elder mom, wouldn't budge, and that the couches were heavily soiled, but he did his best. Yes, I have two dogs, the couches are dirty hence the cleaning service. In addition too coffee stains on the one chair, that the advertise to be able to take care of. After everything dried, I was unfortunately disappointed with the results, especially given the cost, $700 plus. Just to see if there was any improvement possible, I used my own little green machine with carpet cleaner. In less than 15 minutes, it collected a bucket full of filthy water, indicating that there was still a lot of dirt left behind. I understand that not all stains can be removed, but I do believe that dirt should come out during cleaning. I also attempted to clean the stained chairs myself and was able to make some progress. Because of this, I requested my area rug back, as I am unsure about their cleaning process and feel it did not meet my expectations of clean. See pictures showing the dirty water from my green machine along with a comparison of the cushions after both cleanings. I wanted to bring this to your attention and hope you won't make the same mistake and waste your money and time.

At checkout,…read moreI inadvertently handed over a coupon for a competing paint supplier (not realizing Aurora Paint Pot sells Benjamin Moore, not Sherwin-Williams). After pointing out the mistake the staff still offered me a discount anyway which was very nice. I returned to Aurora Paint Pot to see if they could match a color on our walls. The previous homeowners left us a large can of paint marked "living room" but after touching up the walls it was most definitely not the same color. The staff explained that if I have a fireplace it's likely the paint color changed over time due to the smoke, or it's possible that it just needed to be shaken up again. He told me to bring the can of paint in and then he shook it in their machine (even though the paint wasn't even purchased there). I thought the staff was kind and went out of their way to help me both times I was in.

As soon as my pup and I exited the vehicle, we were screamed at by whom I assume is the owner of the establishment. Upon facing this burly, overwhelming woman with a tattoo similar to Mike Tyson, and explaining how long we had been in the car. She continued to shout it was private property, so I crossed the street to avoid confrontation. She informed me through continuous screaming that it was also private property. It's a Reservation, we get it. She doesn't own the entire Tonowanda Reserve. She then proceeded to threaten to SHOOT me and my dog. Calling me all sorts of names, cursing. She brandished no weapon so I did not take the threat seriously. After my pup finished urinating I loaded him back up and we drove to another establishment. I told the clerks about my encounter at Higher Ground. They informed me that she endows added revenue upon them from all the customers she either disrespects, or scares off. It works out well for them, we all laughed it off. Honestly, I was in shock over it. Now, hours later as the day has wound down, I continue to be appalled by her behavior; all over a well trained, and leashed dog. Please, I recommend that if you are ever in the area, just keep driving. It's not worth the drama, unless you like Jerry Springer.
