I love the unique triangular-shaped corner the business is situated on, the wide selection of ice cream treats - and the reasonable prices! My wife and I ended up sharing an Extreme Reese's Sundae (see picture) and our neighbors went with the Peanut Parfait. Both of them were delicious, just the right size and only $5 each. If you find yourself northwest of the Des Moines metro or biking through Dallas Center on the bike path (right next to the building), you will definitely want to stop for a treat! Dallas Center doesn't have a ton of options for going out to get food. I've had plenty of people in the area, however, recommend Korner Kone to me, and I'd been eager to give it a try. I stopped by for lunch and ordered a number of sandwiches for some farmers working in the field and for myself. The workers were so polite and bagged those for me strategically, so I could easily pass off the food to those men. They made my life 10x easier that day! I love a good deli and these sandwiches were amazing! I went back the following day, too! Highly recommend any of their sandwiches. The interior, I also noted to be so clean. Sometimes little spots like this aren't always the cleanest- little things! I've been wanting to get back and try their ice cream next! read more

What is more perfect then a ride through the corn fields of Iowa to find this slice of traditional small town Americana? Do not let the name fool you not only do they serve scoops of ice cream, but their menu includes a list of tasty subs! As I sat and are my smoked brisket sub on fresh baked bread and smothered in a delicious in house BBQ sauce a kid sprung into the small shop. Like out of an old Andy Griffith show the boy dug deep into his pockets and pulled out close to 50 cents in pennies and grabbed some zots out of the decent sized candy selection that is available. Back to the sub it was delicious and fresh. I'll i could think about was this tag line "why eat fresh when you can eat fresher!" They had a list of other intriguing subs that I will be back and try. I want to try the sweet and spicy it featured a Lebanon bologna never heard of it. They also have lunch specials that I really wished would be available for dinner too! So why not a 5 star? I was hopping they were cranking out some delicious homemade ice cream or offered at least one flavor. I know kind of nitpicking, but their sub was so good I would think they could rock out in house ice cream. ;) Another great thing is the location of this place right off the Raccoon River Valley Trail. About 7 miles from Waukee trail head. I started at the 515 brewery in Des Moines which made for a nice long round trip ride. I encourage you to take your family and start from Waukee your kids will love the reward of the ice cream! The place also sits in the middle of the towns Main Street. If you want to have a little fun head over to the Longest yard across the street. This is a biker friendly place even supply's a place to easily fill up your water bottle! This place is great. I've driven by it dozens of times and thought finally it's time to stop. The service was amazing as my nephew changed his mind several times while ordering and they took it in stride. The food was fast and it was good. Where they really excel is the ice cream. Very disappointed. Stopped here Sunday during our bike ride. I ordered a chocolate malt. Flavor was ok. Not a lot of malt flavor. It came out with two cups which I thought was weird. By the time I got to the bottom, I was getting chunks of styrofoam with each bite. I pulled the top cup up and the entire bottom of the cup was shredded and fell out. Threw the rest away. My boyfriend ordered a salted nut roll blizzard. It was basically vanilla ice cream with chopped up nuts in it. read more

Korner Kone encompasses all that is good about Iowa: friendly people, tasty food, and biking [with their location right off the bike trail]. As my family found ourselves in Dallas Center around dinner time, we asked a local where we should eat, and she recommended Korner Kone. I have to admit that I was skeptical, but I was proven wrong by the delicious (and affordable!) sandwiches. My husband ordered a club sandwich combo, which includes a bag of chips and a can of soda for $7. I got the turkey bacon ranch sub, and we both enjoyed our sandwiches very much, and they were gigantic. We also split a cookie dough blizzard (I don't remember what they actually called it, but the blizzard type ice cream creation), which was bursting with lots of cookie dough - awesome. I also loved the restaurant itself with its walk up window and clean interior. It felt like all that's good about a small town with baskets of self-serve candy candy on the walls. The gals working were very nice and made recommendations for us. We will be back Korner Kone. read more

I've tried the bacon chicken sandwich ($7 meal), the lemon bar ice cream, and a blue raspberry freezie here-- all affordable and delicious! The girls who run the shop are all very kind and always accommodating and quick. It's a local favorite! I highly suggest coming for a cheap, tasty lunch and some LEMON BAR ICE CREAM ! YUM! read more

My family loves the ice cream here. This place does not skimp on toppings. My favorite is the Snickerdoodle shake. I don't know why I haven't seen this anywhere else before. It is AWESOME!!! My kids love the freeze's. Service has always been quick and friendly; however, I have heard that sometimes there can be a wait on really nice days when the Raccoon River Valley bike trail that runs past it is busy.
