I walked in to buy some Crocs for my son since this seemed to be the closest store to me. I had parked outside so when I walked in, I asked if I could get my parking validated. Employee said she didnt validate parking. I inquired as to how I was able to purchase Crocs if I coulnt park. She said I could validate at ABC. I asked if I had to buy something over there and she said she didnt know. Again I said I didnt understand how I could buy crocs if I couldn't park. She stood up and started coming at me and asked why I was "escalating things"....I wasn't I was simply trying to figure out how I could buy crocs without getting my vehicle ticketed. This is the cutest little t-shirt shop. Yes it's a tourist stop on the main drag through the waterfront, but they have some really fun shirts here and the owner is super friendly and takes his time to talk with you with genuine interest. Came in to look for some shirts as souvenirs for family but only my daughter found a shirt. Shirt is soft and cost was $20 and she found some sunglasses for $15. Store had so many shirt options for adults and kids. The lady working was super sweet!! When we checked out she exchanged my daughter's shirt from the one she had chosen from the rack that had been outside in the sun and a bit faded for one that was kept in the storage area behind the register. This establishment sells apparel of all sorts, and their t-shirts have very unique messages. I purchased two of their high-quality tees and am very happy with them. KG also RENTS boogie boards. We inquired at many places, and this was the only place close to the resort that rents the boards. This is a genuine kindness! Quality body boards are costly, and visitors have to choose between leaving the boards in Hawaii at the end of their trip or figuring out the logistics of shipping it home. The owners of this place get customer service. I bought a pair of Crocs sandals here Monday. By the following day they were starting to make my feet sore. By yesterday the tops of my toes were rubbed raw. The owner wasn't hugely pleased, but he let me "trade up" to a more comfortable shoe--paying only the difference. Thanks Kona Gear Guy!!! It's literally 3 weeks later and I am STILL thinking about how rude the women who worked here was. She bordered on psychotic. If this review could be 0 stars it would be.Worst customer service experience I've ever had. I'd already made a purchase and was thinking about buying another t-shirt when the women working there got angry about how I was refolding the t-shirts. She said "seriously is this how you fold at home?" And gave me a dirty look. She heard my boyfriends mom suggest we leave and go to the ABC store next-door (where the service is super friendly) and agreed that we should leave and go there. Very nice people work here, it's a great location and all the merchandise is always clean and new. They have a lot of options and the price is always good. I've been coming here for a while now every time e come to town and have never been disappointed. Good prices, great customer experience and everyone is always super friendly. My wife needed a pair of crocs to use for walking on the beach. We had bought some here years ago. The shop was still there. Big selection. Parking lot came in handy as it is located in a wasteland of shops that cater to tourists in Kona. Only drawback was they were much more pricey than getting online. read more

Looking for shirts for family members you'd like to bring back a little something for.. and the employee standing right next to you folding the shirts your touching without saying a word. COME ON give me some space!!!! You ask the lady is it ok if I look at shirts and her response... I do work here. LOL that's great but fold on your time not mine. Then after 20 mins of searching and getting to check out she tells us she's not selling us the shirts. I'm sure the owners would be pleased. Been here several times over the years to buy Crocs slippers. The last time I bought two pair and put one pair away for later. The first pair being almost worn out, I decided to pack the new ones with me on this trip. So, the issue is, I'm trying to replace them or at least get advice on what to do since this pair, having worn them once for about 15 minutes, cut my foot up in two places. I can see from looking at both, that the one which is cutting my foot is different than the other one and any other pair I have owned or any of the slippers I looked at at the store. The clerk I spoke with twice with the personality of a frozen fish fillet was not helpful at all and only able to tell me when the owner is "usually" there. Since they don't answer the phone and I've called several times, I can't verify if this or any other time is when he is usually there. I did get a call back from the owner it had gone to voicemail twice before. The call appeared to be from a cell phone and not the number at the store, which might be why it wasn't answered. He asked me to meet him there the next day. When I came in, he was willing to exchange them even though I had purchased them quite a while ago. I mentioned that I understood that, had explained it to the clerk and him on the voicemail, and asked what to do in these circumstances. The new ones fit fine and have been worn for a day with no problems. Don't expect much help form Crocs. I gave them all the information, including the they were new and only worn briefly. Here is there response: In order for us to better understand what happened to you that day, please provide us with the following information: (a) what model of Crocs™ shoes you were wearing that day (photographs of the shoe in question including the sole would be most helpful); (b) when and where did you buy the shoes? (c) had you had any previous problems with these shoes? (d) as best as you can tell, was the surface of the floor wet, dry or had any polishing agent been recently applied? (e) do you have any pictures of your injuries? (f) what condition was the sole in when this occurred (again, a close up picture would be helpful); (g) where did this occur and were there any eyewitnesses? (h) was the shoe damaged after this event? If your shoe was damaged, can you provide us with a close up picture of the damage? I responded by asking if he was a layer and told him the store had replaced them. I would have preferred to send them to Crocs but based on their response, did not believe I'd ever see another pair. read more
