Whenever I come to Hilton head, I look forward to my morning bike rides to Harris Teeter. I usually pick up items for lunch to enjoy by the pool. They have the best fish and seafood counter. Their vegetables are amazing as well. Everything is really fresh. The staff are always helpful. I've purchased all sorts of things from here. I've used the salad bar, the hot bar, the sushi bar and usually pick up a lot of fruits and vegetables. Like most of the grocery stores in the area since the pandemic, the prices for groceries have skyrocketed. I was shocked at how much more food is here versus where I'm from. I look forward to coming back next year.

This is my first time inside Harris Teeter, and I'm impressed. I loved how clean it was and how many options they had for things I've never seen. I'm definitely curious to see if we have one in my area and to explore more with more time on my hands. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I was also impressed that they accepted Apple Pay at checkout.

We stopped to grab a few things while staying at the Hilton Head Island MotorCoach Resort a few blocks away. For those of you planning a trip here your map apps will be one of your best friends while on the island, local ordinances prevent any business from displaying large or tall sign so with all the beautiful landscaping a lot of the places that would normally be in plan sight as you drive around aren't so easily seen. This is a beautiful store that is fully stocked with just about anything you'll need during your visit here including nice Starbucks products to enjoy while you shop. I just ran inside for few items and it was great experience, the staff at checkout was very friendly and accommodating, so this was definitely a five star experience but I understand no business can be 100% perfect all the time but if they make every effort to resolve any issue that's really all one can ask for - with so many SKUs from so many vendors everything is not absolutely under their control prior to things arriving at their store so I tend to over look minor issues and focus on the total experience. I'm a happy camper having found this place, this is a very clean and well managed store and in today's crazy economy they offer reasonable prices and fortunately for those that can't manage some short comings from retailers there are other options but I'm sure they at times have their issues as well and mat struggle with the overly pretentious...

They had preseasoned chicken breast for $3.99 a pound. Super cheap. We got lemon pepper and Italian herb. All made for you just grill. They came out perfect. We also bought burgers. 6 for $7. Good deal too. They do grill up kinda small. Small compared to the standard hamburger buns. More bun than burger. Just FYI. Everything is easy to find in the store. It's laid out simply. Signs everywhere. Staff is pleasant, shelves are stacked. Prices are basically pretty good. Some things are high but if you know prices then you can find something reasonable. Really can't ask for more.

The Frito Chips were advertised on special for 4 for $10 or whatever the regular price per item was if you didn't purchase 4 bags of the same size/options. When I checked out, I asked the attendant if I could use a store Kroger/coupon card, as I'm not.a local and don't have a Kroger card (we don't have Kroger where I live). The attendant acted somewhat odd - and I wondered if perhaps I had offended her because I didn't greet her properly (though I was not rude) before asking about using a store Kroger card for the discounts. She didn't respond to me at first and then asked how I was. After we completed the pleasantries, I then asked again about the discount card usage and she agreed that she would be glad to help with my request. We made pleasant talk as she rang the order up, though her mannerisms seemed to indicate she was exhausted or possibly on some type of medication. I asked if she was tired and ready to go home, which she denied and then she talked about her allergies. We spoke about allergies for a bit and then I used my credit card to pay once the grocery order was complete and she used the store discount card to apply to the order. After paying, I looked at the receipt and noted it did not appear the chips rang up as 4 for $10. She questioned my thinking and I showed my receipt. She continued acting somewhat odd, as if medicated or something. I offered to take a photo of the coupon at the shelves where I observed the coupon and left my receipt with her while I went to the chip aisle. I came back to the register and walked up to her with my phone. She asked me to wait, as she had taken the next folks in line behind me by this point - which I did with no issue/patiently. When she finished the folks behind me in line, she looked at my phone showing the coupon on the store shelf with the advertised price and the brands, etc. included in the coupon. She seemed unsure and seemed to continue to question my logic as well as act somewhat addled. I decided to move on and asked for the receipt. She said she didn't keep it. I did not argue nor did I attempt to correct her. I matter of fact stated, I left it with you when I went to look at the coupon. I also stated that if this was the worst thing that ever happened to me, I would live a good life and I then turned to go. She called me back from the door holding up the receipt. I then looked at the receipt with her and attempted to talk about the question again. She indicated that I didn't use my phone coupon and that was the issue. At this point, I stated that I would not have purchased 4 bags of chips without the coupon and I just wanted to return the others and keep the bag if chips I originally wanted without the coupon/discount. She indicated I could not return at the register and would need to go to customer service. There were two other attendants around/in the area observing all or part of the transaction and/or issue I described above. I never observed either of them attempt to assist with this issue either. At this point, I decided it was better to just leave, as it didn't seem anyone was capable, willing and/or able to assist with the issue. It seemed to me that the attendant was troubled by the whole issue - possibly resulting from her addled condition - which I do not know if it was her ordinary method of interacting with customers or if she was responding/reacting to some particular situation/circumstance, or even me in particular, etc. I don't think I ever lost my cool nor do I think I was rude. This is just one of the reasons why the big box stores are not always really the better places to shop. They often do not have the personalized feel of a store where the ownership or manager or the employee has a vested interest in high level customer service. I did not experience what I call great customer service and the situation was aggravating for sure. Again - if this is the worst thing that ever happens to me - I will live a great life. Regardless, the point is the lack of ability to provide good customer service and help resolve what should have been a simple issue. Better luck next time and maybe I need to just keep my business at the locally owned and operated Piggly Wiggly on the island. Their customer service has always been fantastic and they seem to know what to do when dealing with customers.

This has become a tradition when we visit Hilton Head. We have to visit the Piggly Wiggly. Why?…read moreBecause we LOVE the merch. And by "we" I mean me, my sister, my kiddo, and her kiddos. Now this location is pretty convenient, located in Colgny Square, especially if you're renting. a house/condo in the area, it's walkable and easy to get to. This location also has a larger parking lot, so if you're just running to grab a few things, you shouldn't have a problem finding parking. When you arrive outside, you'll see a large pig cutout, don't be embarrassed take a pic with the pig, we took many lol. When you go inside, you may feel like you walk into the grocery store, you feel like you walked into a bit of a time warp. I promise you that only leads to the charm of the Piggly Wiggly. Before you can go to the produce section, you have to pass through the merch. This is where Piggly Wiggly shines. They have shirts of every size and color. They have shirts/onesies for infants, hats, beach bags, koozies, sweatshirts, and they now even have a line of holiday inspired shirts. I will say prior to going to the Piggly Wiggly we had gone grocery shopping at a bigger box store, and I'm a bit annoyed that we did. The prices at Piggly Wiggly were cheaper, way cheaper. Also, don't sleep on their crumb coffee cake. It was a real hit with our family!

It's a fun place with their local series Tshirts and wearables, etc. The food is fresh and awesome! I was noticing today how much better their produce was than the big box store I shopped yesterday! They also didn't have boiled peanuts from a local favorite vendor at the big box store - but they had it here at the piggly wiggly! Did I mention the personal Servce? That differed from the box store too. Yesterday at the big box grocery store - I had a grumpy attendant who made me move lines because she was getting ready to shut her line down. She wasn't pleasant and was sorta rude about it - but at the piggy wiggly we were met with friendly folks all around. I noted that they really have the local feel including a care fund for a local customer who has health issues and also support of a charity event that provides food and health care for underprivileged children. I always prefer locally owned places when I can find them and I'm glad I stopped by - we will be back!

None of their in-house bread has any ingredients or what it's made out of, etc. so people that have a gluten intolerance, and sensitivity, or dairy allergy or egg allergy they do not have a label and I'm actually quite shocked because I believe that's illegal. According to FDA laws for South Carolina, it would be illegal to have the bread label and how you prepare it without having a proper ingredient list; According to FDA they require you to have a ingredient labels on all the items that you're selling; I asked to the brunette girl at the counter she literally just told me she has no idea and she doesn't know how to find out the information so I will probably not come back to Nantucket meat and Fish market. I understand if she isn't aware but I thought maybe she could like phone a manager or ask somebody but it's like she didn't even want to help. They have a great selection of food along with dry goods, spices. They are a little bit like an upscale fresh market if you have been to the fresh market on the island. 4/10
