Everything is so fine tuned here, you really can't ask for a better experience. I did the chat option via the website and Cassie was very quick to respond and helpful in answering my questions. She was able to send me the online application to fill out before coming in. We arrived and Wes was able to immediately grab the keys. There was a Suburban we loved but he told us of another option that had a few more features, and we went to get that one! Bought a truck with this company, using the USAA car buying service. Great process, simple, good inventory and quick service. The lot is small and full of vehicles to choose from. When I showed up, I was greeted promptly and I already knew which vehicles I wanted to look at. There was no pressure in any of the process. Wanted to chime in on the service team at Krietz Auto. While this company got its start doing auto service, it's a great combination with the sales side of the business, with their offer of free oil changes for life when you purchase a vehicle at Krietz. The entire team of service advisors (Kevin, chuck, and Phil) are stand-up guys who do whatever is possible to make sure you are happy. I had a few minor issues with my wife's Sorento and they went over and above what most car dealerships wound do to make things right, and I never saw an invoice. There is a reason people come from all over the area to buy cars at Krietz Auto. They are all about customer service and it's very impressive for the auto industry! I would NOT get service here. I was told that I needed to get my two front breaks and rotors changed IMMEDIATELY. I was told that in its current state it wouldn't pass inspection and they would be dangerous to drive on. They wanted to charge me $800!!! That was a red flag so I passed and took it to another mechanic in the area (Milex) and thank God I did. I was told at Milex that I had at least two more oil changes before I needed a break change. Over the last 50 years I have purchased about a dozen vehicles from dealerships and private sellers, but my most recent experience with Krietz Auto was like no experience I have ever had before. From the first phone call to the dealership speaking with Seth Bussard, the Aftermarket Manager, until the day we dealt with Marissa Martz in the custom shop and then picked up the Jeep, it was the absolute best buying experience ever. Seth was 100% up front, transparent, and HONEST along every step of the way. You know how you get that feeling that sales reps are always trying to work an angle of some kind on you? Simply never happened with Seth and, in fact, it was actually the exact opposite. Here is what I mean by that comment: I asked if they had a military discount and Seth didn't put me on hold to go talk to "a manager", he didn't skip a beat, and made it happen right there on the phone. It was at this point we knew we were working with the team and the right dealership. But wait, it gets better. From a communications standpoint, I could not have asked for better feedback all along the process. In fact, the entire process was surrounded with timely and effective communication all along the way. We also dealt with Nate Stevens and Lisa Hilderbrand in finance and they did not skip a beat with complete professionalism and communication and made you feel like you were less of a customer and more of a friend of the dealership. Just when we thought that Krietz Auto couldn't make the experience any better, we were introduced to the custom side of the house and Marissa Martz. I literally gave her a list about 15 items long of things we wanted to get done to the Jeep from light bars to window tinting (and Krietz Auto literally took our Jeep round trip for us to have custom window tint put in that looks INSANE!). I was certain that there was no way that we would show back up to pick up the Jeep a few weeks later and that everything would be done...Marissa just CRUSHED IT! Every single item on the list was not just "completed", it was completed and looked perfect! Cables tie wrapped and installed super clean, no leftover cable clippings or tint laying around the inside of the Jeep, light bars looking awesome and she even recommended this switch panel for our Jeep to control the light bars which, looking back after a few months of driving the Jeep and using the light bars, could not have been a better recommendation. It looks incredibly clean and is so much more convenient than what would have been the alternative. Bottom line is that if you are looking to buy a Jeep (and they sell trucks too!) this is the team and the dealership you need to be dealing with...period. They are about an hour from where we live and it was 100% worth the drive and time and I am looking at getting a few other things done here in the near future and there is no question whatsoever that I will gladly make the trip to Frederick to have Krietz Auto do the work! Worst place I've ever visited to buy a car, or make any purchase for that matter!!!! Went here with every intention of buying a car that day, 4k cash in pocket, and planning on financing the rest. We looked at several cars and test drive 2. We went into the office to surah to a salesman and after 2 minutes he asked us to leave because they had a "cash sale that would only take 20 mins". So while we were kicked out of the office we decided to look at a few other models, when we asked to see a car listed on website and not on lot the girl helping us was great however the same sales man from before said "don't bring that car here from the other lot, they are not going to buy anything anyway". My wife and I were shocked! We did not show up in sweatpants and dirty clothes just price shopping, we were both professionally dressed with cash in hand to make a purchase. He didn't even be discreet about the comment. I asked to speak to the manager at that time, and ended up waiting another 15 minutes, but out of principal we stayed. After informing the manager of the interaction he agreed it was unacceptable and promised to call us in two days, as he was off the next day, to discuss a purchase. Needless to say we never got that call. This was by far the worst sales interaction I have ever received. On a side note... They do offer lifetime oil changes with a car purchase which is great, however in the hour we were waiting to be helped my wife and I overheard several different people stating every time they get an oil change there, they end up with a list of other repairs totalling hundreds to thousands. As a fairly regular Yelper, I rarely give 5 stars. It's reserved only for the very best of a category or area. Kreitz fits and deserves the 5-star rating. My wife was looking for a crossover SUV to replace the minivan we had for years. When I did a regional search on one of the aggregator used car sites based on pricing, mileage, body type and equipment, Kreitz came up. Priced below what a comparable retailer would sell for, they showed absolutely NO pressure to "buy today" or play any of the usual games. The financing rate they found from a local bank was perfect and we've got the care and payment we wanted...plus the comfort of knowing it's backed by a great service department! My husband purchased a truck yesterday at Krietz. We got lucky and had Bonnie help us. She was lovely!!! If Bonnie was all we were rating then it would be a 5 star experience but unfortunately two things didn't sit well with myself and my husband. First thing was a gentlemen at the front desk NEVER acknowledged us!!!! He had MANY opportunities to speak or even just smile at us but DID NOT!!!! Found ourselves in need of an "emergency" tire rotation while visiting family in Frederick. Krietz was recommended to us, so we checked it out (mind you this was on Memorial Day weekend.). Not only were we able to get an appointment, they had our van on the rack in less then 30 minutes from the time we called. The service was only $18 after tax and they also explained to us how we could minimize uneven tire wear. Not once were we asked for add-on service, which is the norm at so many auto repair shops. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! I went in for a suspension repair, tire replacement and some other odds and ends to pass inspection. I dropped the car off on September 10th and I'm just getting the car back today (November 26th). While taking one of the tires off they scratched one of the rims and while detailing it they took the coating off the other 3. Yes they replaced all 4 as they should since there was nothing wrong with the original ones until they touched them. The rims would take over a month to come in so the option provided by then was while waiting for the rims come pick up the car and pay us the full amount due ($1700). We will call you when the rims come in. So if the tables were turned and I owed them $1400 worth of product could I ask them for full payment and I'll call you later with what I owe you?? I think not! They would not flex at all so against our better judgment we left the car until the rims came in. So now that it's November and no real possibility of driving a summer car in the winter we will now have to wait until the warm weather returns. This is about the lack of customer service and the willingness to compensate us for the inconvenience! How they think ruining our rims and taking over 3 months to replace them is beyond me! I've never seen a business, let alone an auto repair shop, that has customer service like this place. Let's start with the waiting room--couches, kuerig machine, refrigerator with free sodas and water. Anyone who's ever had to wait at an auto repair shop for their car to be serviced knows how unusual that is. As far as the service, we rolled in their on a Saturday, as we broke down on our way to PA. They did everything they could to fix the car that day (cracked radiator) and when they realized they weren't going to be able to, they gave me a loaner for free to drive three hours to PA. The customer service here is unbelievable. Ultimately, the car was fixed by Monday and I found the price to be in line with what you'd expect to pay for those repairs. I had a pre-purchase inspection on a used Mazda Miata performed here, and was very pleased with the thoroughness of the work performed. Rather than the 20 minute once-over some places give you, Kreitz performed fluid inspections, looked for body damage and other evidence of previous accidents, checked the brake pads, and took extra time to explain their findings. I have not had any repairs done here, but I certainly recommend them for pre-purchase inspections. read more

Went over to test drive a Grand Cherokee. When I arrived they told me it was in the shop with a dead battery. My sales person was nice but didn't really know answers to my questions about the vehicle. I requested if they would be willing to lower the price and I was told they will not. I went there because they stated they were fair and would work with you. A flat no was not what I wanted to hear. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. I too like others was tired of the dealer hassle. Kreitz Auto had good reviews and they service/sell Jeeps. So, I decided to give them a try. My vehicle had 2 noises: brake screech and vibration. When I dropped my vehicle off, I rode with the mechanic so he could hear the issues. I was told my rotors and sway bar needed replaced. The cost was $1,500 for this work. When I picked up my vehicle the next day, the vibration was still there. Needless to say, my truck went back to them 4 times and I rode with 2 other mechanics. My vehicle was at their shop for 7 days. Both noises are still there. Now, I am being told the issue is something else and will cost another $1,100. read more

One of the reasons I decided to look at vehicles at Kreitz's was due to all of the positive reviews....sadly this was the worst experience I have ever had buying a car. Wednesday, I was contacted by Lisa about coming and test driving the vehicle I was interested in on Friday. Friday, I go to test drive the vehicle and Lisa was not there so Bonnie handed me the keys, told me I could start the vehicle and play with the gadgets but I was not offered the opportunity to test drive the vehicle. After handing me the keys, Bonnie walked away and never came back, leaving me standing in the lot feeling like a idiot walking around the car waiting for someone to talk to me about the vehicle. I told her I would bring my husband by on Saturday to test drive the vehicle. Saturday morning I emailed them to find out the status of my financing and was it okay to come over for a test drive. I was told the finance app was with the bank and they would know something between 12 and 2 to wait until they let me know it was okay to come over. Mind you, I still have not had any information about the vehicle and since they don't sign their emails with a name I have no idea who I was communicating. At 10:55 am I received an email stating that the vehicle I wanted had been sold. To date, not a single phone call or even a "we are sorry about how this whole deal was handled. I did receive an email telling me that they had plenty of other Escapes and just let them know when I wanted to test drive one of them. Really, how about you apologize and I'll think about it. Horrible, horrible experience and certainly a waste of a Saturday being held on the hook just in case the other deal fell through. read more

Saw a few vehicles i was very interested in just around Christmas. Reviewed the dealer had mixed emotions but was taking a chance. They seemed to have more positive then negative. But the negative reviews where very harsh which lead me to have different thoughts. So i test drove a few vehicles and seemed to really like one. It was holiday weekend and i wasnt pressed till after the Christmas week. I found a vehicle i like but had a few issues nothing too major. I askes for them to be handled and then contact me the next week. Well they emailed me wouldn't even call. And asked if i was still interested. I was but they failed to have the correct year and model of the vehicle i drove and was interested. I stated that in the return email. And no word from the saleman. Today i get a email asking how the service and care are towards buying a vehicle there. Well no return either. I have been in public service my whole life and even worked the car industry while in school. They are a small dealership with multi millions on their mind thats my opinion. Saleman was nice but didnt have that gusto to follow thru in my eyes. Wasn't thrilled on some of the office staff but im easy going and can overlook that. I bought a car from them about a week ago. The actual purchase experience was pleasant. I left the shop thinking that I would return for all future car purchases. There were a few things I was not thrilled with, particularly the $300 dealership fee, which they will not explain what it's for exactly, but it was something I could live with, so I let it slide.This dealership fee is outside of the standard tags & titles fees. We also split the cost of new tires for my vehicle since one of the tires had some dry rot, which I really appreciated. I traded in a older car with higher mileage and the check engine light on for $500, which I found acceptable, all things considered. But, after a business day they asked me to bring in the title, which is a reasonable request, but I could not find it. I took the car in on Monday, and let them know that I could not find it, but I could double check. They had me sign a form so that the MVA could release my title to them. There was no mention of a $20 fee. It was not until Tuesday that Amber called me to tell me that I would need to pay $20 to get the title. I told her I would double check. I went through all my paperwork and had my mom check at her house, but we could not find it. I was not able to get back to her until Saturday, due to being extra busy with end-of-year stuff at work. During this call, I notified Amber that I was not able to find the title, and she asked me what I wanted to do about the fee. My exact words were "I would prefer not to pay it, since I feel like you guys got enough of my money". At this point, she put me on hold, and unbeknownst to me transferred me to the "manager", I believe his name was Mike, but I am not sure. The reason I am not sure is because this man proceeded to yell at me, telling me I had to produce the title or the $20. I calmly told him how I felt about the dealership fee and asked for an itemized explanation of that fee. He told me that it was something that Maryland charges (which is not true, since the contract I signed stated that it was not legally required by Maryland, I had never had to pay a fee of that amount to any prior dealership, where I had purchased my other vehicles, and an online search reveals is something that dealership charge to cover various charges from advertising, to filing fees and so forth). This man continued to yell at me, repeating himself and kind of threateningly asked me why I was upset. At this point, I had to yell over him that I was not upset and had at no point refused to pay the fee, I had simply said that I preferred not to. This was an incredibly upsetting experience and I want everyone to know how these people treat their customers. I have never been so disrespected by someone I do/have done business with. This is actually the first review I have ever written about anything because I am so upset by the way I was treated by this man. If Amber had just come back and said I spoke to my manager and he said no, I would have said okay and made arrangements to pay those funds. Instead I was berated and disrespected. read more

Krietz Auto Sales may seem like a small town auto dealership, but they are big at heart. They really know how to take care of their customers. I live 850+ miles from Krietz and from the moment I saw the 2016 Corvette Z06 online that I wanted, until the day I took delivery (which was only 11 days), it was an easy, smooth process. I worked closely with Jonathan Jaeger through phone calls, emails, and text messages. He was very easy-going, no pressure, and a very professional salesman. It's one thing to be skeptical or apprehensive about buying from any car dealership you've never been to before, but one that is several states away is risky at best. You never know what to expect and often times a buyer leaves totally disappointed with the thought of never returning again. But what's worse is when you fly in to see a car in person and immediately see problems and are left with lower expectations than what was promised. This was not the case at all with Krietz. Jonathan immediately put me at ease and was upfront by explaining everything along the way. The Sales Manager, Nate Stevens, was also very professional. I called 5 minutes after opening(~8:05) and was told that if I brought my car in now, it'd be seen by 10. Dropped my car off, was told again that'd they'd look at it this morning and then they'd call. Ten. Eleven. Noon. Now one. I call and they say it's being looked at now, they'll call in 15. I call back at two, get put on hold for 5 minutes, then I'm told I have to leave a message and they'll call back. At three, I call several more times, alternately getting voicemail and a busy signal. At 3:45, I get a call with only half the info. They say they'll call back with more info in 10 minutes ("sorry about that. It'll definitely only be 10). 20 minutes later, they call back with conflicting results. Some of the worst customer service I've ever encountered (and I have Comcast). I'll never go back, and I recommend you take your car literally anywhere else. read more

After exchanging a few emails with Chris to answer questions about the car, I drove over an hour from Baltimore to test drive and evaluate the car myself. The Altima had the equipment, color and mileage that I was looking for and at an excellent price. I have to admit that I was a bit concerned about buying a car from a smaller dealer at what seemed a very low price, HOWEVER, after arriving I was very impressed with everything about Krietz Auto! Working with Chris was like dealing with an old friend, and everyone I met was super helpful. I now understand a little more about their 40 year history, their value driven pricing, and their focus on the customer. The ask price on their website was EXTREMELY reasonable--significantly better than comparable cars at other places--so I didn't even feel the need to try and negotiate down. They went through the typical offers like an extended warranty but were not pushy, at all, when declined. Overall, about as low-key of a used car purchase as I could expect. Bought a truck there two months ago. Day after I bought it the check engine light came on for a misfire on cylinder four, after 6 trips back it still isn't fixed. The people here are nice but the mechanical ability is questionable. They need to take it to a brand specific dealer for repairs because throwing parts at it gets expensive. They said I could use a loaner car which was nice but guess what? No loaner car available. Now the rear is leaking and the bushings are bad in the leaf springs. I asked if I could return it for something else they said sure bring it in and we will give you a trade in value. No that's not how this works you need to refund me my money plus my down payment. I drove an hour and a half in TRAFFIC after speaking with Lindsey about a car. When I got there they were doing work on the car and she says "they're trying to get in Maryland State Inspected before you test drive it" ... 20 min later when she gives me the keys she says, "we just put a new battery in it so don't turn it off" ... This is a family owned business. I would like to piggy back off a google review written by Brian Hollenbeck. This dealership cares nothing about the customers. It amazes me to see all the positive reviews. I was encouraged by the dealership to write a review prior to noticing all the problems with a 2009 Ford Edge that I purchased, so very likely many of the reviews are fabricated or were asked to be written by the dealership. This business establishment has no morals and operates in a very unscrupulous manner. They sold me the SUV that I purchased knowing that it had a myriad of problems, but one that would stand out the most was that the vehicle had a bad transmission. I literally spent months going back-and-forth to the dealership which was not easy as I lived over an hour away. They kept toying around with me to buy time for the short-term warranty to expire. In one instance, when I picked up the vehicle after shoddy repair work and had to return it yet again, there was evidence that the vehicle was used for personal use as there was obvious activity that others had been riding in it (empty water bottles, happy meal toys, etc) and dealing with Adam Krietz, the service manager, was absolutely useless. It was only when I decided to fax a threatening letter to the dealership that I was taking my case to the state commissioner's office who gave me contact information to get a case started against the dealership that they began to show only an inkling of false concern. They didn't like it; however, sometimes you have to fight until the end. Will never consider this dealership ever again. No sense of integrity whatsoever, from the purchase of the vehicle to trying to get it repaired. read more

We have bought used and new vehicles from other local and national dealers, and the service and price at Krietz stands out. We have purchased the additional warranties and both times it has paid for itself and more. I also love the free oil changes. I can drop my car off before work and come back for it at the end of the day, no need to wait for it. If you do need to wait, they have a nice waiting room with comfy sofas and complimentary hot and cold drinks. I also like that they keep us up to date on recommended maintenance. So many people neglect to invest in regular maintenance on their car only to be shocked when major work comes along (that could have been totally preventable in the first place). It's like going to the dentist to have your teeth cleaned after 5 years, well yeah you're probably going to need more than a regular cleaning at that point. This was my first time purchasing a vehicle. Even though there were some bumps along the road, the staff at Krietz Auto were very helpful. When I was looking at the vehicle, I was told that certain things were going to be fixed/replaced before I purchased it. It was a nice gesture, and I was happy that the vehicle I was purchasing was going to be in it's best condition when I finally drove it home. The repairs that were being made delayed me from having the vehicle for 3 days. When everything was finished, I went in to pick it up, only to find out that barely any of these promised repairs were made. So what was I waiting for during those 3 days? I went back in and told them what had happened and they apologized and said they were going to make it right. So I had to give up the vehicle for yet another 3 days, but this time, everything was finally fixed. The other issue I had was dealing with financing. When I agreed that I wanted to buy the vehicle, they asked me if I was going to work out the financing myself or if I wanted them to find financing for me. I told them that I was going to try to do it myself and that was that. I was approved for financing through Capital One Bank and everything was ready to go. I went to finalize everything only to find out that for some reason, Krietz couldn't accept financing through them, or even accept a check from them. This didn't really make sense to me, that they couldn't even accept a check from a bank, and it was a big disappointment because the interest rate I was approved for was great. It would have been really nice to know a list of banks that Krietz doesn't work with before I went through the trouble of finding financing and before I wasted an entire day of trying to set something up. But again, Krietz made it right for me and went into their database of who they can finance through and they were able to find me financing through a different bank that was affordable for me. It wasn't as great as the loan I could have gotten through Capital One, but it wasn't the worst I could have gotten either. The reason why I only give 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was without a vehicle for almost a week because the repairs weren't done right the first time, and it was very inconvenient. But I can completely understand that there was a miscommunication and I'm just happy that they eventually made everything right. I love my new jeep and I think it was there just for me :) As I said, there were many bumps in the road to finally having my new vehicle, but overall, it all worked out and I would gladly do business with Krietz Auto in the future. My only recommendation is that they provide a list of banks they do not work with to avoid causing inconvenience to future customers that may want to use financing through Capital One Bank. read more
