I can't even watch NBC any more. I want news not advertisements and fluff pieces on what is coming up for the weekend. It is super annoying how many commercials run on this channel. This includes news stories that are cut short with an advertisement for an eye cream or insurance policy. I switched to another channel that actually gives you news and a weather report. read more

I don't bother to watch any Reno newscasts. Poor information from reporters who seem to have no experience in gathering the facts of a story very shallow. Look and act like young interns. Doesn't seem to be follow up on important stories either. read more

After living in California for so many years, there are a lot of great things about Reno that make it a better place to live. The news here seems to be so much less negative and more importantly, far more fair to both political parties. Congratulations to KRNV on the absolute WORST news crawl that continually rolls at the bottom of the screen during daily morning National network news programs. Many "news" headlines included in their crawl are over a month old---still publicizing "upcoming" events that actually took place in past weeks! If you want or need local current headlines while watching morning national network news, I highly suggest you switch to CBS or ABC. I do prefer the "Today" show (on NBC) and the 2 hours following. However, am finding better local morning news coverage on the other networks. read more

I find myself not watching much broadcast TV these days, but I do like to watch the local and national news, and a few favorite shows when I have time. I think channel 4 has the worst news, but I do like a few NBC shows so they still rate in my 10 most watched stations. Reno/Sparks and surrounds aren't that large, so it's good to have local feeds that aren't out of Sacramento. Unfortunately, the local stuff from this station sounds more like they are parroting California attitudes than speaking for Nevada. This is the reason they only get three stars! read more

What an excellent and level-headed news team that are so approachable. It seems at times I can crawl into the TV set and join them there in the studio. Colin Jackson, Joe Hart, Michael Algers and Co. are so down to earth and you can tell they have all had such broad life experience that helps with their news casting. The morning team have the greatest sense of humor that I have come across. I love their cynical positivity and worldly wisdom. Yes, I moved from the Bay Area and found their newscasters professional but too standoffish. You never get to know them up close and personal - just the spiel of the daily rhetoric. What I like about channel 4 is that is willing to introduce so many local stories and events and is not "owned" by the popular media outlets and its propaganda machine. read more

TO:KIM BURROWS RE: IRS SCAMS I see that Kim Burrows will be doing a report on Monday 2/27 on IRS scams. As a Reno native I have been receiving MANY phone calls from operators telling me that I owe the IRS...and that my property, home etc will be seized. These calls are coming in from a toll free number, or a 800 number that won't allow a call back. With every call I hear back round telemarketing chatter. I have grown so accustomed to these calls that I actually pretend to be horrified and afraid and ask what I should do. After a few seconds I let them know what they are doing is a scam and shame on them for actually getting paid for scamming money from unsuspecting or elderly people. I don't hang up any more. I ask them how they can look in the mirror each morning knowing what they do for their paycheck. I ask if they have children, are they proud of what their father does for a living. Yes, I am harsh. My husband is an attorney here in Reno. He says that there is not much I can do. They can change their phone number at any time and continue with their deceit. Sad and wrong, yet I still receive calls on a weekly basis. .....and please bring up the "your computer has a virus" scam. That is the worst. Thanks for letting me vent!! This is Reno. Be thankful. Living in S. FL for 24 yrs, the first 10 mins was nothing but all the violent crime and murders taking place on a daily basis. Plus I love watching the morning news just to see what events and happenings are taking place. Getting up and watching Melissa Carlson start off your day doesn't hurt. She makes the younger gals look like hell and stupid. read more

I tune in to KRNV after 5:00 p.m. I like the news reports by Joe Hart and Shelby Sheehan, and have been watching them for as long as they've been on the air. Also, I enjoy the weather reporting more then the other 2 network stations. I dislike the "so-called" comedies and wish there were more programs for us "over-the-hill" folks, especially westerns. My suggestion to those who don't like KRNV or the other stations - watch something else, read a book and don't demean those who broadcast the news. I also enjoy Lester Holt following the 5 o'clock news on KRNV and watch KOLO's broadcasts from 6 to 7, and test my knowledge on Jeapardy. MSNBC keeps me up to date on what Trump is up to to ruin our beautiful U.S.A! read more

....five stars to krnv for once again proving that reno truly is the shallow end of the media gene pool. today, monday 10/31/16 ,.the 5pm news lead story was about reno city workers cleaning up the fallen leaves in the neighborhoods, while channels 2 & 8 led with the latest hillary clinton email scandal, as marginally more important it is. keep up the good work guys! lol.....! read more
