The diamond fell out of the pinky ring that had been my mothers. It is sentimental to me. I went in the beautiful store, next to the new Safeway. I was greeted by Cameron Bailey-Bram and the owner Mike Schiff. They were very warm and professional. They told me their jeweler could replace the diamond and have it fixed by Monday. This review is long overdue! There were two people in the store when I stopped by to take a look and hopefully get something for my partner who wasn't present while I was visiting. I wish I could remember their names but it was sometime between Sept 5-9 2022. The selection is very silver forward but I was able to find the perfect 14K gold addition to my partners collection with the help of the lovely person behind the counter. The service was wonderful from the beginning - when I called asking a few basic questions (and because I couldn't find the new location lol) to when I made into the store and was helped immediately. Well, he was actually listening and one day we were in town and he said, "let's go look at that ring you said you liked"! "What, you heard that?" These people will steal your gold!!! Do not get your jewelry fixed here! I took my wedding ring in to fix a little missing diamond, when I got it back it was clearly shaved down, made skinnier and one of the little diamonds that was a few MM from the edge was now completely on the edge and fell off right away. They have done this to me twice now. The rings come back shaved down, skinnier and lighter. I don't know who takes your precious heirlooms and steals a little gold at a time but it is not okay. Horrible horrible Karma coming to these thieves. read more

Brought in a 20" necklace for a simple broken link at the clasp No big deal. Probably could be done blindfolded. Went it to pick it up only to find it to be a different style, smaller diameter, and 24" long. During the intake, the salesperson also mentioned that it was RARE. So how in the world a RARE piece comes back to be a "basic link" style. The sales person claims that is the same chain. Claims that it is the same weight. (take a shorter, thicker chain and a longer thinner chain, of course they can weigh the same). The intake picture that was provided to us is bogus. That photo was taken without us being present. The photo shows the correct clasp but with the basic link style chain. So, did the original chain get swapped out before going to the jeweler? Hmmmmmm? Why did the sales person mention that it was RARE? Hmmmmm? This is not the first incident with this sales person. A few years back, a small vertical pendant with 6 small diamonds was brought in to have kinked link on the chain to be repaired. She insisted on leaving the pendant. We just left the chain. Hmmmmmm? Be careful, take photos and all information with both parties present! read more

This is just reviewing watch repair. I've taken watches in for battery replacement several times and it has been fast and easy. They also warranty their battery for one year, and I was impressed when they replaced a battery for free when it only had 5 months on it and I'd forgotten the fact. They put the replacement date inside the watch and mentioned that they replaced it, when I'd completely forgotten it. Honest and trustworthy are good traits in a jeweler :) read more

A week and a half ago, I had a ring re-sized at their Kailua-Kona location (near Safeway on Henry Street). They described the process of sending the ring out to a jeweler, and how the jeweler will physically re-size the ring. They also allowed me to use the loop and the gem tester to see the basic characteristics of the ring. They gave me the option of paying right then, or later when I pick the ring up. This was all very reassuring. They estimated that the ring would be ready to be picked up in about a week or a week and a half. The ring was ready to be picked up after 11 days, which was reasonably within their estimate. When I picked the ring up (yesterday), they taught me a little more. They let me use the loop again, and they showed me the specific "fingerprints" or inclusions of the ring, so that I would be able to tell this exact ring from others. They also taught me how to get an appraisal, how to get it insured, how the appraisal would impact the insurance, what the trends for the value might be like, and how to best care for the ring. They also let me know that I could get the ring cleaned there every six months free of charge. The ladies there were so kind, reassuring, and reliable. I'm grateful they treated me like a valued customer. I apologize for not getting their names. I think one of the ladies that helped me was named Brenda. read more

I visited Kama'aina Diamond Company's Waikoloa store at Queens Marketplace recently and was impressed with the variety of not only their traditional jewelry, like wedding engagement rings, watches, necklaces etc but was very pleased to see they offered an extensive selection of Hawaiiana jewelry and estate pieces. Mike, the manager, was very knowledgeable and helpful. Attentive but not pushy which I appreciated. Sometimes at some jewelry stores you can really feel the pressure like they are trying to "sell" you. Not the case here. Definite aloha feeling. I got my wedding ring cleaned while I was there (complimentary service). Wow what a difference! I also picked up a very cool and unique Hawaiian themed pendant and necklace that will be a real conversation piece when I give it to my wife. They have a very broad range of prices on their pieces from very modest (under $50) all the way up to a $45,000 loose diamond, with many items in between. The manager also told me they specialize in designing one of a kind custom wedding rings so whether you are looking for something unique or just need a watch battery changed, this store is a full service place. I would highly recommend it if you're in Waikoloa area. Can't speak for their Kona location. Have not shopped there. Almost forgot.
