My issue is with the uscan check out lane. I am very limited with my time when I go anywhere because my husband is a recent paraplegic & I have to have caregivers to stay with him while I do anything basically. Yesterday I was doing self checkout & realized it was almost time for my caregiver to leave, so I rushed out forgetting to pick up my cash back that I had paid to get. Realizing what I did, I called the store as soon as I got home & was told by the girl that had helped me with a register problem, that she had seen the money & picked it up for me. She told me that they would hold it for me until today when I was able to get another caregiver to stay with him. When I got there, the money was not in the drawer, so the girl today sent me to the help desk to check with them. She knew nothing about it & couldn't find it either, so I was told by Serena, (help desk) that they could not be held responsible for it. I was told yesterday on the phone by the employee who found my money, that if they hadn't found it when they did, that they woulld not be held responsible for it, which I totally understand. All this trouble trying to get my money back. It was only $10 dollars that I needed to help pay for my caregiver. Seriously? You are going to lose a good customer over "MY" $10 dollars! When I got home today, I called twice to asked for a manager & was hung up on twice. Someone did answer the second time & she told me she would try to find a manager for me & then nothing again but a dial tone. Just a side note to say that I have most of my groceries delivered to my door from Walmart for obvious reasons, but still managed to spend $912.15 cents from Feb. 7-March 6th at Krogers.

I remember Phil Bueche telling me that good friendly service was important as I was the last employee the customer would interact with. I must have fulfilled this as I have had people recognize me from there as recent as ~ 5 years ago. Over the years I (my family) have commented there is not a cleaner, well stocked or friendlier grocery store than Bueche's. While we live in West Michigan now, when we are in Flushing visiting family, we do all shopping at Bueches...even if we are driving by one of the other chain stores.

This so-called local "food market" is not worth my time or money. After finding a few overpriced treats for my road trip, including the most expensive bottle of Starbucks frapuccino ever, I proceeded to the cash register to pay when suddenly the POS "owner" went off on my friend, Rick, and I for no reason. He treated me VERY rudely and then went on a tirade about God only knows what. He ranted about politics, local government affairs, his general opinion of society, the overly-entitled, etc. Hello, did he even notice that he was in his store, in front of paying customers? I suppose not. Maybe he does this a lot? It was beyond weird and completely classless. He also felt it necessary to respond to my private comment to Rick about the minimum credit card transaction fee. Oh yes, he went there! Was he polite about it (never mind that he wasn't minding his own business, which would have been the appropriate thing to do) when he chose to respond? Are you kidding me? No! This store is a dive and you should definitely avoid it at all costs! I wish I had. In short, there's nothing "super" about the Gaines Superette. I hope that a decent grocery store takes its place for the sake of the community. Unfortunately, there is nary another grocery store in sight.
