We kayaked in Cold Spring Harbor just behind the lab and had an awesome time. It was so relaxing and quiet as we glided across the water. Joe led us in the front and Connor picked up the rear so we always felt safe and in good hands. Since this was our first time, we opted for a 1hour lesson/tour and Joe told us that most of his customers, at the end of the tour, say they wanted more time. We all felt the same way and can't wait to go back. If you're thinking about kayaking... go for it and definitely do it with JK Kayak & SUP. You won't be disappointed. She explained everything to us. She told us where to go and how to stay safe. The man who got us on the boards was equally as nice. He gave us a quick course on how to use the boards. The boards were much easy than I thought. I felt secure and got the hang of it pretty quickly. We paddled to an amazing area with a waterfall and past some beautiful houses and shoreline. Instead of pushing us for an option to spend more money, he provided great advice that was right for our group. We had a great time, and it was beautiful, but 1 hour was definitely enough. The pricing is set per person. One suggestion would be to price differently for single versus double kayaks, which many places do (with a discount for double kayaks).

Now years later my wife and I joined the newly renovated pool with all new lounge chairs, locker and rest rooms and a new kiddie pool with a slide. It is a huge improvement. It was ok before and now it is so much better. We came here quite a bit this year and really enjoyed it. There is no food allowed by the pool area but they have a snack stand with tables and benches where you can either purchase food or bring your own. We had a very nice time this season and will join again next. They also have other amenities at the park such as tennis and a meeting room.

Afternoon/evening session is 2:30-6:00. Currently 3:19 and enjoying a little lazing by the pool with a minimal crowd.

There are games (large human sized chess game) and noodles for pool use (that must be checked out at front desk). There is a snack bar in the pool area that has chips, soda, ice cream, stuff like that no real food. Next to the pool is an ice skating rink (during winter) and during the summer there are games going on on the rink like basketball and ping pong. Both the pool and rink have bathrooms and locker rooms. Great place!

Jm and his staff were very encouraging, patient, and informative during my paddle boarding experience. Not only did they show support and love for the water, but helped me develop such a knack for it and provided me with support. Amazing company! JM and his staff are all supportive and encouraging, which provides an atmosphere that is essential as you learn and gain your confidence on your board. I've been to both the Island Park and Manhasset locations, both unique. I've brought family and friends on multiple occasions for lessons and events. Everyone of us had a phenomenal time! I was looking to get out of Manhattan and enjoy a beautiful summer day out on the water. There is nothing in the world more free than SUP, so without any hesitation I looked up what was out there and found a perfect location. Port Washington was the spot and Kostal Paddle was the rental. My daughter has been going to the SUP and Science camp at Kostal paddle every summer since she is little. She has learned how to paddle board and kayak but most of all she has had so much fun. They also help to clean up the beaches and learn how important it is to keep the beaches and water clean. We have also rented paddle boards and kayaks for the family. I saw a social media posting for a guided tour of the Connetquot charging a small fee for dropping in your own vessel. They run this tour weekend days. Until November. There was a group of about 17, some with their own kayaks or SUPs, others rented from the business. Rob provided great direction, was informative , and a genial host. Lisa and I probably had time during the 2 hours to have small conversations with everyone in the group. The canals and river were so easy to navigate, scenic, tranquil, even with some light powerboat traffic. Not an abundance of wildlife but we had a great close encounter with a great blue heron. We are probably comfortable doing this without guidance now, but might choose to join up again for the group experience! Check it out while the weather is fine and the waters are warm! P.S. - I fell out of the boat before we even launched. Looked the fool in front of all but that just started the day off with laughter.

My family and I took the 4th of July Fireworks Captree Cruise to Jones Beach Fireworks Show ($65)…read moreon The Island Princess (IP). We purchased our tickets through the website: https://www.islandprincesscaptree.com. The IP is located inside New York's Captree State Park. We put "Island Princess Captree" into Google Maps and it led us straight there. Parking was $8.00 and the parking lot is a good size. The tickets indicated to please arrive at the dock by 6:00pm the latest for check-in and boarding. It was easy to locate the IP and we checked in with a staff member at the bottom of the stairs. The boat left the dock exactly at 6:30pm. About 8:00pm, we anchored and watched the sunset. Till the Grucci Fireworks Show started about 9:30pm, we were able to see fireworks in the distance in all the different towns. The boat tuned into WALK 97.5 FM which simulcasted music during the fireworks presentation. There were music by BTS, Rosé, Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA," and Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA." The Grucci Fireworks Show lasted till about 10:00pm and then the boat headed back to Captree State Park. So many people fell asleep on the way back. Free coffee and other snacks were available for purchase on the boat. My family and I enjoyed the 4th of July Fireworks Captree Cruise to Jones Beach Fireworks Show on the IP. We felt that the other fireworks shows went longer than the Grucci Fireworks Show, but it was still magnificent. It was an event that I've never participated in for the 4th of July, so it was definitely very nice and weather couldn't have been even more perfect. I had a light sweater on when it got a little chilly.

Wakeboarding, wake-surfing and tubing in the Long Island Sound is something everyone should experience no matter what experience you have with water sports. The crew is amazing and if you are a beginner they teach you everything you need to know. They are super welcoming and will make sure that you have the time of your life! All you gotta do is relax and have a great time I HIGHLY recommend booking with them, I went with my family who is from the south shore and it was the highlight of our summer.
