So, running it 24x7 would only cool the condo down to 84 degrees, in the afternoon. It also ran at about 70-80 decibels, so good luck watching TV or holding a conversation in the living room. We complained about this, they said there was nothing they could do, that the description was accurate. After we threatened to just leave and book somewhere else, they sent a handyman to assess. When he got there, he thought he was replacing the AC unit. The one he brought was rated for 350 square feet. So, rather than replacing the fully functioning inadequate AC unit with a less adequate one, he put that one in the bedroom. It was just as loud as the other one. So, with both "portable" AC units and 2 box fans running (yes, ear plugs were required to sleep), it would still only cool the place down to 82 degrees in the afternoon, until late evening. The attitude of their customer service was just horrible.

There were twelve of us ~ eight adults and four "tweens". The very large kitchen is well-equipped with every conceivable appliance, pot and pan, dish and glass that could be needed. The two outdoor barbecues make cooking outdoors convenient. The lanai tables and chairs, which rest on a deck above the pool, make for superb ocean vistas when eating meals outdoors. The swimming pool and hot tub are very well cared for. Eating indoors in the dining room, there are seats for 13, when including stools on the dining room side of the open kitchen. The living room area and entryway are most spacious. The setting is positively beautiful and unique for a home in a residential neighborhood, in that it is entirely private, with absolutely nothing obstructing the 180-degree magnificent views of the ocean. It is beautifully landscaped. We used Ohana, also, so that each of our families-within-the-larger-family could have their own bedroom. Bill is a most cooperative owner who made accommodations to our special requests. The only small liability of the property is the lack of an attached bathroom to the second-largest bedroom. The occupants of that bedroom need to step across the hall to a lovely powder room with toilet and basin, or step around the corner into the laundry room to use that basin and shower. Then there's always the extra bathroom within the master suite (which contains two very large bathrooms), that can be put to use for those second-bedroom guests, too. So, it's doable, just a bit inconvenient. This property is extremely well-maintained, and expertly-equipped. Prospective guests need have not a single worry about renting it!

I did like meeting the geckos that look like the GEICO gecko during breakfast who were wanting fruit. Cons: there's no AC. Also I was woken up by I think a rooster at 5 am. They do try to space out people getting breakfast so you can't rush in at 730 am for food.

Roads are severely dark that you cannot differentiate between driving/reversing onto road or out to sea *yikes*. Once you finally arrive at your destination, keep on driving up the hill until you reach the end. Don't forget, it is crazy dark outside, don't be alarmed by the sounds of nature. You'll park to the side next to the other 4 cars by the garage (not into it) and quietly find directions on a pin with your name on it. Come quietly inside as you make your way to the room. If you survive the night (which, you will), you'll find yourself on what looks like heaven; beautiful oceanview windows overlooking the bay. When you come down, you'll be greeted by the sweetest angel, Hannah. You'll find her in the kitchen in the morning making an all you can eat breakfast. Don't be rude! Say hello, grab a coffee, make your way to the patio and find a table. Hannah will let you know when all is ready based on first-out on the patio. When asked what was my favorite meal in Hawaii, hands down, I say Hannah's breakfast. She made delicious Banana Nut Waffles topped with macadamia nuts tossed in coconut oil and syrup. Pros: - Conveniently located close to grocery stores, gas stations and lot of restaurants. - The architecture of the house is quite beautiful and well-maintained, but the age of the house is still apparent. - One of the biggest reasons for renting this place for us was to have a private pool and I was 100% satisfied with it. The architecture of the house provides perfect privacy. The view of the beach from the house is fantastic and I was grateful to be able to watch the sunset while lying on the pool chair after a swim. - Plenty supplies of towels, kitchen utensils and pool floats. Cons: - Cross-ventilation of the house is not that great and temperature difference is apparent. The inside of the house is few degrees warmer than outside. The cool breeze doesn't effectively enter the house. Since this place doesn't have an AC, it can get really hot inside the house during the day. We were out almost entire day and returned in the evening, so it was okay most of the time. - You won't have much privacy if you are sharing the space with other people. You can easily see through the master suite from as far as the kitchen area. - The "ceiling" in many places within the house is low, so you have to be really careful. Final thoughts: Staying here is a unique experience. The property managers are transparent about everything and very easy to communicate with. If this sounds like a place you would want to stay in, then go for it!

I have misphonia, like Wilson did, which can make day to day sounds unbearable but the orchestra of nature and music phantasmic. I stayed with my two little girls, husband and life long friend. We were all cozy in the Writer's Studio. Barbara and Phoenix were my two favorite people I met on the island. Typically I avoid people in the morning. After the first morning, I looked forward to seeing them with my cup of coffee. In fact, I kept my ear out for them with love and curiosity. Breakfast was great with our morning visits from the green anole. In the shower, hot water came after the suggested four minute waiting period and my daughters and I all showered in succession with no break of warmth. We played chess and read tarot cards. We cuddled with their animals and watched the exotic birds dance in the trees. I didn't want to be around the rich, resort crowd. In fact, I loathe them. I wanted to be in the jungle, sleeping in my clothes, relaxing in my den. There is a place I love in Joshua Tree called Hicksville I faithfully visit any chance I get. I feel the same way about Dragonfly Ranch.

Once we checked in, I couldn't help but to be shocked how beautiful the place looked. We had a one bedroom condo that had a Cal King bed, full-size refrigerator, full-size kitchen, full-size washer and dryer, huge living room with another pullout bed from the sofa. Nice dining room to eat from, plates and silverware for us to use with no extra charge. And awesome air-conditioning. They have a towel service too. What I like, is that there's no housekeeping unless you request it. So you don't have to worry about anybody walking in on you in the morning. There's a patio that overlooked the pools. They have staff that helped you organize the activities on the island. There are two small gyms on site and two swimming pools and like three Jacuzzis. They have a restaurant that's located by the main pool area. It's kind of pricey, but then again everything on this island is really expensive. But the staff were extremely friendly especially the kitchen that are at the Pool area. You also can rent umbrellas and chairs for when you go to the beach. Which I'm still upset, I didn't take advantage of that. I kept forgetting. They have a full-size tennis court and other games as well. The only thing is I wish they had was an on-site masseuse for visitors. Oh yeah, I wish there was access to the beach from this location. There's not, you can't walk straight to the beach. You have to drive there. And there's a really close shopping center literally across the street. I really enjoyed this place. We definitely want to come back. I have no desire to go back to a regular hotel ever again. Highly recommend this place.

It was definitely a must because of how hot and humid it was. The room smells funky and hot if there isn't any AC. You are given a key that you insert into the wall to be able to use the AC. It's not fast to work either but the AC does work consistently. No beach access from this resort, we tried asking. They have golf course, a basketball court, pickleball/tennis courts, and two pools with jacuzzis. Also a gym center that's small. What i liked: You get a wristband that you can use as your hotel key card as well! Make sure to put your parking permit up when you park. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. Hotel room we kept our slippers on because the floors didn't look too clean. Shower floors too but there's mats to unroll and place. Utilized the kitchen well and enjoyed google casting from our devices on the TVs and the free wifi was pretty slow but still did the job.
