For those suggesting I call, I did. Acting store manager refused to allow my Keiki and even my wife from bringing one out to me. I lived w shopping here before now no longer. Walmart in Hilo did the same. They're owned by FEMA (Hilo Walmart) so apparently FEMA & whoever owns Target don't care a lot for their disabled customers. This Target is so terrible I feel I must wait. Firstly, my Donor's Choose TV... I had to buy a TV through Target because no one would ship a 75" TV to my classroom. It was a donation from the Benioff's to DOE and it takes a ton of work to do the requests. No one would ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever,e ver, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever answer the phone to check stock. I tried to pick it up at the store. I live an hour and 10 minutes away. Order cancelled because, although the website said it was there, it wasn't, so the system cancels but did not notify anyone at Donor's Choose or me. THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES, FOUR DRIVES TO KONA AT $40 A POP. I spoke with two floor and one customer service manager and those ding dongs absolutely would not hold the PAID FOR TV until I came to get it because I had already spent $160 of my money, not my school's to pick it up. They just could not figure it out, It took me over an hour to get a store manager to agree to keep his eye out and then put it in his office so it wouldn't get sold. That never happened. It was in the back with all of the other stuff in the back. Luckily, I came back the next day, so $200 in gas. Such a ghetto organization. Shameful how poor the customer service is. It is so embarrasing because people from other places that understand how customer service works come to Kona and get to experience how stupid people are..... And another thing- I never buy food at Target because it is always expired. I happened to pick up a bag of popcorn on sale because I was hungry- Expired again and I didn't notice until half the bag was gone. Target, you should replace your managers and service people. in Kona for the week on vacation. my husband and I went to Target for a few items, one being wine. I picked up a couple bottles of Joel Gott Cabernet for $16.99 but three days ago bought the same exact wine at Wal Mart for $13.66 and had that receipt with me. when I got to the counter to pay, I asked if they would price match as I had a recent receipt fir them to verify. I was told they don't price match. They should! That's $3.66 more than Wal Mart. We won't be buying from Target while here anymore. Very expensive in a place where everything is super expensiv...not a good value and they don't give a crap if you go somewhere else. Loved the big bright clean store with colourful cheerful displays of tropical beach & swimwear greeting us on arrival, along with this cutie (see picture ) Employees were always friendly & helpful. Excellent grocery department and the sold my favourite - Ace Pineapple Cider (bought 11 cases and drank them all! ) Cosmetics department could of been better. This new policy where the employees need to smile and talk to you when they are within a certain amount of feet from you is creepy and toxic. I will walk up to an employee and ask for help if I need it. This new policy makes me feel like I did something wrong and people are following me to make sure I didn't steal. Upper management made target a horrible place to shop (it actually always was but it was because of upper management and their toxicity and new policies) . You got rid of DEI and now you are making your employees be creepy and obnoxious. You really don't get it do you? Target is a horrible company! If there were other places to get stuff other than Walmart I would go there. If you need to get snacks and drink for those long drives this is the place to go to. Decided to go to Target as soon as I stepped off the plane. I knew my trip to the Big Island would involve long drives and the hotel that I was staying at was 40 minutes from the nearest shopping mall. What surprised my was how busy this Target was. Even though there's a Walmart kind of close by seems like a lot of people were shopping here. Is there something special about this Target? From the looks it's exactly how every other Target is on the mainland. Prices are reasonable for the area. And there's a Pizza Hut shelf area near the registers that the Target staff maintain. Starbucks is pretty popular but it's nothing special either. The staff are friendly and are willing to help if you just ask. read more

The target on the big island ( Kona) is very nice. We went to Walmart after we arrived on the island to get small things. Mustard mayo salt pepper etc. when I went to target those items were much cheaper at Target along with many other items we might see on the mainland. Even though they didn't have to quantity of vegetables Walmart does, (we weren't buying those anyway), their price were reasonable for what they had. The essentials in the veggie Dept onion, tomatoes limes bananas. Etc. we're a decent price. We have been going to Target also, as Walmart is soooo crowded here and the parking is horrendous. . But hey I love how clean the stores are and the self check out, that they have Starbucks located inside and that I save 5% with my Red Card. Oh yea and how convenient that I can place an order on the app and it'll be ready in about 2 hours!! I mean they really know how to appeal to the consumer. Convenience and savings!! This particular Target however due to Covid, the Starbucks is closed and no outdoor drinks or food allowed to be consumed while in stores. Masks required and not allowed to be removed from face while in store. We didn't purchase anything while here, just browsed the store. He told me he "targeted " me because i have filed multiple complaints about customer service in the past, and when i expressed my displeasure in him singling me out and I vowed not to shop there any more, he replied "that's ok, we don't need you, since you always have somthing to complain about. My husband and I spent a week in Big Island, and we stopped by this Target on our way in from the airport to pick up supplies for our trip. We were staying at a resort, so we figured it might make sense to get some booze and snacks here, at real world prices. Also, both of us forgot to pack sunglasses. This was a huge Target, with everything we needed spread across one floor. We got Kettle chips, pretzel crisps, and rice crackers; bourbon and bitters and passion orange guava juice. We both got cheap sunglasses that we ended up liking a lot, and I even picked up a couple of cute maternity dresses. Parking and check-out were easy, and we were in and out pretty fast. Definitely a worthwhile stop that let us laze around at our hotel all week without having to make room charges whenever we got hungry or thirsty. I wasn't drinking, but my husband went through a good amount of beer, wine, and whiskey, and figured each time he drank, he was saving several dollars. If you're vacationing on this side of the island, you might consider a Target run while you're near town. read more

I came here because I need some baby products and new swimsuit and I found way more than I was also looking for Hawaiian gift for my friend and I found lots of it and the prices where really good!!! Plus, I got lots of snacks for the road trip, and many of them was on sale. The bikini selection was amazing!! I was impressed about how many choices of bikinis and dresses target offers. You want to buy one and end up buying 10!!! The selection of hair products are also very good. Especially if you are looking for something to protect yourself hair from the sat water. I am o my giving four stars because it was very hard to find someone to help us and there is not enough cashiers to help you during rush hour... We stopped in to grab some snacks, beverages, and alcohol before checking in to our hotel in Keauhou as this was on the way, and there are no sundry stores in that area that I know of. This is the Big Island's first Target store, located in the Kona Commons mall (the second store is in Hilo). There's lots of parking as they're located across the street from the main mall by themselves and with their own parking lot. Comparing this store to the one on Maui, I can say that the inventory here seemed more plentiful and better stocked, something that's becoming a problem at the Maui location, unfortunately. They offer similar services like a pharmacy, Starbucks, and food counter, which I think was Pizza Hut. The store was not crowded, and was clean overall. I think it may even be a bit larger than ours. The only downfall with all Target stores for me personally is that they don't carry gardening supplies. Cashier lines moved quickly and they offer self-checkouts as well. TIP: Bring your own bags unless you want to pay for reusable ones, or hand carry your goods out the door. The Big Island was the third island to ban plastic bags at retail stores, following Maui and Kauai. OVERALL: Conveniently located near the airport, Kailua-Kona, and the Keauhou areas. read more

I didn't notice the retail price on a bottle of cherry juice. It was $12.99. I was thinking as I drove home I buy that same product at $6.00. I looked at Kona target on-line and it is listed in stock and $7.29. I called and was told they "price match" their on-line price just take each product up to the customer service desk and they will adjust the price. THAT IS CRAZY! $7.29 or $12.99 REALLY? So I guess you need to look every item up they have, and then have them price adjust every item in the same store. How can this be legal? I could order it on line and have it delivered to my car without any additional charge at $7.29. read more

Target was the perfect place to buy drinks and snacks for a quick weekend trip to the Big Island to run the Revel Kulia Marathon. Just as with almost all Targets, the store was clean and very well organized. I was able to find everything I wanted to buy very quickly. They even had regional specific snacks. When I was done, I was able to pay for everything with the Target app and one of their self-checkout kiosks without any problems. read more

F.Y.I if you want to use self-check out & there are 2 of you but you have your items in one wagon they wont let you. Tried to use self-check out with my other half since the other lines were long & our baby was fussy. We were planning on doing 2 separate transactions as he was paying for his items & i was paying for my own, and also mind you, we had a total of 11 items all together in the cart but again we were doing separate transactions. But because we had all our items in one cart the lady working there said we couldn't do 2 separate transactions. There were about 5 open stations and no one behind us in line! NEVER had any issues with this before. Don't see why we have to push around 2 wagons just so we can do different transactions, it's ridiculous! read more

This is the main Target of the Kailua-Kona area and it's a fairly big department store. Everything from local products to clothing to groceries to electronics and office supplies that you will ever need! It's located just north of the Historic Kailua Village. The location was pretty clean and organized when visiting over the late summer. read more

The new 12 items or less rule at self check is kind of ridiculous considering more often than not those registers are wide open and the employee ran registers have long lines backed up. Maybe this should only be implemented at peak times. Even when you have less than 12 items, the staff that work in the self check area seem to be on a major power trip and like to accuse you of missing items in your cart when you haven't even finished ringing. This store is picked over more often than not. Stock on target.com/the app is not consistent with what is on the shelves, and prices are typically several dollars more in store than online. read more

Had a little difficulty figuring out how to use the app the store clerk and the service manager went out of their way to be extra helpful. Even received a call from the customer service manager the next day to make sure that my experience had been a good one at the store.
