We took the public tour on "Slowboy", a 64 VW Split window bus. Neither built for comfort or speed but rather style and that it has plenty of. Being public you sgare tge bus with others that also signed up online up to 8 people. Chris our driver was a local with lots of knowledge about the stops and luckily could drive the manual transmission... There is also a larger school bus available for rent that can be booked privately with a minimum of 8 folks. This tour costs more but I believe they actually pick you up at your house which would be nice. The public tour starts and ends at the Dream Inn so you have to drive home from there... (pro tip: show up early and start with bloody Mary's at the Jack O'Neill lounge) One gripe is the tour promised to meet the brewers at each stop but that never happened. There was the opportunity to take a brewhouse tour at discretion but it was offered to us just as we got our food and beer and sat down to enjoy them. The timing sucked as I would have really enjoyed that. Local or not, this is a good time for sure and I will do it again soon. Book your tour today online!

They were super responsive when we wanted to book our tour with just a few days notice - so mad props for their fast, friendly service in getting us booked so quickly!! Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable about Carmel, and provided an overview about the area and was very willing to answer any questions we had. We enjoyed chatting with her throughout the 4 hour experience. We enjoyed tastes from 5-6 different locations throughout the downtown Carmel area. We were definitely provided a lot of variety and everything was delicious - from doughnuts and coffee and nuts to French onion soup and sushi. We had the opportunity at one of the locations (Toro) to have an interactive experience, spending time speaking with the general manager learning the background about the restaurant. We also had a special sake tasting featuring three different sakes. It was a very unique experience and the sushi was also extremely fresh and delicious. Overall, it was a good experience and we were able to enjoy a nice variety of food that local restaurants provide. Important tips for future tour goers: 1. Don't eat before going on a food tour. We thankfully didn't eat -otherwise, we would not have been able to enjoy the food tour to its fullest. 2. Don't book any reservations to restaurants that same day. We were still stuffed by the time it was time to go to dinner - and that was more than 5 hours later!

Gary was very helpful and nice to schedule our wine tour. We drove up to Monterey and met Gary at Dust Bowl Brewery in Monterey. Gary is a vibrant tour guide. The drive up to Carmel Valley is breathtaking. Our first stop on the wine tour was bernardus winery. The second stop was corral winery and last was the barrel room. All three wineries were spectacular, great tasting wines and spectacular service. In between winery 2 and 3 we had lunch at plaza Linda Mexican restaurant. The wine tour was 5 hours of great wine, conversation and the atmosphere/vibe were great. Carmel valley is a place I will go back to try some more wineries. The tour is wonderful. If you have a chance to visit Monterey please put this on your list of places to visit.

You tell them where you reside and they will find a close pick up spot. Kathi and JR called a few days before as a courtesy reminder and answered any of our questions. Great energy from start to the end. The Grape Escape Winery Tour that we signed up for included three wineries: the Ridge, Vidovich and Picchetti Brothers. It wasn't the best weather, but when it wasn't raining, you can see all of the Bay Area. And as we were traveling in between, JR was just educating us on everything. Grape experience. Of our 3 locations - one an add on because we were running far ahead of schedule - we had to pay for the tasting at one winery, we were hassled at another because the tasting fee had not been paid and the third was fine but not enough to make up for the rest. One of the wineries had a major construction project underway, so we were serenaded by jackhammers during our tasting - to be fair, that's a fail by both Bohemian Highway and Mumm. None of the places we visited had ever heard of Bohemian Highway. Uber and Uber Eats wouldn't have been much more inconvenient and a much better value. We gave them specific, honest feedback in person and via their feedback form, but they chose not to respond. Look elsewhere when searching for California wine tour providers.

I have gone to several of the yoga events held by downward drinking dog and I have enjoyed each of them immensely. Pat and Lori, the two "cofounders" of the group are awesome, and perhaps that is why these events draw such a cool crowd as well. Also, there's beer and yoga, so if you like both of those, you're pretty good in my book. So far I've been to events at Strike Brewery and Hapas Brewery (a new brewery in San Jose - such a cool venue), but they are branching out to other locations and even a distillery in Santa Cruz in a few weeks! Totally a fun event for a weekend afternoon. The yoga is great for all levels, and it's a great way to try out some locations you might not otherwise know about. Totally try it!

He arrived a little early to our hotel, always a good sign. As we headed to Carmel, Sammy gave us a quick history of Monterey and Carmel that was filled with little tidbits that we didn't know despite coming to the area for decades. Our tour consisted of three restaurants for small plates paired with wine and three tasting rooms for short flights. Everything was amazing. The tour never felt rushed, even though I was trying before the tour to figure out how Sammy was going to fit everything in. This was the first time we'd done a tour like this and it definitely won't be the last. We look forward to touring with Sammy again.
