They serve coffee at their little coffee shop, ice cream, beer, hamburger, hot dogs, corn dogs, bbq, fries... Access to Porter potties and also changing room for babies. They changed it up this time though and so I removed a star. Last time our entrance fee came with a free flower we could pick. Not anymore and they kept the price the same. They did add access to a butterfly exhibit but you have to pay $10 to release one. There's a lot of extra stuff you have to pay for if you want to partake. Last time, some Avengers were walking around. This time, it was Alice in Wonderland theme. Check out their website for who will be there :) The venders were my least favorite NGL. Crotchet and 3D printing stuff. Not my thing. Probably like 7 vendors and nothing was worth it for me personally. Last time they had a candle guy there who I supported but this time it was a let down with the weird trinket stuff. There's face painting for a price! You can feed animals (for an extra price) and launch apples at targets (you guessed it, for an extra price). My kids favorite activity was the bubble station and the tube slide. With that said, there are still lots of activities included in the admission - feeding the goat, obstacle course, zipline, tube riding, tractor ride, animal petting... Many visitors and shoppers tend to have an emotional connection to Kobo, formerly known as Higo. I…read moream one of those people who calls it Higo, before I will remember it is in fact Kobo now. Higo is the original shop owned and run by the Murakami family. This is one of the few businesses that survived the Executive Order 9066 written in 1942 with thanks to the non-Japanese friends of the family who owned businesses in the same building. Today, Kobo represents a new generation of local artists, selling gift items, crafts, tees, books, art, jewelry, and much more at varying level of prices. I highly recommend Kobo when shopping for unique gifts. When I recently visited, they had a glass artwork on display, art gallery style. It was also the yearly Nihonmachi celebration, and they had a table outside with an artist painting one of three designs on classic Japanese windchimes. I was thrilled to buy one of these adorable windchimes commonly featured in anime including Studio Ghibli movies. KOBO Capitol Hill is tucked away at one end of Broadway on a cute little corner that's easy to miss if you're not looking. They have an AMAZING collection of local and international art, books, and other small finds that make it feel like a new experience every time you visit. They also have virtual art shows featuring new artists every month, offering them platform to show off new work in a time where it might not otherwise happen. Due to Covid, they've taken a lot of precautions for their customers and staff, which I really appreciate. Private shopping sessions can be booked online, and curbside pick up was a really smooth experience!

Slow slow, slow, slow slow. When you have seven customers standing in the line, open another check. When you've got two lines with seven people in each line, open another check out. I've asked for help from employees, either get blank stares or completely opposite information of what I need. I have even been mocked for not knowing technical terms by their staff in electrical. I keep coming back and I don't know why. If you're only picking up one item, and have 30 minutes to stand in lines waiting for other people to get their crap together, then McLennans hardware is for you. As for me, I will take the extra 10 minutes instead of standing in line and drive to Home Depot or Lowe's.

I couldn't find the bulb I needed and couldn't find anyone to help so I walked back to the cashier area to ask for help. There was a big African American man standing there so I asked him how I could get some help. He just stared at me. I guess he thought I would just move on. I didn't. Finally he said " With what " in a sarcastic tone. I told him then walked back to the bulbs. He didn't respond to me at all. Luckily I received help from both a lady and a man who were awesome. I don't know who hired the security guard but he in no way should be communicating with the public. We definitely won't be going back to this store unless we don't have time to go to Lowe's or Home Depot. Wow
