Ambiance and vibe was excellent...hanging ornaments, green pine and honeycomb, and lights solidified that it's a Christmas! Very happy that Koto is near my home in Carolina Lakes as there aren't too many choices when it comes to Asian Cuisine however, out of the three places in proximity, this is the best. There is seating inside for approximately 32-36 people; very clean; and the employees are excellent and helped me with my order (explained what was in each dish and even turned me on to a new beverage, Milk Tea...yum!! The only thing that didn't resonate, hence the 4-star rating, is because I chose to dine in vs take out. The food came to me in plastic containers, soup in styrofoam, and plastic wear vs ceramics, glass, and sterling silver. Aside from an indoor picnic utensil theme, the food was awesome and in huge portions! I paid $20 for a Bento box; consumed 50% in the restaurant, minus the eight mini California Sushi Roll that came with the meal; ate the sushi roll for lunch the next day and then heated up and ate the other 50% of the main course a couple days later for dinner so, what a bargain!! New place with grand opening. Got the tuna poke bowl and the bento box teriyaki chicken. Food was pretty good 4 Service is you order your food at the register. They do bring your food over to you. She was nice enough to bring a bag over for leftover food to take home. The inside feels like a cozy restaurant. But then you order cafeteria style. They also serve the food in take out containers as you see in the picture. I think they would do a lot better if they had servers like a restaurant and served food on plates with actual silverware. I can't speak on the cooked food here but we had the crab rangoons, kani salad, shrimp tempura roll, sweet potato roll, spicy tuna, salmon roll, and spider roll. The raw fish was lukewarm which definitely put my husband off. The shrimp tempura was fine but everything else was not really worth finishing which was unfortunate due to it not being an inexpensive place. read more

So the food is good for this area and the sushi is great but be prepared to wait for your food. Price is same as sit down hibachi which this place is not. I suggest calling in as the wait is long. Also, you cannot choose how you want your steak cooked so it comes out as jerky. Be prepared for that. Also, the lady who works the counter 100% does not want to be there. read more

I've came to this location on four separate occasions and it seems to give off a different experience each time but two thing remains the same - the girl who runs the register makes it seem like you're a bother when you walk in - very unfriendly and not welcoming at all. Seems to smile more at her phone screen than an actual customer. The other is they will NEVER answer the phone! It could be 1:00 in the afternoon or 6:00 in the evening- they won't answer the phone which is a huge inconvenience for those of us who don't want to add a card to their online storefront door dash service or wait. I get the same thing every single time - the golden dragon roll which includes a piece of mango on each roll - today not only was the mango not sweet at all but it was super hard -almost green.
