If you don't like fish/seafood this is not the place for you, but if you do then I can highly recommend it. However, oysters are expensive. About $3.80 each. Which means if you want a dozen as an entree it blows the price out quite a bit, but, minimum to order is 4 so you can keep the price down by ordering less. Still, a nice casual atmosphere and a good place to go for a lazy Sunday lunch featuring fresh and well-cooked seafood dishes with good service.

While the fish available changes daily, the menu as a whole hasn't really changed in the last decade- and that's not a bad thing. Sooo there's a menu, but basically what you do is you pick: 1. A Fish 2. A Sauce/Topping (eg. hollandaise and asparagus or avocado salsa or cajun crust) 3.A Potato (eg. chips or gratin or wedges or gnocchi) and order that. 90% of the time I get the tuna, with avocado salsa and chips) There is very limited seating, but the turnover is quick and high. Just give your name or number when you arrive and pop over the Shakespeare Hotel for a drink. They'll come drag you out or phone you when your table is ready (normally about 1 drink's wait). P.S. the tartar is tangingly perfect. P.P.S the chairs are all stools, so don't wear a short skirt P.P.P.S if you like your tuna pink, as for RARE not medium rare.

Our server provided excellent service. For appetizers we got natural oysters and scallops. Both were beyond amazing. It was amazing trying the scallops the way they were prepared. Me and my fiance both got Doyle's famous fish and chips with Barramundi fish which was Devine. The tartar sauce here is different than America and is so delicious. It almost reminded us of a deviled egg tartar sauce. For desert we got the tiramisu which was so fluffy and tasty. Definitely recommend dining at Doyle's!

Popping up just in time for summer, Fat Fish fills a hole that was all but tailored to them. Here is a nice shady spot for take away fish and chips in Annandale, that means the residents of this little village don't have to travel to Balmain or Glebe for good fish and chips and allows for them to shop local - an important factor for this village community. Fat Fish has a great range of salads (at least 12 different options) and prices are fair - fish and one salad for $10; fish, chips and salad for $11.50. You get a decent serving for your money, and not only is your fillet of fish large (I wish I could catch fish that big) but it is cooked to perfection - moist, softly flakey and delicious. Their menu also has a couple of good burgers and seafood packs, as well as offering grilled baby octopus, sushi and killpatrick and mornay oysters (4 for $10), but the pre-cheesed/baconed display of these oysters turned me off. They also sell fresh fish for you to cook yourself and they use only 100% cholesterol free Australian vegetable oil. There's a subtle mariner theme to this shop, with painted wooden boards hung on the wall. A couple of basic white tables are dotted inside and out the front of the shop, surrounded by stocky wooden stools. It's not a dine-in experience, but they're providing you with the option if you want it. We came on a Sunday at 1:00P and only had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Most tables are on the covered outdoor patio with just a few others inside the open air setting. We started off with a raw plate to share, followed by individual entrées. + SALMON CEVICHE (A$28): Thin slices of salmon in a bright zesty citrus soy dressing, with dollops of avocado cream and lime aioli. The salmon was so smooth, buttery and super fresh. I rarely eat ceviche since I usually don't care for citrus flavors, but I enjoyed this since the salmon remained the star of the plate. + DAINTREE BARRAMUNDI FILLET GRILLED (A$38): A perfectly sized fillet was delicate, moist and didn't have any bones! The skin was grilled and crisp like a chip. Normally, I'm not a fan of skin on fish, but this was impeccable. A few cauliflower florets in a flavorful chermoula added a bold punch. I also loved the salted barra croquette, a fritter of potato and barramundi, which was fried to a golden brown and light inside. All of this was on top of a fresh mint yogurt which rounded out this very cohesive dish. Others in my group enjoyed the swordfish fillet and the fish of the day, which was a mahi mahi.
