My friends and I came here today for the first time. We called ahead to clarify some information, such as reservations and pricing, and Michelle was beyond accommodating. She reserved our kayaks for us, and when we arrived we were greeted by a whole family of friendly people who were so down to earth and cool! We got 2 double kayaks and 1 single. The single kayak is $20 per person an hour and the double is $35 per hour, split amongst two people if that's how you'd be dividing it up. I've never really kayaked before...but luckily my kayak partner was somewhat familiar with how to rotate and steer the kayaks. And if you have not a clue how to do it, they will instruct you on how to before you go out in the water. Anyhow, parking is widely available, and they provide you with a life vest and a waterproof Baggie thing (don't know how else to explain it) to put phones, etc. in so our belongings didn't get wet. I would highly recommend this place to those who enjoy a bit of exercising, enjoy the beautiful bay and enjoy nice business owners! Lastly---when you go out into the water out of the canal area, they have not only moving boats and jet skis, but they have stationed boats that are just anchored down in the water for scenery purposes! Excellent time today and fun to go with a group of friends or even with just one other person!

Very friendly place. Good equipment. Nice and cheap. The owner, Tim, and employee, Jon, was very informative on places to fish. 5 out of 5 would go back again. They have season passes!

Everything was great. The service was nice. They were helpful and informative. It was our first time, for my two friends and I. We did canoeing and it was awesome. The water was a little deep as we got further down and I got seasick. But it was cause so many other boats were around us causing turbulence in the water. It was fun though and worth it for $30 for one hour, and not overpriced.

SUP was so much fun! !

The owner of this bike shop is a disgusting piece of a human being--a vile excuse for a business owner. He is deceitful, unprofessional, and completely lacking in integrity. Over the phone, he quoted one price for assembling a bike, but when I arrived to pick up my bike, he suddenly demanded more--an obvious bait-and-switch tactic. He and his inexperienced teenage staff also attempted to withhold or swap out parts that rightfully belonged to me, simply because the bike wasn't purchased from his store. He even had the audacity to think I wouldn't notice the difference--trying to pass off cheap, generic parts in place of the originals. When I confronted him and said I would call the police for stealing my parts, he exploded in anger, yelling at me and calling me "cheap" and "crazy" in a hostile, unhinged manner. I paid this man for a service he and his employees failed to perform correctly, and instead of owning up to his dishonesty, he doubled down with disrespect and aggression. His behavior is disgraceful, unethical, and absolutely unacceptable. Avoid at all cost!!!!

I ended up going home and researching other bike shops. Lo and behold - Bicycle Planet. I called them on the phone and they were able to tell me the inventory they had. They also answered a few questions I had about a kids bikes (this was a present for our son's birthday). I decided to take a little excursion to Syosset to check it out in person. When I got to Bicycle Planet, a guy named Diego helped me. He went over their different options and brands. The orange and blue Specialized I was looking at at the original bike shop was $80 cheaper here. All of their bikes were competitively priced. I picked out the Giant brand bike for my son because red is his favorite color. It is a beautiful and well-made bike. They were able to add on the training wheels for me since our guy is just learning how to ride, but he's getting the hang of it pretty quick. And of course - what bike would be complete without a silver bell? Once I had selected the bike, someone in the tech/assembly department spent a good 20 minutes or so inspecting the bike and ensuring its safety and that everything was in good working order. Diego brought it to my car and helped me get it into the trunk of my car - would definitely love a bike rack in the future especially for when we ride as a family because I think we all want new bikes now! Plus, Diego said that the bike purchase comes with a year of free tune-ups which is pretty sweet. The look on my son's face when we surprised him with this bole was just epic. And the service here at Bicycle Planet is top-notch. If you're looking for a new set of wheels, this is the place to go.
