I normally don't write 2 reviews on the same store so this will be a first. I am not a fan of shopping but shopping at this Kroger store is a very nice experience. When you enter the store it is clean, the shelves are usually full or being filled and most of all YOU ARE GREETED BY EVERY EMPLOYEE usually with a smile. It is very apparent that ALL the employees in this store enjoy where they work. I have spoken with the manager, assistant managers and employees and have been greeted with a very pleasant hello. If my wife or I need a question answered or assistance finding things the employee will usually stop what they are doing to help us. You are made to feel that no request is too much to ask. Yesterday I spoke with Rob and his assistant and they both went out of their way to accommodate us with a THANK YOU for shopping the store. IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO SHOP. By the way, it is much closer for us to shop the mega store but the experience there is not close to the experience at this store. Saturday, August 22, 2026, at approximately 5:00 PM I am very disappointed with the customer service at this store. I went to cash a check--a service they advertise offering--and waited about 10 minutes in the customer service area, but no one came to assist me. When I found an employee and asked for help, she told me that it "wasn't her area." I later found out that she was actually the manager of that section. I waited again, and when another customer arrived, the manager immediately came out to assist them. That customer pointed out that I had been waiting first. When I tried to explain that I simply wanted to cash a check, the manager interrupted me before I could even finish speaking and told me that the machine was broken. The fact that the machine was broken was not the main issue. What bothered me was the complete lack of attention, the dismissive attitude, and the way I was spoken to. A manager should be setting an example for good customer service, not making customers feel like they are an inconvenience for asking for help. I left feeling extremely uncomfortable and humiliated. This was a very disappointing experience, and I hope management takes a serious look at how customers are being treated. read more

I am fed up with Kroger "clip" coupons. Both my wife and I continue to have trouble where the acct shows coupon clipped only to not being applied at the register. If you sign up with an acct to get sale items. WHY must you then clip electronic coupons that 69% of the time do not work. Either you get the sale price with the acct or not. Done with their mess and will no longer put up with it. Again today , clip coupon for Sausage only to pay full price when totaled. When it does sometimes work, you cannot tell until you total the bill. Then discounts are applied and takes an accountant to see which items they apply to. GOOD BY KROGER.... HELLO PUblix who usually has same sale price, no account needed, and NO STUPID CLIPPING OF ONLINE COUPONS TO AN ACCOUNT. What a stupid business plan.... read more

This store is the worst Kroger I have ever shopped. They are constantly out of things, and nobody helps you say barely ever have registers open almost always have to do self check out and today I got to wait over 15 minutes while 3 people stood around at the deli counter but were unable to help. My first time to a Kroger supermarket. I stopped by to get my Kroger discount card which was quick and easy. Being from the northeast, I'm used to Shop Rite and Wegmans. This store seemed to be a combination of both. Very nice produce area, deli section and meat case. Also a nice selection of beer and wine. Large prepared food and bakery area. Easy check out. Plenty of parking. The selection of detergents, paper and plastic were more limited than other large chains. There was a better selection of frozen foods and dairy. read more

Just Ok. Other grocery stores nearby have nicer interiors and more selection. Pricing wasn't great either.

Bought chicken breasts that were on "special." Grilled them for dinner and was very disappointed. They were Purdue and claimed to have no antibiotics, cage free, no by-products, etc. It was the weirdest chicken I've ever tasted, the texture was like it had been infused with plastic, difficult to describe but nothing like any chicken breasts I have ever had. Also purchased an Entenmanns crumbcake, a favorite in our family and it was very stale, not fresh at all. Very disappointing. I'm wondering if it was days old or previously frozen as I've noticed a lot of their bakery products are. Very unhappy with my purchases and will shop elsewhere. read more

We had our youngest son's Wedding Reception here in South Carolina (80 people) all flying in from the east coast, mid-west, the west and the south. We took a sunset cruise the night before the reception with (40) people and decided to get our buffet food prepared and supplied by Kroger. Kevin (in the bakery section of the store) did a perfect job in providing for our needs. Helping Plan - Perfect Presentation - Perfect Taste - Perfect Value - Perfect Personality and Customer Service - Perfect Delivery at the Designated Time - Perfect If you have an upcoming event you need prepared food for, you will not find a better person to manage it (helping you with your selections) delivering more than was promised and doing it exactly on time. I wish this Kroger was as nice as the one on the island by Shelter Cove, but sadly it is not. First off this store has a terrible layout. The isles are narrow and awkwardly set up. The other problem with this store is the fact that they do major restocking during the day when the store is already super busy with shoppers. Because of the narrow aisles and terrible layout, they often block sections either where you are trying to navigate or get things off the shelf. The third issue I have with this store is the fact that they have a terrible selection of seafood. You would think being so close to the sea and having lots of rivers & waterways, they would stock local fresh seafood but no. I always ask and am always disappointed because they do not. And finally, I have found a couple of nice & helpful employees here but a lot of time, i run into cashiers that are not very friendly or having a bad day. This store has some redeeming qualities... they have a decent selection of gourmet cheeses and produce. Also, they have good sales from time to time including BOGOs. read more

I have to say that I visit Kroger with my family 1x-2x per week and have never had a problem until today. We waited 10 minutes at self checkout for Pam the checkout worker to stop talking to people and acknowledge that we needed assistance. When she finally assisted us, she got the machine working again and then decided to stand directly behind us, hovering like a damn helicopter. And everything we put into our bags, she had an opinion about it! She was not only rude, but extremely disrespectful when we interrupted her time on HER job! During this trip there was also a customer screaming at the front of the store because I assume she was accused of stealing. The management team didn't do anything to help the situation. They just stood there dumbfounded. Do better Kroger! I know you can! read more

I needed a few insulin needles 04/07/2020. Being fairly new to Bluffton, and with the travel ban in place since we are in the middle of a pandemic, I decided to drop into the Kroger (#23) pharmacy that is right by my house instead of driving to my old pharmacy on HHI. I asked the lady behind the counter for some needles and gave her my gauge and dose. She turned to go get them but the pharmacist stopped her. He came over and started asking questions. I showed him my INSULIN pump and assured him that I AM diabetic... only out in this pandemic to quickly grab some needles.... He started telling me how a prescription is required for the purchase of needles. This is untrue. Whether or not needles are sold is at the pharmacist's discretion. I felt it very unnecessary to go through all of that when I had provided proof that I wear an INSULIN pump. As someone at higher risk of being severely affected by Covid-19, I was offended. I went to another pharmacy and was served quickly and respectfully. read more

An absolute shame. I never though I would see a worse check out scenario than Wal-mart. Too few cashiers and only half of the self check out open. Publix is too close and too superior in service and quality to waste time on this cesspool. read more

I didn't know it was a state dission to make every store in sc go to paper bags.. no matter what supermarket I go to . I'm not filling carts again. The bags fall apart on me even the ones with the handles. Ill bring a giant bag made of material with me. Instead of lugging paper bags and damaging the product I just bought.. as far as stars go ? Kroger's service is great. Lots of good things to buy at a good price . So I'll keep shopping there. read more

I am honestly a Publix girl. I was born and raised so you could say it is in my blood. I lived in Bluffton for four years before I moved to Savannah. Where I moved, Publix was a good distance away but Kroger was walking distance. Now that I moved back to Bluffton, Kroger is my go to, even though now it is out of the way for me. I rate this location five stars because it deserves it. I liked the two locations in Savannah but the Bluffton one kicks the pants off of them. I have never had an employee not be helpful. I have never had one make me feel dumb for asking questions about a particular sale or where an item is located. I have had associates stop what they are doing and walk me to an item, not just tell me the aisle number or point. I come to this Kroger at all hours. From the afternoon to two/three in the morning due to my work schedule. Every time, I always have associates ask me if I need anything. This location is always stocked on sale items and regular items. I just love the friendliness of this location. My only negative is not having the gas station to use my points but my last visit last week I learned one is opening within a month, therefore I have zero complaints. P.S. the Starbucks located inside is amazing too. One of the fastest and accurate Starbucks in Bluffton hands down. It is usually the same few baristas and they know their stuff and their speed is awesome. I always know if there is a line the line will move quick. read more

I'm posting here because my search for Starbucks didn't give the Kroger Kiosk as an option. I'm an avid user of my Starbucks card & love the app. After receiving less than stellar service at the Fording Island store near Target I decided to stop into Kroger. What a fantastic idea. I was greeted by Kelsey and she was smiling. At 7am I was the only person in line. Kelsey was quick and accommodating when I asked for a last minute change to my order. I will be back and likely skip the other store since they always appear rushed & dismissive barely making eye contact and screw up nearly every order. My pet peeve fail to include the green stopper to help with keeping the coffee hot & minimize spills. Kelsey rocked the coffee pumpkin latte was superb my friends coffee was ready quickly & ready for travel stoppers & all. read more

Terrible! Pharmacist LOST my sons prescription that I HAND DELIVERED myself! We have used Kroger pharmacy for almost a year now and at 8:45pm they claim they have no idea where his prescription is that he needs to take IN THE MORNING! I can't call in a refill to his doctor office tonight, it will have to be in the morning and due to the type of medication I have to drive 20 mins ONE WAY just to pick up a new prescription! I'm now going to miss a couple hours of work in the morning due to their negligence!!! Absolutely mind blowing and will never use this pharmacy ever again! Thank goodness it's not life or death type medication! People beware!!!! read more

I headed to Kroger's on Sunday Morning to get a few items for dinner. The store is decently laid out. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The prices were better than Publix. If you are from out of town, stop by the Customer Service station next to the Coffee shop and get a membership card to help with the discounts. read more

Never been so disappointed as to have a rude meat guy that you could tell did not want to be there!!! Here is what happened. I asked to have some hog jowls sliced and he said we can't do that because it was packaged by the producer. Hum? If I want a whole ham sliced you can't do that??? Usually they go out of there way to help. But to come up with a lame excuse like that is inexcusable. Hope they fix there policy, but I want be back to give them a chance to be rude again!!! read more

A nice store, fair prices, has ample supplies of sale items. A big plus is that its open 24 hours. I prefer going at 11 pm to an empty parking lot with few customer than making the trip than a 11 am hassle. read more

It's a grocery store chain. Love that they have a good selection of organics. Could be cleaner. Always feel kind of yucky after leaving.

After a while of shopping here 3-5 times per week (to get fresh products I buy in small quantities and consume within the next day or 2) I can testify a few things. The "older" staff are typically a delight to check out with, full of smiles. The produce is fresh, but usually under-stocked in fresh herbs. The meats are priced decently and quality is up to par. The fish/seafood is where things take a bad turn. Some date labels are covered by their "woohoo! Low price" sticker so you can't really tell when they expire, meats included on rare occasion (I've seen this too many times not to mention it) but it's typically that very day. I've been sketched out by it but decided to try some of their scallops that were supposedly fresh, with no woohoo labels on the package. I figured I'm better off not taking that chance. I cooked them to temperature and even went overboard just to be sure, burning them a little on purpose. I've had food poisoning for 4 days now and since I'm sitting at home doing nothing, I wrote this. I'm not saying it's a bad store, they just don't seem to have the volume of customers needed to keep their seafood rotating at a fast enough rate. I'll stick to what I know. It will still be my go-to store. read more
