We love Kozy's. It was our date night place. I hope they reopen. Great staff, chef's, servers.

My husband, mother in law and I decided to try Kozy's for my birthday dinner. The recommendation came from a neighbor at the campground we have a place at. I'm so glad we went. We ordered a 17-inch, thin crust pizza with sausage, mushrooms, and onions. We were in heaven!!! The pizza was so good, and we even took home leftovers for the next day. The restaurant isn't fancy with rows of tables, and you need to pay in cash, which we luckily had (there is an ATM inside). We aren't fancy people, so a nice, laid-back casual atmosphere was perfect. Plan on coming back with our adult kids when we are back at our place for the Dells wine walk in October. My new favorite place for pizza! Lastly, the prices were so reasonable. My mother in law, who paid for the meal, called me a cheap date, lol! read more

If you're looking for an inexpensive dining night out and the best ,and I do mean the best pizza in the area around the Dells, look no further. This is it!! The dining room is nothing to write home about but is clean and large(if you have a big group).Plastic picnic tables are pretty basic,but the money they save on it definitely goes into the pizza! They have a large variety of crust choices(thin is the best, I think!) and toppings and sizes.They even have one the size of a big manhole cover for those large groups all the way down to the smaller usual sizes.Their menu was pretty large,with many other choices, but we were there for the pizza, and it was one of the best I've ever had, seriously!!! Skip the high-priced places in and around the Dells and make the 20-25 minute trip here (Yes, in the middle of nowhere by Castle Rock Lake) ,you can thank me later.This will be our go to for pizza in the Dells from now on... read more

We are new to the area and wanted a good take out pizza. This place nailed it. The pizzas are huge. We went with the 17" for our family of 4 and had plenty of leftovers. They have a "family size" even bigger if you're feeding a crowd. They are heavy on the cheese, which we liked and used really good sausage too. I'd pass on ordering the garlic bread again but the pizza was great. The place is nothing fancy. If you were eating in, it looked pretty small, but probably great in summer when you can sit outside. For take out they have a drive through window which was convenient in the snow. Do note, they only take cash. We'll be back! read more

Pizza was good. Quite a wait when it wasn't even busy on a Sat night after 10pm. Hubby & me out on a Date Night. A couple with two kids very disruptive. Kids playing loudly on the machine games...no consideration to quiet down. Then parents arguing about " what to do next". Bad language the whole 9 yards. Kids were uncomfortable with the arguing, they should be home in bed! It was disruptive and loud and even people roaming around the kitchen and being loud...Pizza good but our nice evening was kinda a mess. TAKE IT OUTSIDE PEOPLE! I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be good and it used to be consistent. When orders are repeatedly wrong. You take your business elsewhere. It's sad too because it was good . I don't feel like the quality of the food is there anymore. read more

Update to previous post and update. They do not take cards there. I don't remember that from the other visits here so perhaps it's a new policy. To bad, most folks don't carry cash these days. Perhaps add .50 to a pizza and take cards....just sayin'!! read more

Kozy's is the perfect place for those of you vacationing in the Castle Rock Lake area and looking for a family friendly lunch or dinner option. Their pizza is a thin crust (but very doughy) but they are very generous with toppings which helps balance out the experience. read more

After not being able to get a table at the Dirty Turtle, we came here to try to get some dinner and drinks. There was a group of about 14 of us so we ordered two of their family sized pizzas. The other table of girls ordered cheese curds and apparently we really missed out by not ordering those (heard about it all weekend!), so just based on that, I would recommend you try them! We are all Chicago pizza snobs and had to admit that this stuff was pretty darn good! Our pizza was split to have half cheese, a quarter pepperoni and a quarter pineapple. The pieces with toppings had a lot of melty cheese and good amounts of toppings. The cheese pizzas highlighted the sauce flavor, which I found to be just a bit too acidic for my liking. Overall though, it was really good. We also ordered pitchers of beer, and the prices weren't bad. Service was decent, my only real qualm was the timing of the pizza arrivals. I get that we ordered two of the largest available sizes, but our pizza came about the same time that our other table was done eating. It really felt like a long time in between! I'd stop in again if in the area... I think I definitely need to return for some cheese curds, at a minimum! read more

Nobody should go to Castle Rock Lake without a visit to Kozy's. It's simply an icon of the area!! I wouldn't say it's the best pizza in the world, but it's good and is near the lake and is simply part of Castle Rock. I've been going there since the mid-80's. With my Parents living down the road since not long after that it's always one of the first stops when we visit. My own kids also insist a trip to Kozy's not be missed. It's a tradition I'm not allowed to break :) When the previous owner passed away we were worried about what would happen to the place, but the Grand-daughter "Cynthia?" took over the reigns and it's just as good as ever!!!! I do wish there was more seating besides the picnic tables, but they get packed and at least it allows for more people. The pizza does suffer on extremely busy weekends though. I wouldn't go there on a 4th of July weekend. Huge wait, and the pizza doesn't stand up to even their own usual pizza. I also prefer a thin crust. Not too long ago it appeared on the menu and when mentioning how happy I was I discovered they ALWAYS had it as an option but it wasn't on the menu! Can't get thin for the family size though, too big to move it if it was thin, lol. Great family place, little arcade area for the kids, and should be a stop for anyone camping or visiting the area! Now that I have moved even further away I may never see Kozy's again, but it will hold many memories far beyond just a pizza! read more

As a new resident of, the Dells, I am constantly on the ,"look-out," for Pizza joints, and Chinese "take-places." I read very positive reviews, on Kozy Pizza, so...we decided to give it a try. First, and foremost, the Pizza we picked up...was just delicious. Also...this is a full-service, upscale restaurant. The reason for my 3 star review, is simple! The directions, to find their location...is almost demonic. The directions state, they were 13 miles away. Following their directions, on Mapquest, was, was nonsensical. After asking directions from 3 locals, and a call to the restaurant...we finally arrived, after driving 23 miles. Driving 46 miles, roundtrip for a pizza, no matter how tasty, just doesn't work, for me. As far as assessing the menu, and service...I can offer you nothing. Of course, we will never be returning. Not because of a problem with the food...BUT because of their confusing, and non-understandable directions. 46 miles, to get a pizza??? Get real...Glen B read more

My husband's truckdriver friends have been recommending Kozy's Pizza for years. Finally we took a road trip in our personal vehicle and added Kozy's as a stop on our way to our destination. Kozy's has been a family tradition since my parents got engaged back in 1977 and went there to celebrate after. Never in all our years going to Kozy's have we had bad food or service; wait staff always go above and beyond. Now that we are all older we like to sit in the bar area while waiting for our pizza to watch the kitchen and enjoy one of their wonderful drink specials. You can tell Kozy's means a lot to the family that runs and operates it on a daily basis; the pride that they have for their establishment shows. Recommend to anyone and everyone who is in the area to go and enjoy a pizza at Kozy's - you won't go away hungry! PS - not that Kozy's could get any better but cold pizza the next day from there is almost better than fresh out of the oven!!! read more

Service was nice and the place was cute. The meatlovers pizza was descent but the chicken alfredo was not good.

I've heard good things about this place, so I was excited to go there for the first time. My Boy Scout troop eats there in the middle of a weeklong stay at Ed Bryant Scout Reservation, which is just down the road. After three days of lousy camp food, I was stoked to eat some real food. And it was pretty good. Not the best pizza ever, but it sure isn't bad by any standards, and we ordered two large pizzas for our troop of around twenty, which was plenty. For reference: I think a small is around 14 inches, a medium around 20, a large at about 24-28, and the "family size" was something like 36 inches. But you know what the high point was? The arcade. I kid you not, they had some great games there, one of which (Dirty Drivin') was an old favorite of my friend and mine. We stared at that game from across the room for a solid five minutes, snickering under our breath as amateurs tried their hand at it. I won't elaborate any further, however. I also saw a bar on the way in and the way out that looked nice, but for obvious reasons we weren't allowed in (dang! :) Great place to stop for a bite! read more

We were staying at Castle Rock County Park (literally 2 miles down the road) for a softball tournament. A family on our team is originally from Mauston and talked about how great Kozy's pizza was and every time they're in the area, they order pizza + buy some frozen ones to take home. Based on that rave review from someone we know, we decided to order it with the friends we were camping with (another family from our softball team) and boy are we glad.....it is amazing!! They do not deliver or take credit card which were bummers but the place is SUPER clean. When you walk in to the right is a nice bar area with pub tables and a fireplace. To the left is a HUGE sitting area with tons of picnic tables that we were told have been like that for ages (kinda cute). We went into the bar area to pick up our pizzas and we loved that you could see full view of the kitchen through a nice opening and even the kitchen was spotless. The bartender who we were picking up the pizzas from said they are going to start distributing their pizzas to stores throughout WI and northern IL (which is good because we live 2.5 hrs south on the IL/WI border).
