We split a club sandwich which was more than big enough. All ingredients were fresh. I loved the fresh bacon. Yum! I had a fun time perusing the items around the store for purchase. So many local options. As we still had a few hours to go on our journey, I skipped the cheese (although it looked amazing) and chose some 'travel' beef sticks. So good. Lots of tables for seating. I was disappointed that they wouldn't fill my water bottle with tap water but I enjoyed the bottled lemonade as a replacement. Good experience. read more

That was a pleasant little stop! We are going to bookmark this for future visits! We ordered the pastrami rye and my husband ordered the Italian beef with hot G ( gardineria) both were delicious. We drove past the "DELI/CHEESE" sign several times and didn't think to stop until I saw a billboard stating that they have fresh sandwiches. Stopped on a whim on our way through town from Michigan to Minnesota after being tired of all of the standard drive thru fast food joints. Reviews don't lie. What a refreshing stop!!! Everything was delicious and service was just what you'd imagine in a "log cabin" in small town WI. Probably the biggest green flag is the local state troopers were by earlier. I had the chicken salad, my husband had the Italian beef, kids had grilled cheese and BLT. Everything was made from scratch and portions were generous. Outstanding, grocery store prices at a side of the road, touristy cheese shack! Incredible variety, everything from plain old cheese to wild variations with fruits like apples and blueberries, to spices like cinnamon and habanero in them. Cashier was pleasant and helpful, the perfect blend of leaving me alone to think and jumping in and helping out immediately when requested. We drove for hours and wanted a semi "healthy" place to stop for a quick bite to eat. Log cabin cheese and deli was a great place that didn't sell your typical greasy fries and burgers. It had plenty of hot/cold deli sandwiches and a nice selection of homemade soups! Also, pizza is available as well if you're not into sandwiches. We ordered a combo to share for $6 (I really just wanted a cup of soup) and he wanted a half sandwich. The chicken salad sandwich looked fresh and the butternut squash soup was delicious! :) They sell random condiments, frozen sausages, and blocks of Wisconsin cheese. When we went in mid September, they had a local farmers stand right outside the restaurant selling local produce. read more

Shhhhh, keep this place under wraps! Drive past the chain fast food joints and gas stations packed with the masses and slip into front row parking at the Log Cabin. Our first thought was what's wrong with this place? We came here because we didn't want gas station food and didn't have time to do a sit down restaurant. The only answer we have come up with is nothing- other then very few people know what a gem this place is! That was several years ago and now we try to coordinate trips on I94 for when they are open. Great homemade soups, chili, salads and sandwiches / wraps. Made a run this weekend to visit family in MN and stopped twice, able to pick up dinner on way home. You can dine in or grab a sandwich to go. In the summer there is a farmer's produce stand in the back parking lot so can grab some fresh veggies too! read more

My husband and I have grabbed lunch here a few times over the last two months. Other than the white bread being a bit tough on the first sandwich, I've got no complaints. First time I tried the Turkey and cranberry and it was ok. But the soup was the winner that day. It was a poblano chicken cheese concoction and after finishing it, I wanted more! I got an Italian the second time and this last time I got the club. While waiting for my sandwich order, to be filled...I noticed that they also made pizza, for both eating in, and to take home, to cook. We bought one to take home. The next day we cooked it in our own oven. WOW!!! It was sensational. Plenty of cheese plus a crunchy crust...I was flabbergasted. For a non-pizza joint, their product was better than anything else I have sampled at any pizzeria here in the Dell's. We have picked up a pizza, once a week, for over a month. I have waited till now to write my review because I have a fairly large following. I hesitate to give 5 stars, until I am certain that a restaurant has earned those stars, after many visits! Great find on Yelp. A coworker and I were in town for work. We went there for lunch. The inside opens up nicely and it is bigger than it looks from the outside. Inside there are cool looking pine tables. The menu gives you a lot of options. Soup, salad, sandwiches, pizza, etc. There are also lots of meats and cheeses you can buy to take home. We both got the corned beef brisket sandwich (special for the day). It came on a really soft, fresh French bread. The meat was tender and flavorful. The sandwich was delicious. Lots of other stuff on the menu looked good as well. I'll have to make it back for another visit! read more

Wow. Just wow. The perfect pit stop for our yearly trek from Milwaukee to Western WI. When every other roadside restaurant seems to be flipping greasy burgers (which dear lord I love) this is a great lighter alternative. Soup of the day was chicken noodle soup and had homemade noodles. 1/2 sandwiches (which are more than enough size-wise) are on crispy/chewy deli-style bread. And my personal favorite, the staff was extremely friendly. Oh, and music was provided by a boom box in the corner. Didn't get any deli cheeses or meats or sauces, but if the food we stuffed into our bellies were any indicator, I bet they are pretty dang neat too. read more

Drive past Subway and head in into this local deli where service is friendly and fast and the sandwiches taste a million times better. Plus the place is like a log cabin inside with pine tables and chairs. Sure beats the boring plastic benches at the chain sandwich places. You want chips and cookies--they got those---but you can also order Potato salad, cole slaw, pasta salad, and more. Oh, and they throw in a delicious dill pickle spear to boot. Chains can't do that for you!! This place also sells cheeses, meats, honey, and sauces if you want to take something home. We stopped and enjoyed a cold deli sandwich that had wonderful chewy 7 grain hoagie and a hot Italian beef sandwich with au jus. Both sandwiches were homemade and the atmosphere was very cozy. Staff was excellent and extremely accommodating. They also have Lanjaeger in duos or packages, Usinger sausage, fresh cheeses, Amish handmade fresh chocolates and unpasteurized fresh honey. The honey comes from a man who started his business when he was 11 thanks to his grandfather and dad and the following year was awarded for his work with bees. A very interesting place and a real Midwest experience! We will definitely be back! read more
