Highly recommend this experience. Had a blast with Max and Quinton leading us. I was really nervous but they made me feel safe and I had so much fun. My 9 year old son learned so much and had an amazing time zipping through. I even got to race him. Max and Quinton are very knowledgeable, laid back, and very respectful. They are wonderful Guides and excellent instructors to us and to one of their new team members Elijah. Elijah even offered to drop off fruit for us. There was something special about this group of people who worked here. They made this experience magical and we truly felt the Aloha spirit.

Had an amazing time today with myself and 3 kids. Our guides Max and Quinton were so much fun. I enjoyed the info about the land and nature. Fun was had by all!

Off the beaten path so you get to take on the local countryside...very nice drive. We ended up with a private tour. Our guides were great. Continuous belay system was unique and cool. Pretty much on belay the entire time. Easy walk/climb to elements. Suspension bridge was good. Most of the lines were off towers in the meadow so not real high. Not overly fast and a good system to brake you at the end of each run. Guides gave suggestions to make the lines fun. Good go.

Got to cross a hanging bridge to go to the higher levels. Super safe and still connected the entire way to the zip lines.

Amazing zip line tour by Caleb and Dallas. Greatly appreciate the clarity and patience they've had with each one of us. We had children in the tour and I was extremely impressed and happy with how accommodating and uplifting they were throughout the tour. Highly recommend it and can't wait to do it again when I come back to the island.

    The best guides !!

We had the best time with our guides Quinton and "Hawaiian Tarzan " they kept us safe and showed us how to have a little fun on the zip line too. We were given great information about the island and the plants/trees along with lots of great recommendations of where to eat and what to do. Make sure to book your tour a few days in advance to ensure they have space for you.

Awesome experience for the entire family! We loved the upcountry location and history of the facility. Zip-lines were very family friendly, as my five and seven year old braved them all and had a great time. Our team leader, nick-named "sweet tea" or who I liked to call "sweetie" and his crew Emily and Caleb were awesome, exceptionally friendly and great with my kids, not to mention the overall group. It was just a fun and great time my kids will most likely remember forever. Thank you NorthShore

My family of four (2 boys ages 10 and 12) had a great time at NorthShore Zipline last week during our Maui vacation. The course/property/grounds were great but what really made this adventure special were our guides Sweet T and Mike Mike. They were informative, funny, and super personable. We stayed over on the West Shore - the drive took about an hour and was not bad at all. There are a few good spots to check out nearby so you can make a day of it. I absolutely recommend - we will be back next time on Maui!

Amazing experience! Took my 5 year old daughter for the first time and the staff Kai and Jackson were amazing with her! Angelo was great. We got lost and were late and the group and staff waited for us! The staff were so much fun! Could not recommend more. Nice breeze and beautiful views!

This was my second or third time zip lining so I was prepared for the experience. I like the history behind the area, which is that it used to be a WWII marines base. The entire crew were super super friendly and made sure to keep everyone engaged, even while sitting and waiting for our turns to go. The ziplining itself was just so so though honestly. It's perhaps due to the fact that I've been a little spoiled from my past experiences, which involved being hundreds of feet above the ground. It was not bad or anything, and I of course still had fun, the zip lines just weren't very high or particularly long. One thing I really liked though is that from start to finish, everyone is actually hooked up to a safety line making it impossible to fall off any of the platforms.

This was a fantastic adventure. Beautiful views. Not to scary for those in our group who don't like heights and exciting enough for those that are comfortable with them. Our guides Kai and Jack were great.

Booking this activity online was very easy! You have to arrive 30 mins prior to your reservation to get the run down on safety and get strapped in. We've never zip lined before and so glad we got to do this as a family! My son is 7 years old and he was able to participate! The instructors, Dallas and Pace (I think that's what their names were) were amazing! They helped everyone along with our C-cord clip thing. They explained everything thoroughly and kept us safe! We did 7-lines and it was just enough. We all had a great time and would definitely recommend this place!!!

It was an honor to see how this small farm is maintaining the heritage and history after the large corporations have abandoned the islands. The pineapple they grow is absolutely delicious and I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about it. Our tour guide was Brian, and he was extremely funny and engaging throughout. We took a short ride from the general store, which is where you check in, up to the farm to see the various stages of growth. We learned how the pineapples are harvested and I have a newfound respect for the amount of work it takes to grow a single pineapple. The highlight for me was learning how to properly cut a pineapple, which I thought would be no easy feat, but once you know how to do it, it is extremely simple. Sampling the pineapple out in the Maui sunshine was the cherry on top. I highly recommend coming to take this tour and if not, at least stopping by the store to purchase some fresh pineapple or other pineapple related products.

I also want to apologize for revising this review twice; my first attempt was rushed and full of misspellings, and the second was a quick fix of those errors. However, after being home and having the time to relax and reflect, I realized there were details gnawing at my soul that I needed to share. While I could have justified the $250 price tag if the experience had met my expectations of what was included, I simply cannot justify it for the experience we actually had. I am left with a soured, bitter aftertaste in my heart for an experience that I wanted with my family. It is hard for me to give a five-star rating just because someone "tried"; I believe a top-tier rating must be earned through the experience one had, and Jan lacked in presentation, friendliness, and overall value. For our party of four, we paid $1,000, and in hindsight, we could have had a significantly better experience by using our own rental car and buying a high-quality telescope for half the cost. Don't get me wrong, the views were amazing, but Jan expected the National Park (which she did not create) to carry the entire value of the tour. There was no historical context shared about the land; she simply relied on the scenery to do the work. The lack of consideration for her guests was most apparent in how she rushed us. Both of my parents have medical limitations--my mother is a brain surgery survivor and my stepfather was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. Both were medically cleared by their doctors for this visit, so while their conditions were not life-threatening, they naturally move at a slower pace, or what some would refer to as "Hawaii time." At the stop at the top of the mountain, Jan initially told us we would have an hour to look around, then suddenly changed it to 15 minutes. This was incredibly insensitive; 15 minutes is a rush for someone physically fit, let alone for people managing mobility issues. The actual stargazing was equally frustrating and felt hypocritical. Jan would complain if someone accidentally turned on a phone screen, claiming it affected her dilated pupils, yet she had no problem using a high-powered laser pointer against rocks instead of the sky, refracting the light directly into our eyes. Furthermore, none of us got long at the telescope because she insisted on refocusing it after every two people, all while a personal friend of hers joined for free and took up our paid telescope time. To put the lack of value in perspective, we recently paid $165 for a snorkeling tour on a catamaran that included a crew of five, two full meals, and equipment. Here, we had to bring our own snacks and water, and Jan even requested to use our personal National Park passes to get the group through the gate. Between the conspiracy theories playing loudly on the radio, her robotic and demanding attitude, and the underwhelming equipment, we felt massively overcharged. You can find better value elsewhere or by driving yourself at your own pace.

From start to finish, everything was well organized and comfortable. We traveled in a tall Mercedes Sprinter van, which made the drive much more enjoyable with less motion sickness than expected. The seats were comfortable and there was plenty of room to store personal items. Janet provided warm jackets and pants, which were greatly appreciated since temperatures at the summit can drop into the 60s and feel much cooler with the wind. She really thought of everything. We toured the summit area of Haleakalā, enjoyed snacks and dinner while watching a spectacular sunset, and then transitioned into an incredible night of stargazing. The telescope views were stunning--far more detailed than I expected. We were able to see so much, and the images through the telescope were truly unforgettable. Janet is exceptionally knowledgeable and did a fantastic job explaining astronomy, the night sky, and Hawaiian history and culture. She used a laser pointer to guide us through the constellations, making it easy to follow along and understand what we were seeing. No question seemed too small, and her enthusiasm was contagious. Most importantly, the entire experience was fun, respectful, relaxed, and full of good vibes. Janet clearly loves what she does, and it shows. If you're considering a Haleakalā stargazing tour, I highly recommend booking with Janet. It was an incredible experience that we'll remember for years to come. She provides you with a PowerPoint presentation at the end and pictures highlighting the stars! Above and beyond! You can't see the objects you will see without her high powered telescope!
