Nearly 49 years ago I started my first job as a carry out at Bueches...and they still offer the service today. I remember Phil Bueche telling me that good friendly service was important as I was the last employee the customer would interact with. I must have fulfilled this as I have had people recognize me from there as recent as ~ 5 years ago. Over the years I (my family) have commented there is not a cleaner, well stocked or friendlier grocery store than Bueche's. While we live in West Michigan now, when we are in Flushing visiting family, we do all shopping at Bueches...even if we are driving by one of the other chain stores. read more

After a hot summer walk along the river trail, it was mighty fine to walk into the air-conditioned space at Bueche's, which seems to be a wonderful local grocery for small-town Flushing. There was a mighty-fine selection of everything we needed for a late afternoon mixed grill, including Koegel's Viennas, always mighty fine for this rarely-around-home Flint expatriate. High price and milk spoils within 1 week of purchase !!!! Poor selection shelfs are stocked as if the person doing the inventory buying is selecting for their own taste especially in the icecream its as if a child were making the choice of flavors. read more

Love the service! The employees are so friendly and helpful! The store is clean and the shelves are always fully stocked. They never run out of sale items in my experience the sale prices apply to everyone without a phone number, card or need to clip coupons from the store website. They even will carry your groceries to your car and load them for you. I wish there were more places like this still. read more

Today I went to flushing store 10/5/23 at the deli to where I have shopped since 1999 the clerk asked a long haired man to help he walked behind counter scratching his face I told him I would rather someone other than he wait on me he politely asked why so I told him he replied his hands were clean he put gloves on my problem is he put on if so with unwashed hands. The other clerk told him to put clean gloves 0n, however I wanted someone else to wait on me and he wanted to argue with me about it. Italked to the manager on duty at about 12:30 he said he would speak about it to him. Dumb founded I stated how about an apology he stated i'ii have him apologise to you don't you think that should of come right then and there at this time I realised my business was not that important. This is the very reason my money will be spent elseware. I have to admit most of all I will miss the lunchmeat and donuts the most ok I will miss the meat and crab salad not to mention all the people i have referred to them. I am very sure they will survive but will be missing my chunk of change which was in the thousands per year. read more

I will never shop here again. I bought a sandwich and threw up while driving down the road. It was ham and cheese with lettuce and it was disgusting. I think I'm gonna be sick and asked if I get food poisoning will they pay for my medical and initially the tall old man working there as a manager said no until I got upset and angry with him for not having any sympathy and not taking blame saying I may of gotten sick from something else. This guy should be fired. the young woman who maybe another manager did take my info and tried to be sympathetic. I did nothing wrong yet I'm treated like crap. I'm not sure how or why this happened to me. I'm a good member of our community. With that being said regardless even if I were a bum I should still be treated like a human being and not nothing less. Also I purchased many other sandwiches from Bueche with no issue and that's why I'm also upset. I don't know how old lettuce and cheese could be used to make something to sell and on top of it have the manager look at it and agree I needed a refund. Also not one time did he or the lady working day I'm sorry. The only person to say sorry was the woman working the lottery machine. She was very kind and understanding. She didn't get upset when I told her I had a question about my sandwich and she immediately dropped what she was doing to help. read more

We have lived in Flushing our whole life. Bueche's is nice clean store to shop at. Everybody is always friendly and willing to go the extra mile in helping the customer. The deli is great and the donuts are the best anywhere and cheaper than any bakery around. Taking back bottles and cans is almost a pleasure as they count them and give you the cash right at the customer service counter. 2-3 minutes and you are done! No hassles with feeding cans and bottles into a machine and then having to redeem your receipt for money. This store is also the only place around that stii offers paper bags and has people to carry them out for you. Tipping of the carry out people is prohibited. You will also never see a shopping cart in the parking lot ready to slam into the side of your car as the few that make it out the door are brought in by the carry out personnel with in mintues. Bueche's has also always supported the community by allowing various groups to sell things in the lobby and donating products at cost for non profits which has been much appreciated. read more

Bueches is a wonderful place. They have an excellent deli and produce section. Everyone there is always super nice. They have the best donuts and they are cheap! This place is basically a one stop spot and you can do everything from grocery shopping, grabbing a quick lunch, cashing a check when the bank is closed, taking back bottles, etc... The price is higher then the big box places, but a small percent of my cash goes back to my son's school with the bottom of their reciepts. I always go there. If you need or want them to, they also carry out your groceries to your vehicle. read more

I love this grocery store. The best produce around, better then Meijers and light years beyond walmart. They have RABBIT !!!! in there meat section 99% of the time (frozen) along with the everyday beef, chicken, pork, and fish. And if your looking or are in need of a rib roast yummmmm. They usually have it. They have an oil section that is the best ive seen outside Wegmans. Pumpkin, grape seed, almond, walnut, and on and on. Full deli, bakery, and a large beer selection. There's no question this the best grocery store in area. From the butcher to the baker to the girl at the cash register, every one there knows that there only job is to make sure you have what you want and what need. This store exemplifies small-town America. Friendly faces, helpful staff, and most importantly, not shoulder to shoulder shopping or forty-five minutes in the checkout lines. At its busiest, you may be in line for ten minutes. All registers are always open. Good produce, good deli, great bakery. I've heard the argument that I can save upwards of ten or fifteen dollars by going to Kroger or Walmart, respectively, but I've got no problem paying to keep that extra money in the community. With Kroger hiring security guards and Walmart no longer twenty-four hours due to fights and shoplifting, ten to fifteen dollars is a small price to pay to feel like I'm in a clean, safe, caring grocery store. read more

Somehow, someone in San Diego that thought Bueches should sell CONDUMS AND beer, felt it appropriate to give a poor rating to our HOMETOWN market, because they don't sell CONDUMS. How rude and unfair. I hope that no-one gives that review, much credibility. If only her parents had been able to get ahold of a CONDUM, EH!! read more

Everyone I know loves the experience of shopping at Bueche's in Flushing in contrast to other stores in the area. They love the wide aisles, the courtesy clerks ready to take the groceries out and load them into their vehicles, and the overall friendly attitude all the workers display. Cashiers and courtesy clerks are always eager to help customers unload carts when they see they could use some help--such as people in the store-provided Amigos. The produce and the meat departments seem to get the most compliments on their quality as well as their selection. Many claim their doughnuts are the best, even though they cost about 30% less than area doughnut shops. There are no bottle return machines in Bueche's. You enter and right in front of you is the service counter, where you hand them your bag of cans and bottles. They count them and hand you the cash right there. No need to wait in line with a slip of paper. They are the only area store that still doubles your coupon value. Sale prices apply to everyone, without the need of a member card to receive the discounts. Like another reviewer said, some prices are higher, some lower. I have had them order certain products they don't carry--a few days later, and it's there for me. I have shopped here since I went with my mother when I was a child. I don't know of any store where you consistently get treated as well. read more

I'm sorry to do this to my small town grocery store but, I have to. For years and years I have been dissapointed with this spot. Traveling double and triple the distance to avoid their selection and quality. Everyone in Flushing loves this place and thank God or it wouldn't be in business without small town mindset. Their produce is so so. I also had an unfortunately experience last time I was in a young couple in front of me were inquiring about condoms as I stood behind them with a 6 pack of beer in my hand. They were told condoms were not sold due to being a family store. I promptly asked when making my purchase if they were such a family store why sell beer. The poor cashier (not her fault) had no clue how to answer. I called the manager was told that was not the reason, was given some odd excuse and sent on my way. I'm glad when visiting there is another choice for grocery just a few miles in each direction. This store is kinda old, dingy and horrible selection.
