A tradition for us on our last day in HHI is to get subs sandwiches for dinner. The last few years we been going to Publix. A few years ago I learned from social media that Publix has really good handmade subs. So we tried and have had a good experience every time. You basically go up to the deli area and order. I got a chicken salad wrap with lots of veggies. My only complaint really is it was very soggy. And became difficult to eat. It wasn't bad in taste really just berry soggy and dripping. Next time I won't get that. It is just plain chicken salad. Mayo and chicken. Needs some seasoning too. The rest of the subs were a hit. I do have to say the deli team member was very nice. But did not speak much English. Which made it a bit difficult to ask questions and ask for ingredients on the sandwich. She was nice and we made it through. We will be back next year. read more

I don't normally shop here, but stopped on the way home from the beach to pick up a couple of items. Since it was on a Sunday during peak tourist season, they were completely out of stock on several items I wanted to purchase. I was able to find alternatives, but the pricing was a little higher than what I would have paid at HT or Kroger. I do like shopping at Publix on occasion for certain things, and they often have good BOGO deals for selected items. Unfortunately for me on this visit, none of the items I purchased were on BOGO special. read more

This is a very clean store. They are open until 9 on weekdays. At almost closing, all of the shelves seemed stocked. I would expect stocking to be done at night. There was a steady stream of customers coming in, and the employees treated all of them with courtesy and respect. They had several check out lines open in addition to the self checkout. If you are renting a place with a kitchen, stop by and get your supplies. It is less expensive than eating out every day. read more

One of my favorite things to eat when I am down south is fried chicken and without fail, Publix has the best! The rest of the supermarket is okay, typical supermarket items. They have a decent selection of organic fruit and vegetables. The baked goods are decent, very similar to Whole Foods. March, 2022 Visit Great store, selection; friendly staff especially the Baker ----- ----- We visited Hilton Head Island for spring break, 2022. While we usually stay at Marriott's Grande Ocean on South Forest Road, near Sea Pines Plantation this trip we stayed at Marriott's SurfWatch, a few miles away. We typically shop at Publix, but this time we visited this Indigo Plantation location. We were able to get the typical food for our room (has a full kitchen), including an amazing apricot spread and a dalmation cherry spread - phenomenal on.... White Mountain Bread (!!!); as we walked up, the baker was putting out a loaf of the White Mountain bread and offered it to us; it's like a cross between Italian and French breads, but lighter... we finished the first loaf in two days and then got another loaf. We visited on March 14, Pi day... 3.14... and the same baker showed me that they had pies for $3.14 that day and that he asks the kids to see if they know what Pi is (it's the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter). The $3.14 pies were back to $4.44 the next day, so Publix is commended for the fun + savings on Pi Day - thank you! Publix has frequent shopper program, and a great staff. Thank you, Publix! Love Publix! We only see this chain of supermarkets when we are on vacation. This location was only a few minutes from our hotel and next to a Walmart. We were lucky and was able to get great buy on raspberries which was on sale for .99, strawberries 2/5.00 and star fruit 2/3.00. We love picking up fresh fruit to eat in the room. They also have a good selection of beer and wine. I was able to find beer hubby had liked from our dining experiences in town like the Sweet water 420 IPA. Again it was on sale for 14.00 for a case of 12.00. We also picked up water toys for the pool. They had an aisle set up for your convenience. Our most favorite thing here is the fried chicken. Again caught it on sale, 8 pieces for 7.49. Great prices and great selections! read more

Publix is always a life saver if and when there is no Kmart, Walmart or Costco nearby. I am a hardcore Costco shopper just to put it out there. Anyways, we found a great selection of fruit and snacks. By the way; you cannot beat their fried chicken bucket for $8.99. You walk into the store and you are welcome with the delicious smell of fresh fried chicken, yummy and tasty for my tummy. read more

When I am in the southeast part of the United States, we always seem to find a Publix grocery store nearby. On or travels to Hilton Head, we stopped in a fairly large shopping area and found Publix set back away from the other retail stores. I find Publix to be a wonderful grocery store which I have shopped at often when in the southeast. My favorite is the delicatessen where they are friendly and very accommodating. I never have found this grocery store very busy since the cashier lines tend to move fast. And usually can park easily nearby the entrance. I do not recommend this store for specialty grocery items. read more

Rated #3 in Consumer Reports' Best Supermarkets (behind Wegmans and Trader Joe's), Publix definitely does show why they're a quality supermarket. The service was good, the prices seem pretty decent for the island and the facilities look bright and clean. If I lived down south, I'd probably do a bulk of the shopping here. But Publix is no Trader Joe's or Wegmans. read more

Just had a terrible experience. Unfamiliar, with the store, I asked a people from the deli and bakery questions a few questions and they were so annoyed and so customer unfriendly. I walked away and refused to deal with such behavior. When I went to check out, I got on a line and the cashier gave me a "what are you doing look". I asked if she was open and her response was I only take 11 items. FYI - no one else was on the line. I decided to go to the next register which was empty. read more

You know what I love about Publix? Out of all the grocery chains in the south, they are the only one that doesn't screw around with those stupid membership key cards pieces of junk! I used to live in the south and when I moved to the midwest I was so glad I could take all of those things of my car keys!!!! Now everytime I visit, I find myself grinding my teeth when I pull into a store lot and remember I left the savings card in the condo. So, to save on my dental bills, I just go to Publix. Ok, rant over. This is a good publix. Big, clean, friendly. Nothing to complain about. If you have never been, Publix is not the cheapest grocery chain, but it does have the best service and consistency. Never a shortage of employees and never a shortage of service. This location is especially friendly. Publix bakery donuts are delicious by the way. Don't forget to check the coupon rack at the front door as they are practically giving you money if you'll take it! read more

Outside of management, staff is incompetent for the service industry. While I once had respect for Publix as an upscale grocery store, this location proved me wrong. The fish counter representative has no understanding as to what a swordfish is and could not answer as to if they had any swordfish. Then the bagger was a smart aleck and started counting aloud the items in the 10 or less aisle when we made note that the individual prior had a full 40 items. Thankfully management is very adept and took swift action against the little dipshit. read more

We ordered balloons for a birthday 24 hours in advance, the person we spoke to said that it would not be a problem. We showed up the next day at the time we needed the balloons by and they had forgotten all about them. It was unprofessional and disappointing considering that I've never had a problem with Publix in the past. read more

Although I buy most of my organic fruits and vegetables from Whole Foods, I always make a separate Publix shopping list for other items that WF simply doesn't carry. Publix is always clean & reliable, with friendly people at the registers. During this COVID period, Publix has done a great job of restocking paper products and other necessary items as quickly as possible. read more

This bakery is the best! They have an event planning department that can plan food for any event. Im pressed never seen an Apron Event Planning dept. In publix. This store is really clean and the staff is very helpful! The Wine Cellar in this store is large and has a goos selection! read more

This place is very clean and the food is fresh, Wish i had one in my city. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the people behind the deli counter were extremely lazy. we live on the island and go to Publix every Wednesday.. Everything is great except the deli counter (the fried chicken) we'd love to find a different attendant but it seems the same lady is always there. She is rude, uncaring and indifferent. This has happened on several occasions to the degree that we have reported her behavior to the Manager. Nothing has changed. We are going to give it one more shot because everything else is great and you are convenient but we can go a few miles down the road if this continues. read more

I'd like to recommend the staff and bakery at the Festival Center Publix on Hilton Head Island. I worked with Kim and Kelly to order a groom's cake for my son's wedding on Hilton Head. Both were terrific to work with, as were others with whom I spoke on the phone. Very helpful, very pleasant - just went out of their way to make sure the cake was what we wanted. The end result was exactly what we wanted and my son was really pleased. Cake tasted and looked great! Even offered to deliver to our rehearsal dinner location, and provided a coupon to reduce the delivery cost (minimal anyway). I'd highly recommend this bakery and their wonderful staff! read more
