I began having symptoms of low ojas (immunity) the first night, but those symptoms were ignored and treatment continued. I wasn't taken seriously, as the practitioners invested most of their time and energy in the other patient who was receiving treatment at that time. I felt very off by the end of pancha karma, and when doing our post-treatment intake, my practitioner would challenge, question me, and try to get me to change my answers whenever a symptom hadn't improved like she expected it to. I ended up developing severe fatigue, mood swings, exhaustion, weakened immune system, weight gain, chronic sore throats, etc. Some of these symptoms took over a year to subside, and I still have some of them to this day. When I contacted Dr. Halpern a little over a month after getting PK, at first he said these symptoms were not normal, but then after talking to my practitioner, denied that there was any problem and stood by her decision to pressure me into these treatments, and said that if I'm still having any issues that I can get more extremely expensive rejuvenation treatments at the college.
