We called Susie and described to her what we were looking for. She brought over a bunch of samples of her work and helped us design the perfect invitation. It was so classic and elegant! Not only did our invitations get delivered in a timely fashion and look so amazing, but Susie was so patient with both my husband and me while we decided on all the minor details of our design, such as the font, wording, and paper thickness. My wife and I had our wedding invitations done here and she was absolutely one of our most memorable and favorite vendors we worked with during our wedding planning. It was low stress and she was really able to understand our tastes and requirements. We found her to be patient, easy to work with, and she gave us multiple drafts timely and professionally and had no problem incorporating our ideas into her final concepts. The designs she came up with ended up setting the tone for our entire wedding. Ultimately, when the invitations went out, we had so much feedback about how excited people were about our wedding just based on the impact the invitations made we hoped it would live up to the hype! A little more detail specifically about the service she provided us; We wanted an invitation that respected traditional Chinese style, had elegance and a semi-traditional format, but also had a sleek bit of our own personality to it. It need to be bilingual and incorporate inserts for instructions, maps, return RSVP cards, etc, and of course fall within our tight budget. Virge seems to have tons of experience phrasing sentences elegantly and giving direction. The church where the ceremony occurred had complicated parking instructions, and we also needed to include maps to the banquet hall which was far away. Virge was able to fit everything in a simple, easy to understand format that was great for out of town guests and understandable even to both Chinese and English speaking, all while looking great. Her work ethic and attention to quality and detail truly stand out. Ultimately her invitations turned out impeccable, like beautiful works of art. We were impressed enough and since experience working with Virge was so smooth, we ended up using her for our wedding programs as well to keep the feel consistent. When we met with Jennifer, we appreciated how she took time to understand our vision, and even had some cardstock nearby to show us some options on Zoom. We ultimately hired her to create our Save the Dates and wedding invitations as she seemed personal and friendly. When I sent Jennifer inspiration for what we wanted our paper products to look like, she created an almost identical version of what we sent her. This could be perceived as a good thing as she created our vision, but at the same time I hired her so she could put her creative spin on it. Anyone can order invitations off of various websites, so I was surprised when she pretty much copied the inspiration almost exactly instead of making it her own while sticking to a theme. There were also a few times where it took several days for her to respond to emails. It would have been nice to receive an away message from her so I knew she would get back to us. Without an away message, working with her was stressful at times, especially with deadlines. One incident that rubbed me the wrong way was when I emailed Jennifer addresses for our Save the Dates, spoke with her on the phone about how to improve the etiquette (mainly the order of the names), and submitted the new list to print. Even after I spoke with her, the original list (before the edits) was printed. Luckily the addresses were correct, but I felt frustrated that the new list was not printed. I then realized that in the fine print the first list emailed is printed, so I take responsibility for not reading that closer. Regardless, it seemed strange to speak to me on the phone in the first place if the intention was never to print the updated list. Overall, I didn't completely trust that Jennifer would respond to my emails efficiently, and I therefore felt a bit on edge working with her, especially when it came to other paper products that had shorter and tighter deadlines. I think she means well, but I prefer to work with vendors that answer emails within 24 hours (excluding weekends/holidays) and put their creative spin on projects, especially since it costs more money to hire someone than do it yourself online. With all that said, I am grateful that Jennifer helped us stay within budget, and the paper products we received from her were of high quality. It's just too bad there was a rough journey to the destination.
