We have taken three of their "Morning Walks" with our grandkids and it's a perfect introduction to hiking. Honestly we've had three different ...wonderful.. experiences. It's not strenuous and you're taken back to some private land that you'd not have access to if you just drove up and parked (if you found a parking spot) and hiked back in. We were lucky to have the lovely, fun, and knowledgeable guide named Randolyn ..aka Ran. She was the perfect blend of kind, patient and engaging with the grandkids, and very helpful with us old folks! On the drive on the way home she advised a few newbies to the island where some great places to eat were... they greatly appreciated her ideas! She had the most pleasant demeanor.... :) If you want a fun morning walk, call Hike Maui

I would give 10 stars if I had the choice…read more This was an easy Rainforest walk package with a little adventure of diving and swimming in the water added in, if you wanted to that is - no force. Brian was just soo fun, and soo informative. He balanced all our interests absolutely wonderfully, it was just amazing. The kid was thrilled with the his dino costume (Oh my god! the costume, he wore it on the Entire trip except when jumping off the rocks ofcourse), the adult in the other group with all the geological tectonics knowledge that flowed like an uninterrupted volcano from his mouth...non stop, and me with all the native plant life info. The Hala tree amazed me and so did the big red flower- torch ginger, which actually looks like a vibrant staff fit for a king. I would never have learnt about them in detail if not for this trip. All this besides the actual trip to the waterfalls, the encouragement he gave to the other group was astounding (I don't swim myself unfortunately, or the fun would have tripled for me). He supported, guided, advised, and made them have the time of their life with the diving and the swimming. Three cheers to the B.Rex. Hike Maui site itself had useful info for the walk and I brought the water shoes after reading about it on their site, it really worked great out there. Pick up was right on time and the directions were pretty clear, but u could have mentioned near Kahului Park and Ride, I mistook the 8 min drive for 8 min walk, and walked up from my hotel ! Hike Maui arranged for backpacks and that was very useful too. To just it throw it on our shoulders and walk freely. The little snacks were good after the walk. The best part was the passion fruit which was handed out as a parting gift. It was my first time to eat that fruit too. Note: The waterfalls are accessible privately with rental car too. You could explore the area in your own sweet time. But I did notice there were not many signs with specific directions inside the forest. And no labels on the plants. Most places no mobile signals either. That said, you could do it on your own. I cannot say enough about this trip. It is for all ages and a great little Maui to explore comfortably. Big Island Zipline Tour was a fantastic experience! Easy booking, pre-waiver review and signing,…read moreand day of guidance from Ryley, Josh, Rose, and the front desk staff. Upon arrival, there is safe parking monitored by cameras. Check-in consisted of confirming your reservation, pre-signed waiver, and weighing in. Inside you have the option to purchase any last minute bug spray (which I did due to the tendency of being eaten by bugs & the natural spray they sold worked great!), sunblock, t-shirts, and snacks. There are also some maps, local recommendations, and a sign in book to look at while waiting for your tour. They have complementary water, fanny packs to use while zip lining, and clean restrooms. After checking in, you will wait until the guides support you with putting on your helmet and other gear. They will check to make sure your gear is secured and comfortable. There will be a brief safety briefing and then you take a quick van ride as a group to where the 7-line course beings. Rose is the van driver- she did a great job maneuvering the van, keeping us safe, and supporting us on the course! Along the way, the guides, Josh and Ryley, shared about the various plans and spaces we were viewing, which was a nice to learn about! Appreciated Ryley's humor!! The course was awesome! Speaking from someone who did ziplining over 15 years ago in Puerto Rico and now in my mid-30 a little nervous about doing it since I flaked jumping out of a plane to skydive in Oahu, I was nervous how I would do. Well, I did it, and it felt great! All seven of the lines were great- safe, sturdy, and enjoyable. The communication between the guides, including Rose, at times, was spot on to ensure safety. The lines were checked, were informed of what to do before we went and how to land/arrive on the platform. It was all very well planned and set up. Each platform also had a little history of a Hawaiian word which the guide shared some of the history with us about! It was a great tour- friendly and knowledgeable team of guides and driver, good group of tourist, and beautiful course. My favorite lines were 6 and 7 (haha), and yes, I would do it again, and utilize this company for other excursion because of their organization, adherence to safety, and aloha spirit.

Some holes and obstacles could definitely use a little TLC, and a few signs were missing, but overall it was a solid, entertaining setup. One thing that did take away from the experience a bit was the number of unsupervised children. Despite the clearly posted signs saying kids must be with an adult, there were several groups of children running across the course and even in front of us while we were taking shots without an adult in sight. Still, we had a lot of fun and would recommend it, especially if you can go at a quieter time. It's a great spot for some lighthearted competition and island vibes.

Having a toddler means hearing "let's go swing" almost every day. Yano Hall happens to be the closest one to my house. A stones throw away from Manago Hotel (go eat there!), this playground is perfect for my two year old. Properly enclosed with a gate, you walk in and see swings, both traditional as well as the bigger round ones for the younger kids (to sit inside). There is also the big plastic/metal playground kids can climb up/on, as well as slides. There is a big one for older kids, as well as a separate smaller ones for the younger keiki. In addition to the playground, there is a covered pavilion as well, so enough space for parents to put their things, as well as get some shade. It's a great place to eat a snack while playing. The playground is fenced in, so no worries of kids running off easily, and there are water fountains and bathrooms as well. The playground is hardly ever crowded, and my child has a ton of fun there. I am very appreciative this place exists, as it gives us somewhere to go have fun and be active.

Even just driving through the area was a breathtaking experience. Everything here is so lush and green. And the office manager was THE BEST. Extremely kind. So hospitable.
