A few years ago, I was reading one of my favorite magazines and in the section that recommends stuff for dudes, it mentioned the attractive - but still manly! - inlaid titanium rings produced by the talented staff at Hawaiian Titanium Rings. I am not one for jewelry, and only condone two simple pieces for myself: a wedding ring and a nice timepiece. I saw the ad one time in Hana Hou magazine (http://www.yelp.com/biz/hana-hou-the-magazine-of-hawaiian-airlines-honolulu-2) while flying on Hawaiian Airlines. I thought that it was different. All my friends got married before me and had different kind of rings. Of course, I couldn't get something similar. So, titanium rings with wood? That piqued my curiosity. Let me say, I'm not a big jewelry guy and even less of a ring guy. I really like my ring though. I ordered a simple ring with African Amboyna wood inlay. I liked the wood because I liked the curly appearance of the wood grain. The ring itself is light as a feather. The edges are nice and round, so it slides on and off seamlessly. Additionally, I had it's a great fit so as not to come off. The price was very good for what I ordered, but he has quite a few intricate customized options that can make the price skyrocket if that's more your speed. I've contacted Jerry via his website several times and found him to be very responsive. I need to go back to get a touch up on my ring and plan on stopping by next month to say hello as well. Hawaii has always held a very special place in our hearts, so when my wife and I saw these rings in a magazine, we knew we had to have a look. These rings are beautiful in a magazine, but even more stunning in person. The craftsmanship and originality of each piece gives us a sense that we have something uniquely hand crafted. My wife and I have had our wedding bands for 26 years and while the original bands had some sentimental value, getting paired bands from Hawaii Titanium rings was a really easy decision once we saw how beautiful these were. We came across this store while shopping in the Kailua-Kona area (just up the road from the Coconut Grove Shopping Center). I'd lost my wedding band two days before while snorkeling, and my wife and I both liked these rings as soon as we saw them, and both of us had the same thought to replace my wedding band with a ring made right there in Hawaii. Since we were married on Maui, what better way to commemorate those memories of paradise than with a ring that's not only built to last, but had the wood from the Koa tree, a wood that is endemic only to Hawaii and is protected (only dead falls may be harvested). We had pretty much decided to get a ring from this store, but since they didn't have the size I needed (9.75) for the style I wanted, we decided to wait and order online when we got home to Utah. The price is the same whether you order right there on the Island or online, and shipping/engraving is free. The owner, Jerry Guire, is very prompt to respond via email and answered any questions we had prior to ordering. Price for all the 'basic' rings with wood inlays was $287.50, and included the shipping, tax, and engraving. You can spend a lot more if you want something customized, and their website will show you some great examples of the what they can do. My ring looks awesome, is very lightweight, and fits perfect. I stumbled upon their store in the shops in Kailua Kona. Their selection of rings is amazing, so much so that I had one custom made for my wedding. I came with a platinum ring for the big day (which I'll be returning) that cost five times as much and doesn't have nearly the character of the band I purchased from them. The also provided free engraving, which came out as beautifully as the ring. It was a rush job and they met me at a place not too far from where I'm staying to ensure I had it in time for my wedding later that day. The post office lost it shortly before we were to leave for our wedding, but the owner (Jerry) quickly put together a brand new ring with engraving and offered to overnight it so we could have it in time for our wedding. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, and they bent over backwards to help us out, and weren't even put out when the post office found the original ring after they'd already made the new one. In a very difficult time for our family with the unexpected death of my sister's husband, they took such wonderful care of us. We took her husband's titanium/koa wood ring here to be cleaned for her before the funeral and were told since it wasn't one of their rings, they wouldn't clean it. When I explained the circumstances, they immediately made time in their schedule that day to take care of it. Within an hour it was done and absolutely beautiful. With no charge. When I returned to pick it up, the woman up front and the jeweler both made sure I was happy with the result before I left. They truly made my sister smile when she needed it most. read more

While the ring got here on time and is beautiful, the post office managers had to search for the package because our box number we gave Hawaiian Titanium Rings wasn't written as part of our address, so the package was not easily accessible for me to get from the post office folks. We were surprised to see that my ring was wrapped in tissue like toilet paper with no care what so ever, as if it did not matter to the person packing it and not sent in a ring box. The engraving on the inside of my ring is barely noticeable, once again, as if it did not matter to the person engraving. Considering that we purchased two rings at the same time coming to thousands of dollars, we were expecting better packaging, the delivery to be sent to the correct address, and most of all that the engraving be visible. We are reasonable people and understand that mistakes happen but these were NOT mistakes this was just right out sloppiness from people that just did not care. While these people are nice folks, it makes us feel as if once Hawaiian Titanium Rings got our money they did not care. This also puts into question the craftsmanship of the rings, if they don't care enough to not do this command sense issues than what's the craftsmanship like and will it hold up out through the years? Only time will tell. When confronted about this matter the girl we worked with at Hawaiian Titanium Rings was once again very nice and since we live in Hawaii we can stop by the next time we are on the Big Island to have the engraving corrected, but once again that does not compensate for the sloppiness and lack of professionalism and care that should come with spending thousands of dollars on wedding rings that are sacred to us. read more

I recently bought a 2 tone ring for my boyfriend who is a carpenter, his favorite is purple heart and we live in California so he also likes redwood. It turned out exactly like we wanted. Except I had the wrong size so sent it back and they got it right back to me in the right size.Their website is fun to look at all the different types they offer, and super user friendly. I was so amazed at all the different types of wood they offered also. I first spoke with the owner Jerry who seemed to be very down to earth, and super friendly. He put me in contact with one of his employees, Shana, and I cannot say enough great things about her. She was super nice, professional over the phone always willing to help me with my special requests and minor details. Every time I e mailed her she responded right away, and was just a delight to work with, she really seemed to care about my needs. My boyfriend who is not a ring person, really likes the fact it is made of wood and not just another gold or silver ring(although I believe they have all different types of metals also ). It is unique and custom made no two are ever alike which makes it even more special. They even engraved a hummingbird on the inside of the ring which made it even more special.
