I am getting a little older in life. Waking up in the morning seems to be getting harder and harder each year. I don't recover as fast as I used to, and I find myself in pain and discomfort a lot more frequently now. With this being said, a couple of friends back where I am from suggested I look in to a hot tub to help loosen up the muscles and ease the pains. Since I knew nothing of hot tubs and how complicated the market can be, I decided to venture out to several stores in the area and see what they have to offer.
My first couple stops resulted in some serious interest. There are some really nice looking tubs out there with cool LED lights, waterfalls, and all the gadgets to keep you amused while you soak. Some tubs have radios built in, and some have self cleaning modes. It is fascinating to see how far technology has come since I was a kid. To tell you the truth, I didn't know where to begin. That all changed when I went in to see the Krossber Brothers.
I had a chat with Mike telling him about the other tubs, their prices, and what they had to offer. He handed me the typical store literature, but this time within his packet he had a cheat sheet on what to ask the sales people about tubs. He did not hesitate to show me every aspect of the tub. He was very informative and I was completely surprised how this gentlemen, who looked like he was in his twenties, knew so much about the tricks and trades of the hot tub market. I was also impressed with his laid back demeanor. Every other store I visited seemed to be a little pushy in making a decision on the spot. Mike told me that was because every store out there works on commission. He then introduced me to his brother and his cousin and said that no one here gets commission for anything we sell, and that it is our philosophy that we inform the customer as best as possible so that they can make the best decision for themselves. I must say I was hooked, but I didn't want to show him that. The Beachcomber tubs were also a little more expensive than some of the other tubs I looked at, so I wanted to do more investigating as to why.
You see, I really knew nothing of the Beachcomber Hot Tubs they sell. I wanted to do my own independent research and see what other customers had to say about them. Everyone is going to have a bias to what they sell. It turns out, the bias by Mike was not wrong at all. Beachcomber makes a really good quality tub. From reading online I found out many positive things about them. I was not finished though. I wanted to swing back in to a couple more stores locally and apply the cheat sheet he gave me to other tubs. The differences in tubs are alarming. Some tubs have six filters on them. Beachcomber has one. Some tubs have four to five pillows on them. Beachcomber has head moldings. Beachcomber's energy efficiency is way better than anything sold locally. All of those things cost a decent amount of money every year to replace and maintain. Looking at the internals of some of the tubs is also scary. Beachcomber's pumps are of much higher quality than some of the little plastic pumps found in other tubs. Last but not least was the commission question. It is funny to watch people give you the run around on that question. Funny how nobody ever mentioned that to me in my searches. It speaks to the character of Mike and his brother, and the business they are trying to run.
I want to personally thank Mike and his brother Jim for their business. You treated me with respect. You didn't try and take advantage of my ignorance, and you taught me a thing or two about the whole hot tub industry gimmicks. It has been an absolute pleasure doing business with you.
Just a current update: I purchased the Beachcomber 360 with a one horsepower upgraded pump. I use my tub almost every day. I sleep longer at night. I sleep better. I wake up with less pains. I recommend this treatment to anyone aging with pains and discomfort. Make sure to do your research before you buy a hot tub. My only regret is not writing this little review sooner.
On a side note, I have been back in several times to get my water tested. It is a free service, so I jumped at the chance. Who doesn't like free? Even after making the purchase, they still treat me like I am an old friend with small talk and genuine interest with how I am enjoying the tub. You will not find customer service like this in today's world. Thanks again Mike and Jim! read more
