Decided to try Kor Korean Street Food. It's across the street from Freestone Produce. We dropped in on a Sunday for lunch. Kpop is playing on the TV's. Service was good and several water jugs were brought to the table. - Banchan - kimchi, sliced potato, mung bean sprouts, daikon, fish cake, hot dog and pickled onion. Nothing memorable. - Soon doo boo jjigae (#63) ($15.50) - soft tofu stew was the blandest I've had. No depth or complexity. - Gahm jah tang (#65) ($16.50) - pork bone stew was also bland and disappointing. - Bulgogi bibimbop (#25) ($16.00) - rice didn't get crispy. Decent enough but standard fare. - LA galbi (#54) ($26.50) - several pieces were quite fatty. Okay but have had better. Kor wouldn't be on my return list. read more

My family doesn't go out to eat Korean food a lot so I was excited to find a place nearby for lunch. We shared the bulgogi, chicken fried rice, and fried chicken. The bulgogi was delicious, and not too sweet. It even comes with side dishes, which you can ask the staff to refill. Chicken fried rice tasted very buttery, not my favorite to be honest. The fried chicken was great! We got half and half since half the family likes spicy, the other half doesn't so it was perfect. The chicken was really juicy and there was a lot of meat. I opted for the Jjam bong, a spicy seafood noodle soup, and it was amazing! I devoured the entire bowl. Although, I was slightly disappointed by the limited seafood portion, as there were only two mussels and one clam. I expected a more generous serving of seafood. My group ordered the seafood pancake and tteokbokki for the table. While both were pretty good, the seafood pancakes stole the show. It had a crispy exterior and well-balanced filling. read more

I really enjoy my Korean food and the meal gets even better when they play kpop music videos in the restaurant. The space is large and as you enter the sell some snacks by the register. The Kor menu has your classics and even has lunch specials from 11am-2pm (aka their lunchboxes). It's a good value to try a couple items for under $15. Our group tried the pajeon, ttebokki, bibimbap, and a couple lunch combinations and we enjoyed all of them. The flavors weren't anything mind-blowing but Kor is a solid option when you are craving korean food. read more

We were really craving Korean after a week up in Banff. This place was pretty delicious! Had a bit of Somek as well and just enjoyed our last meal here before heading back to the States. The service was great and enjoyed to Ambiance! When we come back into Calgary, we'll definitely be stopping here! read more

We had a large group of 12 with no reservations and they accommodated us well. Service was quick and everything was piping hot when it hit our table. I ordered the lunch special #7 spicy beef bulgogi. It came with the beef, noodles, salad, and 3 small potstickers. This was delicious. Pro tip..... the spice level was pretty hot for me. If you are not a spice person order the non spicy version on the menu. When you first sit down they bring you plastic ice water carafes for everyone so keep it close it you can't handle the spice level. I would highly recommend this restaurant. They have a large menu plus lunch special menus as well so plenty to choose from for everyone. Very quick for lunchtime service. Nice large portions and I couldn't finish it all. Food quality and service was good. Everything was served in good time. My only complaint has to do with an annoying customer at another table but that wasn't their fault. I ordered the spicy seafood soup and chicken wing appetizer in the salt and pepper style. The soup was perfect the way it is. It's was exactly what I was looking for during a long layover at the airport. Hearty and spicy. My wings were super crunchy and the portions were just right for an appetizer (6 pieces). Maybe this was a little much when paired with the sides that they give you as part of the meal but I had a craving. Lol. This is a very casual restaurant that is family friendly. Been waiting for this place to open. Was planning to do curb side pickup, but ended up eating in. Had the Spicy Chicken Bi-Bim Bap & Garlic Soy wings. Super flavourful and good portion size. Server was super knowledgeable on the menu and made great recommendations. Will definitely be going back to try some new stuff. We went here based on the stellar reviews. It was super cool! The owner came out and explained the menu and the favorites to us. We ordered 3 dishes. The dumplings were delicious! Seemed like a very flavorful meatball on the inside. Also got the koren spicy chicken - was amazing spice flavor - with heat. So very good! You have to try it! Also, ordered a noodle/shrimp dish - I wouldn't get it again - but it came with 3 sides that were really cool (bean sprouts, spicy cabbage/banana leaves, and a potato salad). I've been desperately craving good Korean food lately, and needed a place to go in the NE that offered more than the typical hotpot. I had the Jjam Bbong (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup) ($16); which I've never tried before, so I had no idea what to expect. It was a lot less spicy than I was expecting, but I think the level of spice ended up being perfect. The flavor was also not as strong as I was expecting, and that was nice, because it wasn't overpowering. The portion was also a good size and price for a late lunch. Will definitely come back to try other things. The only thing I didn't like very much was the potato kimchi. read more
