He called and Sue helped get it from the surgeons office so we did not have to go all the way home. We were greeted and assisted as soon as we walked in the door. STAY FAR AWAY: I went for custom orthotic inserts for my shoes - I never received a full working pair and they refused to correct the list of mistakes they continued to make with them - starting with the fact that one insert was so thick it wouldn't fit in my shoe with my foot... and the other was completely flat. I was there too many times trying to have them make adjustments where they just argued and gaslit me. The also suggested that I needed cushioned stability shoes and one year later I could barely walk. -100000/10 would NEVER recommend. Go literally anywhere else, including to the river to talk to the fish because they will help you more than this place will. read more

Over several phone calls this place promised me that my inserts were 100% covered by my insurance. I even at one point called back to verify and asked if there was any doubt they weren't fully covered because the inserts are very expensive for me and I wasn't sure about going forward if they weren't covered. I was told not to worry, she had it all right there, and they were 100%covered. Then after I get the inserts they send me a bill for over $400. When I call to find out why the lady told me they weren't covered by my insurance. She took only a little over $50 off the bill. I feel like they lied to me to get me to go through with getting the inserts then bill me and pressure me with calls and collection agency warnings to get me to pay. read more

Heard nothing, had to call them, ask about order, they know nothing. 3 and half weeks later, they admitted they hadn't made, and wouldn't make, because my insurance doesn't cover the costs. Told them, yes it does, was dared to call insurance.. She said since you REALLY NEED THEM, I'll give you a discount for $500. My insurance called her, to tell her, they were absolutely covered, she then told the insurance company, they no longer accept my insurance. The front end of K&K = D Back-end (the fabricators) = A Clearly, this is a top down problem, meaning that the office manager, who I had no interaction with, must likely be rude and lazy. Why? Bc behaviors are largely learned and if condoned, perpetuated. My interaction was with Kathleen who ghosted my account for 2 days, meaning she didn't follow up with my insurance and return my call so I could know that I needed to call a 3rd party for actual pricing. Once I tracked Kathy down (I had to phone her 2x), I immediately phoned the 3rd party bc I had intense foot pain. Viola!... (The Front End ladies LACK EMPATHY bc if they had some, they wouldn't be so lazy, nor would they shovel standard 'sales talk' at you when you remind them that they hadn't told you ANYTHING about a year end push to receive a product if your deductible for 2020 had already been met)... No, instead they say "Okay, I understand." Net, net my brace needed to be received before the end of the year, in order for my (previously accrued) deductible to have been met... Here today on a podiatry referral for an orthotic foot support to offload pressure from a toe injury. This is a large provider of durable medical equipment and custom fitted orthotics. For this visit I needed custom shoe inserts. The orthotist used a box of foam into which I stepped to create a mold. Two weeks later I get custom inserts. Fortunately most shoes today have removable insoles, so the orthotic interchanges easily with existing shoe inserts. The staff are friendly, insurance knowledgeable, and competent care givers. read more

I am truly upset as I continue to experience pain to my knee. I'm not sure how a business like this is able to stay open. Communication is horrible. They don't follow-up when they state they will do so. On three separate occasions I have been told they would get back to me and did not do so. I had to call and follow-up on two occasions. The last occasion took place on May 8th when I called about the co-pay message left on my voice mail, which indicated it would be $462.32 for a knee brace that they want to charge $2,311 for. I asked the cost on my initial visit on March 16th and could not get a clear answer, just around about figure which was not $2,300 or close to it. If you tell me this is the brace you mostly use for customers with knee pain then I would think there should be an exact cost to quote. They do not have knee braces available onsite. I had to request to see the brace which took an extended period for the personnel to get the brace on loan for me to view if I wanted that particular brace. During the conversation on May 8th, I expressed not being able to pay that amount. I was told that they would talk to the manager about maybe being able to lower the cost and would get to me later that morning. Today, is May 15th and I still have not heard from anyone at the 230 Washington Square site. I refused to call the company this time around. After dealing with them nearly two months, experiencing a lot of pain walking I now have to find another company. I agree with other reviews, this company is overpriced and not to mention the most dysfunctional company I have ever encounter. I am beyond pleased with my experience at Komfort & Kare. I needed post-mastectomy items, I was helped by a kind,knowledgeable woman named Kathy. She assisted with finding the right size as well as the right style products that worked for me. I was appreciative of the private setting they had for customers to try on items. The store itself was very clean and tidy and had a welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Komfort & Kare to any family and friends in need of post-mastectomy items! read more

This is the second time I had to get a brace for my husbands foot. I spoke with Michael Miller, he was very knowledgeable and made this process very easy. He explained every step and took our worry's right away. The last time my husband received a brace to process was a night mare. Outrageous pricing with lots of paperwork. Komfort and Kare have a small store inside Temple Universities Foot and Ankle building in Philadelphia. The podiatrist I saw recommended I wear an Ankle Brace and provided a script for the brace. He suggested I could be fitted with no appointment or waiting at the Komfort and Kare kiosk in their lobby. I was fitted by their specialist who was very familiar with the brace. My main concern was that the brace was over $400, however my insurance paid half and I paid half. That evening I went online to the manufacture's web site to see if they had instructional videos for using the brace. I was shocked to see the manufacture sells the brace on line without a script for $39.95. How can Komfort and Kare charge $400 for a $40 item and sleep at night? read more

Yesterday I called for information on compression stockings. I spoke to Bernadette and was taken aback by her rudeness. I asked a couple of times how much compression stockings would cost and was told they start at $62 but she couldn't give me an exact price without the prescription. I gave her my insurance information so she could call and find out if they were covered. Today she left a pleasant voicemail and when I returned her call I immediately heard her rudeness from yesterday. Bernadette knew the exact price today $114 even though she never saw my prescription. She mentioned I had "a small copay" which was $39. I wouldn't consider 35% $39 a small copay for a $114 item. Even if my copay was $1 I wouldn't go to Bernadette. I've rented a wheelchair twice from Komfort & Kare and didn't have any issues. Bernadette needs to work on her customer service instead of speaking as though I called her at home during dinner! read more

I visited the Main location in Magnolia NJ. I asked for certain medical supplies for a post-op patient. The staff members at Komfort & Kare were nasty and abrasive. They all sit silently behind a 40-foot-long counter like sham judges in a dictatorship. When I first entered the store I asked if I could pull up a chair to talk to a Rep, and I was greeted with, "Tell me what you want before you sit down". I complied with their request, told them what I was looking for, I was then told sternly, "We don't carry those supplies." I quietly said thank you and left. The Reps did not volunteer information on where I could get the supplies that I needed. It turns out they do carry some of the medical supplies that I need. If they had been willing to have a dialogue with me, this company would have made a sale. I don't understand why a company would take delight in treating a customer with contempt. read more

Paula was so very helpful and showed us different models of scooters, Its great that you can test them before buying them we did order from qvc and it did not work right for my mom. This is the first negative review I have ever written. I generally try to overlook unpleasant things but this time I had to speak up about it. I see by looking at both yelp and Google reviews I am far from alone. I was completely shocked at the lack of professionalism and rudeness of the practitioner and even some of the staff. The office manager's obnoxious behavior was so extreme, she was like a character out of a movie. I would suggest to ask for the name of another orthopedic co. connected to the doctor who gives the recommendations and script. Otherwise, it could be a very bad experience. I cannot emphasize that enough. Without hesitation, I can honestly say it was the worst customer experience of my life. read more

Went in to see about compression socks, with my script and measurements from my Dr. They told me that my Dr.'s measurements didn't matter, I still had to get measured by them. They wanted to charge me 80 some dollars, and my Dr. 60. They are extremely shady when answering questions. Everything they wanted me to do, my Dr. already did. And they would not use my Dr.'s info. They were better when located in Westmont plaza. I guess someone has to pay for their new building. read more

I'm not sure why the unhappy reviews? We went in for orthotics and it was seamless. Ernie was fabulous. Kind, fast and totally professional. He explained the process to my son fully as well. Compassionate doesn't even begin to describe this organization. I have a lower left leg prosthetic and live in Suffolk VA. On 4/23/2019 I had driven up to NJ for a family funeral, when I awoke the next morning, the day the funeral was scheduled for 10 AM, I discovered that my foot was extremely loose. Without any prior contact with Komfort Kare I was waiting at their door when they opened at 8 AM. They immediately took me in and fixed my foot for me, expertly, professionally, and I was out in 15 minutes. Not only did they tell me there was no charge but the technician refused, and I do mean REFUSED, to let me tip him for taking care of me. I'm from VA, never spoken with or even had seen any of these folks before in my life, and they took care of me like family. WELL DONE KOMFORT KARE! I wish you had an office near where I live. was measured, fitted and received a [r] ankle metal brace from them. i had an opened wound that[after 4 wound healing visits] just had healed. i was fitted [by Mike] for the brace and after only [2] days this brace ripped open my healed wound causing ANOTHER [4] weeks @ wound healing and [5] skin grafts. then, to add insult to injury, they " reworked" the brace. it was worse than the first and all the doctors said" throw it away" . i have since been fitted with a correct brace from another company and have had no issues! i agree w/ Anthony W. they are pricey and their q/c is non-existent. if there were a minus star rating-they deserve it.i would NEVER EVER recommend their products or services and tell everyone that's considering them to find someone else-they'll be happy they did! read more
