Joanne and Pauline are two of the most Nicest, Dependable, and Hard Working people I know! This duo will take on ANY task and get things DONE with very little interaction from your already stressful Wedding Planning! They are like Santa's little helpers which gets the toys DONE while Santa works on his List! I had a Wedding on June 1st and was in desperate need of a Dessert Table decorator! I had a week left before the special day and was even considering NOT having the Dessert Table! As a last hope, I searched Yelp and stumbled upon Venus N. and decided to give them a shot. I used the online quote and got a hold of Joanne. Within minutes we exchanged numbers and from that moment on. It was like Magic!!! Joanne quickly conference me in with Pauline and we three had a conference call detailing the Colors, Theme and my Favorite Desserts! I swear these two are the nicest people I know! If the World had more people like Joanne and Pauline there would NEVER be any wars!!! After the call, Joanne stated that in a couple of days they will provide me a mock-up Design. Two days later (exactly as they estimated) I received my Design! I was really pleased with the mock-up and approved it faster than a Yelper can click the "Funny" Button below! These two Angels LISTENED to ALL my recommendations and incorporate everything I had asked for. I wanted a Wonka Theme, Chocolates, Gummies, Cakes ooo my!!! Once approved, that is where the stressed was completely GONE! The Angels have lifted the heavy log from my shoulders!!! Only a few days before the big day and I left all the planning operations to Joanne! I did NOT need to constantly reach out to her and remind her about ANYTHING! At this moment I can trust her with the keys to my BTC Stash! Fast forward to June 1st! The BIG DAY!!! I arrived at the Venue at 5:30 pm. It was such a Chaotic Day and everything was going at 100mph! My Guest was arriving, my Bartender was lost, I was getting calls left and right and throughout this entire ordeal was the light of hope! My Dessert Table was Completed!!! (Photo Attached, more to come once I get them from my Professional Photographer) I met Pauline and Joanne for the very first time and as I expected they are truly Angels and the nicest people I know!!! The Dessert Table was exactly represented from the mock-up down to the little picture frame! There was so much Candy the tooth-fairy would make a fortune that night! It would also make the late Gene Wilder Proud! I knew at that moment even with all the Chaos occurring all around me that my guest will at least enjoy some nice sweets before the event! So to ALL future Wedding Couples Yelpers! If you are planning a Wedding in the near future, my advice is to take a deep breath and just RELAX! I actually came here with my best friend recently. Let me preface by saying that we were desperate to look around for wedding dresses for me since it was getting late that date and we were turned down by a national wedding dress store chain due to not having an appointment - a review for that later. Anyway, I yelped it and was expecting splendid service since there were such good reviews. However unfortunately we were sorely disappointed. I needed to write this review to inform others and let you guys know how I felt coming here. It'll save you the hassle, I promise! OK so what happened was we walked in and the older woman was pretty friendly but for some reason her and the middle aged lady (Sylvia) always got into fighting matches. For example the older lady (probably her mother in law) kept giving me smaller sizes of wedding dresses to try on and said that I was a good size, and even picked out some pretty ones (tube style which is what I liked). However, the other lady, Sylvia, had the audacity to tell me that I was FAT and was so super rude. (Just because I told her I wouldn't fit those small dresses, that I was a size medium - TRUST Me i know what size I am). Anyway, moving on -- that Sylvia lady grabbed the small ones away from me (that the older lady gave) and proceeded to hand me the LARGEST wedding dress in the store. Is she blind? I'm not fat. I'm actually pretty tall and quite medium sized. I am totally fine with my body structure. Anyway, so we head to the so called "dressing room" and I wore that extremely HIDEOUS dress and it slid off of me like slime. It was hilarious. My best friend was so appalled. She then gave me another dress, and the same outcome. I don't know how I was so patient with her? Anyway we proceeded to leave and then they advertised their $99 specials. Disgusting!!!! I don't think I've seen such ugly dresses since reading a history book. If you like 1800 styles, come here I'm forreal! Anyway as we were walking out, Chuck (the guy) stops us and asks me about photography. He then tried to market himself to do photography at my wedding. He asked me my date, I told him the ball park. He then quoted the price of $1888 which includes the book. He also told me how amazing Sylvia was at make up. (I was thinking...oh that lady who was super rude to me???) No thanks. I have seen other places that are better. Thankfully the following week I went to a different wedding place (not too far from here) and had the most amazing experience!!! But I digress. What scam artists! Yuck! I will never come here again, it was such a horrendous experience.

Sylvia uses air brush foundation, which lasted all day, considering it was applied early in the morning (occasional touch up is required). The service includes a pre-wedding day facial to prep your skin. Of course, a balanced diet and plenty of beauty sleep are essential leading up to the big day. If you don't the look you want for your wedding day, Sylvia would compose the appropriate look. It's crucial that you communicate to her of any dress changes (typical custom for Chinese weddings) so that she would use the most complimentary palette. The price is reasonable and she can do the hair as well, depending on the size of the bridal party. There was a contracted stylist (same guy) that did my hair for all my visits. For my wedding, since I didn't have a veil, Sylvia brought miniature roses from her garden to adorn my hair. The personal touch meant a lot. Also, I'm 4'10", Sylvia gave me a style with height. :-D I highly recommend Sylvia for bridal makeup and hair style!

Seniman Calligraphy is Ruth, a talented LA based calligrapher, illustrator, and painter. Her work…read moreis immaculate, and though I never met her in person, her personality shined in our many emails. I contacted Ruth to do the address calligraphy for my wedding invitations. She sent me an organized list of calligraphy styles to choose from, with lots of photo examples, all her own work. Our stationary designer, Swell Press, sent the outer envelopes directly to Ruth, so all I had to do was provide her with a list of the names/addresses of our guests. This was easier said than done, and I probably sent her an updated list 4 times. She was super patient, and mailed me the finished envelopes in a couple weeks. They were thoughtfully packaged, with paper in between each one, so they wouldn't stick together. There were no errors or inconsistencies. We received many compliments on our invitations, and truly loved them. Thank you Ruth!

Not only did Sharen fully understand and support our goals, but she also really worked with us so we were creating a budget and amount of flowers that fit with what we were comfortable with. Since my fiance is a computer scientist and I'm a chemist working with semiconductors, we requested unique table signs with elemental symbols of Group III-V elements and other semiconductor elements. After some email exchanges, Lauren quickly designed the table signs (as requested). We weren't as particular with our other signs, so those contained floral decor reminiscent of our plum and ivory color scheme.
